The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Chapter 35
[Someone’s watching us, alright. The damned wolf. I bet she thinks no one can see her]
Keelion furrowed his brows.
"What are you talking—"
"I’m done." Alexis stepped out into the bedroom, neatly swathed in her work suit that were finally her perfect size, and a pair of nice shoes. Her hair as usual were bouncing in pretty curly strands, surrounding her head like a halo.
[Isn’t she perfect? I think she is]
Keelion scrutinized her from head to toe, then back up to her face, lingering on her eyes for a second before clearing his throat. "Have you eaten?" he asked.
"No." Alexis shook her head.
"Come over here and take a seat."
She didn’t hesitate and made her way over, taking a seat opposite him and pushing Sereia off.
"You ungrateful brat!" Sereia snapped and hopped onto her lap. She made herself comfortable. "You’ll carry me and you will enjoy it!"
Alexis sighed under her breath, supporting her weight on her laps, but once her gaze fell on the delicacies on the table, she salivated.
"Go ahead." Keelion permitted her.
She picked up her fork and chewed some of the finely cooked meat before scooping a nice spoon of rice. She popped a bite of fried egg into her mouth, humming happily at the sweet taste.
[I like when she’s happy. Very cute]
"Will you shut up? You think I’m the one who doesn’t like it?"
[Clearly not, because if you do like it, surely you would have changed your mind about getting rid of her]
"You piece of shit. If I don’t, she’ll have her life to worry about. You think she’s safe with me?"
His wolf scoffed. [You’re just making excuses even though you know damn well we are very much capable of protecting her!]
"You don’t know shit!" he snapped.
"Uh..." Alexis cleared her throat, peeking up at him..
Keelion cocked a brow at her, directing his frown towards her. "What?"
"Do you think I can come eat with you at four and seven too?"
He gave her a blank stare before mouthing, "NO."
[Why not? Hasn’t she been eating with you before she got that room with those two? Why can’t you let her?]
"If you question me...one more time, Nyx..."
He breathed out softly, and looked at Alexis who sighed as if she was disappointed with his answer.
"Don’t tell me you’re disappointed." He seemed amused. "Did you really think you could? I guess I am pampering you a bit too much, aren’t I?"
She blinked at him, completely lost for words and slowly shook her head at him. "No, no. I-I was just asking."
[Keelion, come on. She wouldn’t ask you before. But she did now, meaning she’s getting more comfortable with us. Are you seriously going to turn her down? What is wrong with you? I’m the one that pissed you off, not her, leave her out of this!]
Keelion kept his eyes on her and made an irritated sound at the back of his throat. "Whatever. You’re free to come."
Alexis quickly lifted her gaze, eyes glinting widely at him. She smiled awkwardly. "Oh, t-that’s fine. I’m goo—"
"I said you’re free to," he bit out, shutting her up. "And stop looking at me like that." He turned his face away to avoid any eye contact with her. "If you ever get caught coming in here, that would be the end of it for you, got it?"
"Y-yes." She nodded. ’What is his problem?’
"I have no idea," Sereia mumbled.
Alexis rose to her feet once she was done eating and deeply bowed to him. "I’m done."
Keelion lifted his gaze from his phone and looked her over from head to toe, before his gaze halted on her slightly bloated belly. freewebnσvel.cøm
She cleared her throat and buttoned her suit jacket, covering the bloating.
Amusement he couldn’t help crossed his face and he slowly shook his head, before waving a hand of dismissal at her. "Leave. Get going."
"I’ll get going." She turned around and made her way to the door to leave. Sereia followed her out, the door shut behind them.
They took the elevator down to the second floor and marched into the hall where the staff were meant to line up.
Augustus and Lyndon were already in there and when they saw her, Lyndon gave her a suspicious look before his lips widened into a knowing smile, head bobbing in a nod.
"Uh...what is wrong with him? Why is he looking at you like that?"
Alexis shook her head. "I have no idea."
She approached them and deeply bowed, before straightening up.
Lyndon walked over to her and grabbed her shoulder with a soft smile. "Look here, Alexis, even if you swing that way, it is still okay to bathe with your fellow men, okay? It’s a very nice staff bathroom. I’m sure you don’t like Augustus or I in that way. So relax."
Alexis blinked at him. "Huh?
"Kid, I think this idiot thinks you like men."
’But I do.’ She eyed Sereia.
"Well, they don’t know you’re not a beta!"
"Oh!" Her gaze snapped to both Augustus and Lyndon, and she quickly waved her hands in explanation. "This is a misunderstanding. It’s not like that."
Lyndon patted her shoulder. "It’s okay. I respect it."
"I’m telling you—"
"Sir, everyone has arrived," one of the staff who’d rushed over, reported to Augustus and he nodded, turning around.
"Everyone, kindly line up."
"Go ahead." Lyndon waved her off and Alexis gave him a look before heading over to stand in a straight line with the other staff.
In unison, they all bowed at both men before straightening up.
Augustus stepped up. "We’re all aware there is a few weeks left before the month ends, right?"
"Yes, sir!"
"The gala will be held again on the first of next month since it wasn’t a success this last month. We need to prepare for it, because no mistakes will be allowed, not unless you want to lose your heads."
He glanced at Lyndon who stepped up. "First we’ll begin with dividing you all into three groups. Each group has their own task. First group..." He began calling them out, giving each their specific jobs.
"Group seven, Alexis, Damian, and Kaelis. Your job is to greet the guests."
"Yes, sir!" The three chanted in unison.
Lyndon wiggled his fingers at them. "Show me what you got."
