The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 104
Chapter 104: Chapter 104
"ALTHEA! ENOUGH!"
Keelion snapped, enough that the guests within the hall were left startled.
Althea smirked at him. "But it’s not enough, Fane. Did you think I was going to sit and let you get rid of me just like that? After everything I’ve sacrificed. Do you know the horrible things I’ve done just to hold this title? Well, if you can’t give it to me, then you can’t also have the one thing you desire."
She turned to the crowd.
"Since you all assume I’m accusing an innocent woman, why don’t we ask her father then? Surely he wouldn’t lie, would he?"
Everyone shifted their gaze towards Mr. Ruderth and Eve who seemed more than discomforted.
They were suddenly the center of all attention.
Alexis peered at her father.
She wasn’t stupid. She knew she was done for. Yes, this was eventually going to make it out there one way or the other, but like this? Humiliated in front of hundreds of people?
Mr. Ruderth cleared his throat.
"It’s...true," he said.
"How so?" Althea asked. "How did you end up breeding an outcast?" ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"She’s not my daughter. I’m not her father. I was merely married to her mother, nothing more. The one who fathered her, I have no idea. So, no, she’s not mine. The only relation I have to her is her mother," he answered.
Eve backed her father up. "He’s right. She’s not biologically related to us."
Alexis lowered her head, eyes peering at her shoes. She saw this coming, she knew her very own biological family was going to deny her to save themselves, but it hurt, it still freaking hurt.
She didn’t have her mother anymore and somehow, she had been brutally reminded of that yet again.
Her eyes watered and blurred so much she couldn’t see a thing anymore, not until her tears began to drop and she started crying, unable to help it.
"Please stop..." she begged. "Please stop it."
"Alexis..." Keelion’s body trembling because, what she was going through at that very moment, he could feel it.
"Her mother wasn’t the most faithful," Mr. Ruderth said in a tone that gave the impression he was a victim. "I knew what she’d done behind my back, but could I kick out an omega with a child?"
The crowd gasped. The man wasn’t to blame. If anything, he was a gentleman...
Alexis’s hands balled into fists and she slowly lifted her head towards Althea and her father. "Are you calling my mother a whore?"
That grabbed people’s attention and they drifted their gazes toward her.
"My mother is not a whore." Her voice was more of a threat as she began to storm towards her father. She stood in front of him trembling, eyes painfully red with silent tears. "She gave up her own mate for you. Why would she hurt you? You’re the one who hurt her."
She stepped into his space and Mr. Ruderth took a step back. "I get it, you’re denying me because you want to save yourself, but you know what, at the end of the day, you are still my biological father. You birthed me and that is something you can’t run from because if we do a DNA test, you and I know it will come out positive."
A chuckle fled from her and she threw her head back.
"Then, again though, who cares?" Her lips curled into a thick smile. "I’ve long cut you both off as a family. You are not my father, I don’t see you as one, and you are not my sister, I also don’t see you as one. So, you know what, you don’t need to deny me to save yourself, because—" She turned to the crowd. "—They are not my family, I don’t know them. Actually, I’m just an orphan, whose mother just recently died."
Mr. Ruderth’s eyes fluttered, the words taking a few moments to settle in his head. "What do you mean by that?" he asked. When she wouldn’t answer him, he snatched her by the arm. "Answer me, Alexis. What do you mean your mother is dead? W-where is Eleni? Where is my wife?"
Alexis shoved him off. "Don’t ever touch me again," she bit out in hatred. "Your wife? The woman you just stood there and called a whore in the face of hundreds of people? You’re heartless, you know that? You’re a fucking monster. Don’t you ever mention my mother’s name ever again or I swear, I’ll kill you with my very own hands. You don’t deserve to even think of her, so keep her out of your mouth. Whether she’s dead or not, it’s none of your business."
"And as for you—" She turned towards Althea and pushed her to the floor. "—Yes, I’m not a beta. Yes, I’m a woman under the guise of a man. Yes, I’m an outcast, but so what?"
A laugh bubbled out of her. "What? You think doing this will make any difference? That It’ll make you any less useless? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? You’re a full omega, with everything required to be a luna, but the man you’re desperately after doesn’t even want you."
She squatted down until she could be at her level and mouthed, "That’s pathetic."
"Keelion will never want you, he’ll never keep you, not as long as I’m alive. You might have actually had a chance if you’d just killed me." She crossed gazes with Keelion. "Though I doubt that. Because you know why? Even if I were to die, he’s still all mine. You can never have him."
The mockery in her voice was in no way hidden and Althea who was below her gaze was shaking violently on the floor.
"One year, you spent with him, but you couldn’t even get him to merely scent you," Alexis said and pulled down the collar of her suit, exposing the mating mark. "Two months was all it took me. See, that’s the difference between you and me. Unlike you, Keelion Fane belongs to me, and being an outcast changes nothing. The things you want from him, I get them without even trying."
