The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 106
Chapter 106: Chapter 106
Amora snatched Alexis by the arm and began to drag her towards the balcony against her will. She and Keona jumped off the balcony along with Alexis and landed carefully on their feet without a single impact.
They ran, not stopping until they arrived at one of the cars in the parking lot—-the one that belonged to Lorcan Zarr. The man stood there waiting, but it wasn’t just him. Augustus and Kaelis were there as well.
"You..." Alexis mumbled. "Kaelis... A-Augustus. W-what are you two doing?"
Augustus took a step towards her. "This is for your own good, Alexis. You have to come with us. That is the only way you’ll be able to keep your—"
"No," Alexis refused. "NO!" She snatched her arm from Amora. "I’m not going. I’m not leaving him. I-I don’t care if I die. I can’t leave him. I can’t hurt him!"
She rapidly shook her head and turned to run back, but this time, Lorcan was the one who grabbed her, holding her still against his solid frame. "Running back there is not going to do my brother any good, Alexis. You’re being irrational, so calm down and come with us."
She refused, shaking her head. "No, no, no. Please, please let me go. Can’t leave him."
"Alexis."
"The mating bond is affecting her," Kaelis said. free𝑤ebnovel.com
"Please," Alexis begged. "Just let me go. I don’t have anything else, I don’t have anyone else. He’s all I have. Don’t take me away from him."
"Alexis, calm down," Lorcan tried, confusion in his crimson eyes. "you’ll come back to him. You won’t be gone forever."
"You don’t understand." Her broken tears spilled down her face. "Two of us, w-we need to be together. He’ll get hurt. It’ll hurt him. Please, don’t do this. Don’t—"
"Alexis." Kaelis walked over to stand in front of her. He cupped her cheek. "Alexis, calm down, okay? I know and I understand what you’re saying, but this is for both of you. If you die, the alpha will lose his mind. You will come back to him eventually and—"
"Kaelis, you don’t understand." She cried to him. "I love him. Keelion, I love him. I-I can’t leave him. Please don’t make me. Tell him to let go of me. Don’t do this to me. Don’t do this, please..."
She glanced at Augustus with begging teary eyes. "Augustus, please, listen to me. Make them understand me. I can’t leave. I-I can’t—"
Something hit her at the back of her neck and she lost consciousness in Lorcan’s arms. The man lifted her off the ground into his arms in a bridal style.
"Why did you do that?" Kaelis snapped at him.
Lorcan regarded him with murderous eyes. "Her bond with Keelion is strong and unless this way, we are never making it out here with her." He began to head to the car. "And one more thing, you’re lucky you’re a pretty beta. Had it been anyone else who questioned me like that, your head would be on the floor by now."
He yanked the back door of the car open and got inside while holding carefully onto Alexis. Amora and Keona got into the car, shutting the door.
Augustus glanced at Kaelis who stood speechless. "No one ever called you pretty before or what?"
"No!" Kaelis made a face and stormed off. "He seriously makes me uncomfortable!"
Augustus furrowed his brows with a shake of his head and walked over to get into the driver’s seat.
"What about her mother?" he asked.
Keona responded, "That’s already taken care of. We’ve gotten her body out of there. We just have to make out of the pack before Keelion Fane sends a search party after her."
Augustus flickered his eyes, something akin to guilt, building up in his gaze. "Will he really be fine?" he asked. If Keelion ever knew he was in on this plan, he was bound to feel betrayed. The first woman he’d ever loved was being taken away from him and by the one man, he’d trusted his entire life.
Amora sighed. "He’ll be fine. But I won’t lie to you. Keelion Fane is going to go through a lot. Thee mate bond is one thing, but this sort of separation, it will do a lot of damage on him."
"What? Are you—"
"But he will heal," she added. "Both of them marked each other, so even if he won’t see her, deep down, he’ll be aware she’s alive. He’ll wait for her, no matter the circumstances. The scars will be there, but it’s not just him. Alexis as well."
Kaelis pinched between his brows. "This is crazy."
Keona blinked at him. "Kaelis—"
"No, this is not okay." He shook his head. "We are forcefully separating two mates. That is never done. I just... Couldn’t we have done this any other way that is not this...heartless and brutal?"
"No, this is the only way," Amora spoke this time around. "This was a carefully made plan. Alexis would have died, she wouldn’t even have lasted three days there with Keelion before someone would assassinate her."
She continued, "I know that this is brutal, and it never should have been done, but there is no gain without pain. They will eventually be together again, but first, we need to secure her life. If she dies, it will do nobody good. Not Keelion or Alexis. Do you lots not understand it? Her life is at stake."
Lorcan shrugged. "I do. And that is why I’m helping." He lowered his gaze to Alexis who was curled in his arms. "I may not show it, but I care for my brother and the last thing I want is to see him broken. So if doing this is the one way to prevent that, then I won’t object."
Kaelis peered at him.
"It makes no sense how the both of you are brothers."
Lorcan flashed him a smile. "You sure about that, pretty boy?"
Kaelis made a disgusted face at him. "Kindly refrain from calling me that, sir. It makes me uncomfortable."
"I’ll say whatever I want," Lorcan hummed sarcastically. "Pretty boy."
Augustus shrugged. "They’re quite similar if you ask me."
"And how so?" Kaelis shot him a look.
The man glanced at him. "The temper, their strength, I mean we’re both a standard alpha, but he’s stronger than I am. Their effortless intimidation...you can see a lot of similarities."
Kaelis shot a look at Lorcan. "He’s not that handsome though, unlike the alpha."
Lorcan’s right eye twitched and he smiled very dryly.
"When your head rolls off your neck, you’re not really going to see it coming," he threatened.
