Chapter 92: Chapter 92

Althea burst into laughter. "You don’t tell me what to do."

"The alpha was created for that woman, not the other way around. They are not just mates, he was made for her. You won’t get it, because you don’t know who she is or what she is." She stood up to her feet, hair dragging across the marble floor. "Listen to me."

She snatched Althea by the chin. "You are playing a dangerous game. That woman is dangerous—way more dangerous than her innocence or appearance gives away. You’re going to get yourself killed."

"No, I won’t." Althea glared.

Her finger dug deeper into her chin. "Yes, you will."

She continued, "This game you want to play, yes, you’ll get what you want, but it won’t last. That title, you won’t hold it for too long until she takes it back from you and when she does, she will kill you, cut you piece by piece, and feed you to the vultures. You killed her mother, remember that."

She roughly let go of her and stormed back to her chair.

"Don’t say I didn’t warn you of the part you’re about to take. It will lead you back to a state of nothing and you will never get a second chance. The choice is yours—take your pill, whichever suits you."

Althea peered at her with murderous eyes and stormed to the stable to snatch her purse.

Ryumesa grasped her wrist, startling her.

"What do you want?"

"Once you step out of that door," she said in a warning tone. "Forget you ever met me. Forget my name, my face, who I am, forget that I ever spoke or associated with you, do you understand? I don’t exist, you don’t know me and I don’t know you, understand?"

Althea breathed heavily and snatched her arm back, chest rising and falling in heavy breathing. "Freaky bitch," she muttered under her breath and stormed out of the room.

She flagged down a taxi and as she rode back home, she couldn’t stop thinking while anxiously tapping the heel of her feet on the floor of the car.

It all suddenly made sense.

Keelion’s infatuation with him...her

The way he treated her—the way he constantly looked at her. The way he acted out of his mind when it came to anything that concerned the bitch. It all made sense why he started becoming distant—why he wouldn’t even touch her anymore.

It all just made sense why he never punished her when she put her hands on her. The puzzles were all just beginning to fall into place.

FUCK, FLUCK, FUCK! She made a mistake. She never should have targeted the mother. She should have aimed for Alexis directly instead. If she had killed her, all these could have been solved.

Shit!

She needed to get rid of her, one way or the other.

And she knew...just how.

———

Keelion lifted his face from in between Alexis’s parted legs where he was settled and looked at her.

She was a panting mess, her chest and shoulders rising and falling in heavy breathing. Her entire body to her neck was littered with bites, some purplish and some reddish. Hair was tousled on the bed around her head, some sweaty strands latching onto her forehead.

Keelion smirked and licked his lip. "Alexis." He leaned into her and brushed off the strands of her on her forehead.

Alexis slowly shook her head at him. "No more...please. I can’t go anymore. Too—too tired."

He grabbed her chin and made her look at him. "Are you sure? You don’t want to go one more time?"

"NO!" The bubbles of tears in her eyes broke, arms spread out on the bed. "W-we’ve been going at it for hours, t-the sun is almost about to rise." She shook her head. "No more. My waist hurts too and I-I can’t feel my legs."

Keelion glanced at the opened floor-length glass window and nodded in agreement. "I suppose I went a bit too hard on you."

"A-a bit?" Alexis’s left eye twitched and she lowered her gaze to her body—to his hand grip bruise on her waist. "You call that a bit?"

He stared at the purple bruise in the shape of his fingers on her waist and the litter of hickeys all over her. He hadn’t meant to lose himself like that.

"Someone would think an animal mauled me." Her face was twisted in a glare.

He gave her a crooked smile. "I’m sorry. I just lost myself." He grabbed hold of her and pulled her against him in a warm hug. "I’ll be more careful and gentle next time."

"N-next time? When is your rut ending?"

He pulled back and smirked at her. "Oh, my rut has ended. This," he pointed at her. "It was all me. I didn’t lose it because I was in a rut."

"Keelion."

"I couldn’t help it." He smiled. "I mean, look at you."

She stared at him, specifically at his smile, while slightly dazed. He’d been smiling constantly like this for the past few days, just only at her. If she told anyone, Keelion was capable of smiling and seeming genuinely happy just like a normal person, she didn’t think anyone would believe her.

In everyone’s eyes, he wasn’t this man who would look at her with bright sparkles in the blues of his eyes and smile like smiling had never once been a problem for him. No, in their eyes, he was just this cruel, heartless Alpha, who was unapproachable in any way possible and would never hesitate to get his hands bloody.

It never occurred to her, but maybe she was the only one who truly knew Keelion—the real him, because behind that cruel image was this personality.

"What?" He arched a brow at her. "Why are you staring at me like that?"

Alexis didn’t answer. Instead, she rose a bit to him and cupped the back of his head, slanting her head to kiss him, their lips merged perfectly. "I like your smile, it makes you look less grumpy. You should do it a lot more."

Keelion paused and then he let out a short laugh as he dropped his forehead against her shoulder. "I have no reason to smile around people, carus."

"Then why do you smile at me then?" she asked, carding her fingers into his hair to brush back and forth in a caressing rhythm.

"Is that a real question?"

"Isn’t it?"

He bit his lips. "You’re different, Alexis. You should know that."

"How so?"

"Alexis, what are you doing?"

"Just tell me." She beamed at herself.

Keelion curled his hand to the back of her body and traced up and down on the line of her back. He pulled her closer and buried his face in the crook of her neck.

"You’re mine and special to me. You make me happy enough to smile, so what reason is there to smile at everyone else if not only to you?" he exhaled softly, eyes coming shut around thick white lashes. "And I love you."
