The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 91
Chapter 91: Chapter 91
Althea stepped down from the car. She glanced from left to the right and crossed the road. She approached the opened door of a shabby-looking building and stepped inside.
"Do you have an appointment?" the woman who stood at the only door in view asked.
Althea nodded. "I do. The name is Althea Sofor."
The woman plucked out the paper in her pocket and took a proper look at it. She peeked at her and stepped aside, opening the door.
Althea walked inside and it was shut behind her with a loud slam.
Everywhere was dark, she couldn’t really see a thing until a candle within the room suddenly came to life on its own. That startled her before she sighted a woman seated at the table at the very center of the room.
Her fiery red hair poured all the way to the floor, eyes burning as red as a raging fire. She held an unimpressed look on her face while she stared at Althea.
"Would you like to take a seat?"
Althea hesitated for a moment, but stepped forward and pulled the chair back to sit down.
The woman steepled her fingers.
"The name is Rumeysa. What can I do for you?"
Althea half smiled. "Althea Sofor." She opened her pause, took out a photo, and kept it on the table. "The society gala is in a few days and I’m sure the Alpha will make me his Luna. Even though witches in the pack don’t attend, I’m sure you must know what the society gala is—"
"Get to the point. You’re not my only client," Rumeysa scowled.
"Right. Apologies," Althea cleared her throat.
Witches were strong, stronger than omegas and betas, even if not physically. They’ve always been known for their abilities, but neither the wolf race nor the vampire race liked them much. They were trouble, they were dangerous, but werewolves had use for them—especially those of them who were willing to join a pack.
Witches have their covens but they weren’t exactly much protected. Attacks from the Vampires were always constant and for that, being able to join a pack was more than just an honor, because if there was one race Vampires were careful with, it was the werewolves.
They were basically enemies.
Still packs only accepted witches in rather small numbers every decade. And Rumeysa was one of the lucky ones to be accepted.
"I want you to tell me if everything will be alright. If I will eventually be his Luna," Althea finished.
Rumeysa stared at her. "Give me your right hand."
Althea did, and for close to one minute, she could only watch Rumeysa keep her eyes closed and mutter to herself continuously. Abruptly she opened her eyes and let go of her hand.
"So?"
"You took the life of an innocent soul. Do you know what punishment awaits you for what you’ve done?" Rumeysa asked.
Althea furrowed her brows, suddenly annoyed. "I don’t remember coming here for that, lady. I paid you, so tell me what I want to know."
Rumeysa narrowed her eyes on her and shook her head, amusement written all over her face. "You will get what you desire, you will be his Luna."
"Of course, I will be—"
"But," she continued. "There is an obstacle. There is another person who the alpha is heavily tied to—his mate, and he won’t choose you over her."
"Her...?" Althea blinked. "I’m confused. There isn’t another woman. If there is another woman, if he had a mate, I would know!"
"But you do know." Rumeysa frowned.
"What?" At this point, she couldn’t understand what was going on anymore. "What do you mean?"
"Her name is Alexis Ruderth. Are you going to tell me you don’t know her?"
Althea paused. "Her?" She quickly flipped the picture she’d taken out of her pause and showed it to her. "You mean this man?"
Rumeysa lowered her gaze to the picture and slowly smiled. "A man?"
"Yes, a man!" Althea snapped. "Why are you trying to make it seem like I’m stupid? He’s a man, a freaking beta."
Rumeysa watched her. She kept quiet until she felt Althea had calmed down, then she said, "That is not a man. She is a woman."
"That is impossible. He’s like a beta, betas have no scent or phero—"
"She is that way because she’s what your race would call an outcast?" she interrupted her.
Althea stared at her for a sign that she was maybe joking, but there was no trace of amusement on Rumeysa’s face.
"Explain this nonsense to me."
"That girl is a woman. An outcast, something called a hunted. I won’t tell you anything more about her, as there is a limit to things I can say, and things you’re allowed to know."
"I’ll pay you more if money is what you need."
"Nonsense. I do not need your money. You are far beneath her to know anything about her. But I will tell you this. The alpha knows she’s a woman, he is also aware that she’s an outcast who has no scent, pheromones, or a wolf. He brought her into that mansion for the sole purpose of protecting her."
"Why?" Althea questioned. "Why would Keelion protect her? Who is she to him?"
Rumeysa stared her dead in the eyes. "His mate."
It took a mind-bubbling moment for the information to settle in her head and she chuckled nervously. "That’s...that’s impossible."
"He loves her. You are free to believe it or not, but you do not exist in his eyes. If you’re after the alpha, you have completely lost him, because not only has he marked her, but he allowed her to mark him. Their bond is completed, nothing can break them apart."
Ryumesa laughed in amusement. "The bond a supreme alpha carries is far stronger than what a standard alpha carries, and supreme alphas would do anything for a mate they have willingly allowed to mark them. This battle you’re fighting, ms. Sofor. You have lost. That woman has won."
"No, no, no." Althea shook her head rapidly and stood up, screaming. "That cannot be possible." Veins popped at her neck. "I’ve done vile things to keep that spot. I have fought to have my place next to the alpha, no one and I mean no one can take it from me, not even if she is his mate. I don’t care how far I have to go!"
"That plan you have in your head, get rid of it," Ryumesa said to her. "Or you’re going to meet your end."
