Chapter 57: Chapter 57

They were back to the mansion before Alexis knew it and thankfully there were no staff awake.

She sat at the edge of Keelion’s bed, legs kept together and her fingers fidgeting nervously against her thighs.

Keelion was staring down at her, leaning against the door, ankles crossed and hands shoved into the pocket of his sweats.

"I didn’t mean to..." she mumbled.

There was no response from him, but he kept his attention on her. The greenish hue of her bright brownish eyes was rather dim like the slight sparkle that always hovered in them was gone.

Dried blood was still smeared across her cupid lips, full and perfect, and her arms were bloody.

The wild curls that surrounded her head like a halo—a few were allowed to slip, falling over her face. He’d never seen anyone look like they dropped from the sky.

Intoxicatingly beautiful, but maddening. Innocent, yet bloodthirsty for some reason.

"You could have killed her," his words came in a whisper, eyes switching between its blue and black and then back to blue.

Alexis shifted back into the bed and slowly shook her head at him. "I didn’t mean to. I really didn’t mean to hurt her. I-I don’t know what came over me and then before I knew it, I was...."

Keelion leaned close, one hand dropping on the bed and the other reaching to grab her jaw.

Familiar nausea rolled low in her stomach, and she breathed deeply through her nose as she gulped.

He tipped her head up slowly, thumb trailing gently against her bloody bottom lip, less full compared to the curvy top.

His mouth hovered over hers. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

She parted her lips.

Her breath hitched at the feel of his fingers dragging slowly across her jawline and proceeding to wipe off the blood on her lip.

"Girl," Sereia spoke into her head all of a sudden. "Those eyes."

’Huh?’

"Those are bedroom eyes I’m telling you!" Her voice shook. "Keelion is giving you bedroom eyes.

’What are—’

Sereia breathed and vanished, never seen again.

Alexis met Keelion’s eyes and like a tomato, her entire face grew hot, flushing red to the tips of her ears.

Keelion arched his brow for a second, but then he slowly smirked.

He stroked her tempting lips absentmindedly as if he were thinking and then squeezed her jaw.

An almost silent growl escaped deep from his throat and he pulled his hand away, shoving himself off her. He shook his head to himself and turned, walking off into the bathroom, all the while, Alexis watched.

He confused her.

But Sereia was out of her mind. Bedroom eyes? That was ridiculous.

She rubbed her chest, trying to message her heart that was pounding so loudly it felt like it would leap.

Butterflies, like nothing she’d ever felt before, were fluttering in her stomach, the feeling stroking at her abdomen, enough to make her squeeze her legs together and hunch over until her forehead could rest against her knees.

"Sereia, I think I may be losing my mind. It’s...it’s all your fault. Why are you getting into my head?"

"Whose getting into your head?" Keelion’s sudden questioning tone caused her to snap her head up towards him.

She blinked and slowly shook her head. "No...no one."

He stalked towards her with the aid box in hand and squatted in front of her. He didn’t meet her eyes as he asked, "You enjoy talking to yourself? Are you perhaps insane?"

"No!" She quickly retaliated to his words. "I’m not crazy."

"Then explain to me who you’re speaking to." His eyes rose to her face, blank and unimpressed. "This isn’t the first time I’ve caught you talking to yourself, and you always lie, saying, ’no one."

"I’m really not crazy, Keelion. I just don’t know how exactly to explain it."

He cocked a brow at her. "You—"

[She has a wolf, that’s what she talks to. She’s not crazy]

Keelion paused.

"She has a wolf?"

[Yes. And not just any, It’s a dominant wolf. Alexis is a dominant omega]

"That is impossible." Nyx’s words made no sense to him. "She can’t be a dominant omega, they don’t even exist anymore."

[And I’m telling she is. Dominant omegas have wolves with golden furs and golden eyes, well, good news, that’s exactly the appearance of her wolf]

Keelion’s face contracted into a kind of scowl that made Alexis, who was watching him in silence, gulp.

"Keelion...?"

"If she has a wolf, why am I unaware? Why am I unable to sense it?"

[I don’t have an explanation for that, Keelion. Perhaps it has something to do with her condition. I’ve never met an omega, werewolves in general that are physically separated from their wolf. She’s the first and I’m unable to figure anything out. Just like you, she also can’t sense me. And every omega should be able to sense their alpha’s wolf."

"This is ridiculous." Keelion frowned deeper, wrapping the thin bandage around the scratched arm he’d treated.

[Dominant omegas have temperamental issues like dominant alphas do. She is new to all this and I think it’s why she lost herself on Althea—I mean, that bitch hurt her, you can see it. Alexis is a dominant omega, she just...seems to have a problem merging with her wolf]

A soft breath fled his nose and he stood to his feet, shutting the aid box.

Alexis didn’t let him leave, instead asking, "Will she be okay?"

He eyed her. "You almost killed her. She’ll be in the hospital for a while."

"What will happen to me when she’s back?" she fidgeted. "She wouldn’t let me off...will—"

"That will be left for me to decide," he cut her off, coldly. "I make the decisions here. And only I will decide whether you are let off or not. Understood?"

"I’ll be more careful," Alexis said to him with an assuring look on her face. "I won’t make this kind of mistake again or put myself in this situation again."

Soulless eyes bored down at her. "Good," he mouthed. "Because this is your last warning. If you ever put yourself in a situation that could harm you again..."

"...Don’t test me, Alexis."
