The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 56
Chapter 56: Chapter 56
Sereia had never seen her like this—no, Alexis usually had proper control over her emotions, over both their emotions.
She, Sereia was the crazy one—the one who wanted to hurt at every little inconvenience. Alexis...Alexis she...
Alexis looked crazed—nothing like herself, and she knew—she knew things weren’t going to end well. They weren’t recessive omegas. They are dominant omegas, and one thing dominant omegas lose control over is their temper.
"Kid, Alexis, stop. You’re hurting her. Stop it! Remember, we have to be care—"
"It isn’t my fault that he doesn’t want you! It isn’t my fault that you’re just a substitute for me!" Alexis screamed into her face.
Crack. Blood exploded as Althea’s nose fractured.
"Why does everyone think it’s okay to hurt me over and over again? Even when I hadn’t done anything? Even when I’m nice as could be? I told you to leave me alone! Let me be! I hadn’t done anything wrong to you!!!"
Althea moaned in a fetal position on the floor, gurgling, unable to make any tangible word.
"Alexis stop!" Sereia stared between her and Althea, not knowing what to do or how to stop this. She could feel every tinge of emotions boiling inside Alexis. "Please stop it. You’re going to ruin everything, everything we’ve—"
Someone snatched Alexis by the arm and ripped her off Althea.
"Are you crazy?" Keelion snarled, glaring at her with the angriest look in his eyes. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Alexis blinked up at him and as if a switch had been flipped, the craze in her gaze slowly began to fade, and so did her emotion. She flicked her lashes, lips parting and closing like she didn’t know what to say.
"I...I didn’t mean to. I was just... I...."
Tension cracked in the air. "I didn’t mean to..." She rapidly shook her head at him.
Keelion loosened his grip on her and stormed past her towards Althea who was bloody. He quickly plucked his phone out of his pocket, dialing Augustus.
Augustus as fast as he could arrived at the scene and Alexis who’d been waiting by the side wouldn’t meet his gaze. Anyone could tell she was the culprit, she had bloodstains on her lips and her knuckles.
"Sir...this is..." the man looked at Keelion, taken aback and horrified.
"Get her immediate treatment."
He nodded without a second thought and lifted Althea into his arms. He got her to the car he’d come in and drove off, leaving Keelion and Alexis behind.
Alexis had her face to the floor, her body trembling in the sudden fear that was beginning to crawl up her body. What had she been thinking? Why had she lost herself like that? Something like that had never happened to her before.
It was as if in that moment—she was strong beyond anything she’d ever been before. Strong enough to possibly even take on a beta. She had no idea where the strength had come from, what had taken over her.
Keelion took steps toward her.
She staggered back, shuffling back faster, a whimper fleeing her mouth when he got close enough
"Have you lost your mind?" His fingers came under her chin, tilting her head up to make her look at him. "Do you know what you’ve done?"
Her eyes squeezed shut on instinct. "I’m sorry... I didn’t mean to..."
"Open your eyes! Look at me, Alexis. Now!" Warm fingers brushed beneath her chin and he cupped her jaw.
He leaned much closer than he already had and his mouth hovered above hers, eyes dropping to the blood across her lips.
Alexis squinted her eyes open and her lips parted in a harsh intake of breaths.
"You don’t listen," he rasped, fingers still stroking with a strange sense of gentleness. "I told you to never give me a reason not to be able to protect you. Why are you reckless, huh?"
"K-keelion..."
His breath hitched at the sound of his name rolling out of her tongue. He dragged his thumb slowly across her jaw and his eyes rose from her lips to lock in with hers.
Alexis’s stomach churned like it’d been set on fire, face to her ears burning crimson.
Keelion inhaled sharply. "Don’t put me in that situation." His voice vibrated with a calm rage. "Don’t make me lose my mind," he begged.
But Alexis didn’t understand. She couldn’t comprehend what he meant. "Keelion—"
His pupils dilated in the most frightening manner possible, startling her. She yelped, flinching back to get away from him, but he gripped her by the back of her neck, holding her still. "Why the FUCK DID YOU LOSE YOURSELF LIKE THAT? YOU’VE PUT YOURSELF AT RISK—DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?!"
Alexis’s breath caught in her throat as he bellowed into her face.
She froze, the bubbles of terrified tears that had welled up in her eyes, breaking and streaming down her face. "I...I-I-I didn’t mean to. I really didn’t mean to."
"Alexis calm down. Breathe, okay," Sereia glanced between her and Keelion, at a loss for what to do. She saw this coming. "Calm down...okay?"
Keelion’s gaze stayed stuck on the hot tears on her face, but then he backed away from her.
He stared at her with a conflicted look on his face and turned to have his back on her, his fingers dragging through his strands of white hair.
"YOU MAKE ME LOSE MY SANITY!" he shouted and shot her a glare. "Are you okay? I didn’t mean to—Alexis?"
The man looked distressed for some reason she couldn’t understand. He pulled harder on his hair and took a few deep breaths before storming back to her.
He didn’t say a word to her frozen statue, lifting her all of a sudden into his arms. She gripped around his shoulders and instinctively buried her face in his neck like it could settle her down, calm her down from the fear of what she had just done.
"I’m sorry..."
"Keep quiet. Don’t say a word," Keelion bit out, the look of distress on his face never fading.
Sereia hurried after them.
