Chapter 34: Chapter 34

The sound of heavy hand clapping sounded, yet Alexis was too deep in her sleep to blink her eyes open.

"Kid, open your eyes."

"Let me sleep a little bit more—"

"ALEXIS!"

She snapped out of her sleep, slipping off the bunk bed and falling to the floor with a heavy thud.

"OW!" she groaned and rolled over on her back, bubbles of tears slipping off her eyes. "My forehead!"

Lyndon blinked at her. "What the..."

Augustus sighed and left the desk where he was seated to walk over to her. He grabbed her hand and pulled her to her feet. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"Are you okay?"

"Yes." She nodded, swallowing the throbbing pain on her forehead. It was definitely going to swell up.

"Are you this easily startled?" Lyndon asked.

She glanced at him but averted her gaze. "I was sleeping...a bit too deeply."

"Girl, are you really okay?"

Sereia eyed her with a concerned look.

Alexis let out a soft breath, nodding.

"Well, I’m glad you’re alright at least," Lyndon said and wiggled his hand at her. "We’re about to head to the shared bathroom, let’s go."

Her eyes widened and she quickly took a step back. "Ah...I-I’ll bathe alone."

Both Augustus and Lyndon raised a brow at her.

"Alone?" Augustus narrowed his eyes on her.

Lyndon frowned. "Why? Got something to hide?"

"Kid, no one can find out at any cost. Lie your way out, anyhow you’ve got to do it. Tell them your junk is too small."

Alexis’s expression scrunched in disgust and she looked at their curious faces. Their stares were intense. Suddenly, it felt like the wall was closing in on her, and she couldn’t breathe anymore.

She defensively waved her hands, chuckling awkwardly. "It-it’s really not like that. I just feel—"

"Ah...I see what’s going on," Lyndon said, nodding as if he’d figured something out.

"Huh? W-what do you mean?" Her heart rate spiked up.

"You’re insecure, huh?" he asked like he was so sure of it.

Augustus looked at him with furrowed brows.

"I mean, it’s understandable since you’re very skinny and Augustus and I, we’re..." He tried smoldering the smile on his face while lifting his arm and flexing his biceps. "Built really well. Augustus has even better muscles than I do."

Alexis blinked as she watched in confusion. That wasn’t...it. But it could work. So without any further thinking, she quickly nodded. "Y-yes...I’m a bit insecure about it. Everyone points it out and...I don’t really feel very comfortable."

"Again, that’s understandable. But you know something?" Lyndon walked closer to her. "Augustus and I, we don’t judge. It’s okay to be skinny like a twig too. I’m sure the women will still die for you because while you don’t have the muscles and great figure, you have a very pretty face, you could easily pass as a woman."

He chuckled and Alexis began laughing along with him, masking the relief that washed over her face.

Augustus shook his head and pinched his temple. "Can you shut up for a second, Lyndon? You’re obviously making him even more uncomfortable."

"Hey, I’m just—"

He ignored the man and turned to Alexis. "If you don’t want to bathe with us, that’s fine. Just don’t be late to the lineup. The teams are being set up today."

Then he walked off, grabbing the hem of his shirt.

Alexis breathed out in relief and proceeded to ask, "What team—AHHH!" she exclaimed, turning her back to avoid the two men who’d begun undressing.

"My moon goddess...holy...goddess..." Sereia didn’t turn, in fact, she took a seat, an assessing look on her face. "Hmm...they surely have great muscles, but I’ve seen better. Honestly, I’m not trying to be a muscle expert, but Lyndon is rather lean. Augutus, however, does have really nice ones. I mean the man even has the V-line that goes into the pa—"

"AHH!!! Stop it!" Alexis screamed, startling Augustus and Lyndon who’d gripped the waistband of their pants, about to take them off. They stared at her and she gazed back at them, but just before they could say a word, she picked up her suit that she’d folded in preparation for this morning, and ran past them, leaving the room and slamming the door shut.

The two men stared at the door and Lyndon blinked at Augustus.

"What’s wrong with him?" he asked.

Augustus, who was clueless as well, shrugged.

Lyndon tilted his head in thought. "Why would a man get scared to see a fellow man’s junk? Hmm..." He began rubbing his chin, before blowing his eyes wide. "Do you think instead of omegas, he has interest in betas and alphas?"

That made Augustus pause.

"Think about it. It’s the only sensible explanation." Lyndon sighed, shaking his head. "I’m not judging, but I’m sure he thinks we are."

Augustus rolled his eyes and stopped his attention on the door for a second before looking away.

...

Alexis glanced from left to right and without a second thought, she shoved the door of Keelion’s room open, barging inside and shutting it. She locked it, turned around with her back pressed against the door, and finally let out a deep breath of relief.

But when she opened her eyes, she found Keelion who was having his breakfast close to the opened glass door of his balcony, staring at her with a raised brow.

"What are you doing there?" he questioned.

She rapidly blinked and cleared her throat, before straightening up, her shoulders and head kept high. Confidence, he said.

"They were going naked."

"And?" Keelion asked as he picked up a glass of cold water.

She blew her eyes wide at him. "W-what do you mean and? They wanted me to bathe with the—"

Keelion began coughing, having nearly spat out the mouthful of water he’d chucked down. He breathed out and slowly turned his head to stare at her.

"What?!"

"Now you’re listening to me." She looked at him as if he’d lost his mind. "I’m going to use your bathroom." She wrapped her arms around herself, shivering at the thought of bathing with those two. "That’s why I ran in here."

Keelion watched her for a few moments, and exhaled softly, nodding to the bathroom. "Come in here at four every morning, seven every night, and bathe."

Her tense expression finally relaxed and she slowly smiled. "Can I really do that?"

"It doesn’t seem like you’re enthusiastic to use the room I gave you, giving running in here was your first thought." The blank look on his face didn’t match the bite to his tone.

Alexis quickly nodded. "T-thank you." And she rushed off into the bathroom.

Sereia sighed softly and instead of following her into the bathroom, she walked off towards Keelion, appreciating the sunrise coming in through his balcony, the soft wind fluttering the cream-colored curtains.

She hopped onto the seat that was opposite the one he was seated on and watched as he picked up his food with a fork.

This silence went on for a few minutes while Keelion stayed busy on his phone and the food he was picking up here and there.

But then, he suddenly paused and ran his fingers through his flawless hair. "Why do I feel like someone’s watching me?"
