The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 93
Chapter 93: Chapter 93
Alexis’s fingers paused in his hair.
Those words were something she’d never once thought she would ever hear this man say to her. Now here he was—all hers.
"I love you. I do."
Her lips curled into a smile and she pulled his head back to cup his cheek. She stared at him and the very second he parted his lips to ask questions, she kissed him.
Keelion stayed paused for a moment before he deepened the kiss and weaved his fingers through her hair.
"Has your hair always been white like this?" she asked, curious.
He peeked at the small strands that fell over his forehead and shrugged. "Yes, why?"
"Who did you get it from? Your mother?"
He shook his head. "No one actually. Both my parents are brown-haired. But my mother had blue eyes. Got them from her."
Alexis furrowed her brows. "Then how?"
"I have no idea. I was born this way."
"Do you think maybe it’s because your wolf is white?" she asked, eyes expectant.
Keelion cocked a brow at her. "And how would you know that? I’ve never shown you my wolf."
"No, you haven’t." She gave him a crooked smile. "It was just...a rumor I heard from someone."
He eyed her for a few seconds.
[Keelion, keelion, let’s switch! Y-you have to let her see me]
"I don’t want to."
Alexis blinked at him. "Huh?"
[What do you mean by that? She’s not just your mate! She’s our mate, so she’s also equally mine! Why do you get to decide if—]
"Because I’m in control. You’d die without me, and I decide when you make an appearance. If I don’t want you to, you won’t."
Alexis watched him.
[You want me to beg?]
"Go ahead. You can do it."
Nyx was silent for a word before his snarl rang in Keelion’s head, but then he spoke, [Keelion, please let me take control. Let her see me]
Keelion shifted his gaze to Alexis.
She asked, "Who...are you talking to?"
"My wolf," he said casually.
"You can talk to your wolf?" She sounded shocked.
"Yes, just like you can."
Alexis froze. She peered at him too intently and the man smirked in amusement.
"You...knew?"
He shrugged. "I’ve always known."
"Since when?"
"Since that night, you lost your temper for the first time."
Her face reddened a bit. "Oh."
"I know something is wrong and that you’re not joined with her, because I can’t sense her. My wolf can though, so there is no proble—"
[KEELION!]
He nearly rolled his eyes, drawing a deep breath. "I’m going to shift."
The air suddenly crackled with energy. His body shook and then it started with a snap—bones arching as if they were breaking piece by piece. His fingers curled, nails whitening and lengthening into sharp claws. Furs, as white as snow, were beginning to emerge all over him and a low growl rumbled from his chest.
He was shifting into a full wolf. But it was just that the more he shifted, the larger he grew, larger than any wolf she had ever seen.
White fur rippled across his skin and his breath came in ragged gasps as his body contorted, each snap and pop of bone echoing through the room.
Nyx sat, tail wagging rapidly behind him. His completely soulless black eyes lowered to her frozen frame and he whimpered excitedly.
"You’re...beautiful," Alexis mouthed with her head tilted back as she stared at him. She’d never seen a wolf so huge before. He was almost the height of a car, large frame seated on the king-size bed while peering at her with black eyes littered with pure eagerness.
[She thinks I’m beautiful, Keelion!]
"Shut up! Five minutes and we’re switching back."
Nyx growled in annoyance at him, but Alexis, who’d been startled by the loudness of it, crawled back on the bed, breathing stuck in her throat.
[Look what you’ve done now. I think she’s a little bit afraid of me]
"Have you seen your size? We look like a beast. Remember you have five minutes."
Nyx stared at Alexis. It whimpered under his breath as if to make her understand he wasn’t going to hurt her, but she didn’t seem to get it. So he lowered himself as low as possible and laid his head on her legs. He peered at her and she stared back at him.
He wasn’t dangerous?
He wouldn’t hurt her...
Alexis was reluctant, but she did move closer to him and gently ran her fingers through his white fur. She did it over and over again till she got comfortable enough and then proceeded to grab his face with both hands, a big smile on her face.
"You’re so so beautiful." She chuckled. "I’ve never seen anything so beautiful like you."
Nyx’s eyes fell shut at the praise and he purred in content, losing himself in such a warm gentle touch.
Alexis’s smile spread much wider and she let out a soft breath.
Sereia...
She wished she were here. For days now, she’d been gone and no matter how hard she tried to get to her, it was almost impossible. The last time she felt her was when she marked Keelion, and then when she woke up in the morning unable to feel her anymore.
It was as if she’d disappear into...thin air.
No, that couldn’t be right. Sereia promised. She said she would never leave her, not ever. She was probably recuperating, she was sure of it.
Still, it didn’t in any way calm down the anxiousness growing inside of her, every day she didn’t hear a word from Sereia.
"What are you thinking?"
She looked up at Keelion who was gazing at her, hand coming to cup her cheek. He’d shifted back, his wolf nowhere to be seen.
"Tell me," he pressed.
Alexis bit into her bottom lip. "I’m just worried."
"About what?"
"My wolf," she said. "We’re always together, she never leaves my side. But recently she does, for days. She gets weaker because of our separation and I haven’t heard from her for three days now." freewēbnoveℓ.com
Her breathing grew rapid and she grabbed his hand. "I’m worried, Keelion. W-what if something has happened to her? What if she has left me?"
Keelion shook his head at her.
"That is impossible." He caressed her under eye. "Wolf’s cannot abandon their other half, Carus. It’s physically impossible. She’s probably at rest if she’s weak like you’ve said, which should be a good thing for her. I believe she needs it. Don’t worry, wolves can’t survive without their other half, and vice versa."
She stared at him pleadingly. "Are you sure?"
"Definitely." Keelion nodded at her and pulled her in for a soft hug. "Wait for her to get back to you. I’m sure she’s fine."
