The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 103
Chapter 103: Chapter 103
Everything fell before Althea’s eyes. There was no way. This couldn’t be real, none of this at all.
This had to be some kind of awful nightmare she was having and she needed to wake up from it as soon as possible. But no matter how much she pinched herself, she found herself unable to snap awake from this situation.
It was real, all real. This was really happening.
Keelion was really getting rid of her.
No, no, no, he couldn’t—
"Will the future Luna be introduced to us?" someone in the crowd asked.
Keelion crossed gazes with Alexis and in a brief moment, she shook her head at him. Anyone can tell it was a bad idea if he ever decided to introduce her to hundreds of guests. It could put her in a tight spot.
Keelion responded. "Not yet." He had every intention to figure out what was wrong with Alexis, no matter how far he had to go or how much money he had to spend. While he didn’t care whether she was an outcast or not, he wanted to live without fearing for her life every single day.
The crowd slowly nodded. They weren’t pressing on it, but that was until Althea took a step out from the crowd.
"Maybe the alpha doesn’t need to introduce us to his mate. In fact, she’s right here in the crowd."
She locked gazes with Alexis whose chest pounded.
Why was she looking at her like that? What was with the look? She felt uneased by it.
Keelion screwed his face into a frown.
"Althea, enough."
"No, it can’t be enough, Alpha." Althea turned to him, bowing respectfully before straightening up. She said, "I gave myself, my life over to you for an entire year and at the end, what have you done to me? You’re trying to get rid of me like I meant nothing. Because you found your mate."
"Well." A chuckle resounded from her. "The least you could do for us is at least show us your mate. We’re your people after all. Reassure them of what kind of a Luna they are to expect. A luna is very important."
The guests nodded, seeming to be in agreement with her words.
Keelion stared her down. He wasn’t stupid, and he could tell what she was trying to do. It was in her eyes, the fact that she had figured something out about Alexis.
But he wasn’t going to allow her to do whatever the fuck she was trying to—
Althea stormed towards Alexis who stood next to Lorcan and grasped her arm.
Alexis blinked at her. "What are you doing?" She frowned at her and tried to snatch her hand from her. "Let go of me!"
But Althea didn’t. Instead, she dragged her and shoved her out until she was right in the very center of the guest’s view, all eyes on her as if she were some kind of prey.
"Who is that?" Murmurs erupted.
"No idea."
Some of the crowds shook their heads.
"Is that a beta?"
Althea’s lips curled into a smile at their curiosity. "A lot of you must be confused and have so many questions. But you can all calm down because I’m here to clear the air."
Alexis’s hands balled into fists, and she proceeded to walk off. Althea, however, pulled her back. "Where the fuck do you think you’re going?"
"Let go of him, Althea," Keelion ordered. "Now."
"Althea paused and suddenly began laughing while never taking her hands off Alexis. "Him? This woman?" She pointed at Alexis. "Let’s stop lying to ourselves now, shall we?"
The crowd at this point was confused.
Alexis and Keelion on the other hand had gone unnaturally still. There was no doubt about it, Althea knew something...
"This person, Alexis Ruderth," Althea pointed, leaving her in the pure scrutiny of the crowd. "Is not a man or a beta. She is in fact, a woman under the guise of a man—a beta."
The guests glanced at each other in confusion, not exactly understanding what was going on. How could she not be a beta? No one could perceive a scent or pheromones from her. Not even the alphas.
Lyndon flickered his eyes. "A woman... and...the alpha’s mate? Alexis?" he mumbled to himself and shifted his gaze to where Augustus stood with Kaelis. The two had this look on their face that wasn’t of surprise but of worry. It was as if they already knew.
How come, how could that be? He was the closest person to Augustus, so if Augustus knew, shouldn’t he have known too? Why did Kaelis know....but not him?
Damian breathed out and turned his attention to Noemi who stood next to him. "Alexis...is a woman?" Noemi mumbled out her question, unable to believe the entire thing.
"Dad..." Eve shifted closer to Mr. Ruderth. "Are we in trouble? They’ll find out what Alexis is. Our family..."
Althea suddenly broke into a laugh, throwing her head back for a moment, before once again, facing the crowd.
"All of you must be wondering how this can even be possible, right?" she asked. "I mean, how can a woman be anything other than an omega? But she doesn’t have a scent or a pheromone. She doesn’t even have a wolf."
She let go of Alexis’s arm and took a step forward, her arms spread out. "Well, I know exactly what our dear Alpha’s mate is."
The crowd peered at her with pure interest. They had never seen or heard something like this.
Althea pointed her hand at Alexis. "Ms Alexis here is nothing but an OUTCAST!" ƒгeewebnovёl.com
Pure silence fell within the hall, loud enough that if a pin fell, the sound of it could be heard.
An outcast?
In their pack?
That was a heavy accusation. An outcast was like a dent that was to be excavated. No one should lay such accusations on anyone and cost them their life.
"That is not possible. We don’t have outcasts in our pack. We have never had one."
Another guest threw, "Don’t accuse and ruin a person’s life."
Althea laughed. "But am I? Is it an accusation?"
