Stuck in a Chinese novel-Chapter 454: The counterattack
"It seems everyone's here." Wei Jun said as he looked at those seated on his left and right in the meeting room.
Lin Ruan and Yue Peng were on his right side, while Li Wei and Mark Wilson were on his left side. The reason others weren't here was that they weren't needed for this. These were business matters, and the others were unrelated to it, except for Xing Xiaomei, who was assigned to guard their warehouses in case an unfortunate incident were to occur.
"I hear there have been some problems." Wei Jun said which made Yue Peng and Lin Ruan a little ashamed but it wasn't like he was blaming them. They lacked what he did. Insanity.
"As soon as you went out of commission, boss, the military broke all contact with us and started putting pressure on the Thunder Cloud Tempest Sect because they've become a threat, so support from them has been minimal as well. As for the imperial family, while the military is focused on the sect, they are focused on destroying us along with the Huatao family." Li Wei explained everything in the simplest of ways, even though Wei Jun had already been provided with a detailed report from her earlier.
"I see." was all Wei Jun said as he remained silent for a while and other remained in their seats with bated breaths to see what their insane leader would do.
"Hypocrites, I say. Just because I'm a dark cultivator, they have branded me as an enemy while they used me as much as they could until they could." Wei Jun said with a lamented expression as if he were the victim of the actions of the authorities.
"..." The others didn't expect such shamelessness from Wei Jun. Well, except for one person.
"Absolutely correct, boss. They had no problem with you being a dark cultivator before, yet as soon as you were of no help to them, they cast you aside like a used woman." Li Wei greatly sympathized with Wei Jun.
"Ugh. I feel violated." Wei Jun said with the utmost serious and disgusted expression as if what Li Wei had said was true.
"Those bastards should be punished." Li Wei added fuel to the fire.
"They should be." And the fire was indeed fueled.
"What should we do about Xin Huatao and the imperial family?" Yue Peng asked, interjecting in the drama between Li Wei and Wei Jun.
"What else?" Wei Jun asked as if it wasn't even a question. With a smile, he said, "We destroy them to the point they can't even beg for forgiveness." Wei Jun's smile scared everyone at the table, but it also reassured them that no one else could mess with them now.
"So here's what we're going to do." Wei Jun said as he began to explain the details of his plan and assign everyone their roles. "Contact..."

"Have you heard the new song? It was amazing." A schoolgirl excitedly told her friend, who smiled and replied, "Way ahead of you. I purchased the entire album."
"What?! Give it to me, too." The schoolgirl exclaimed as she heard her friend's words.
"Is it just me, or is it too hot today?" A man asked the woman next to her who was busy on her phone and replied without looking at him, "It's just you."
"No, it's hot." The man replied.
It was just another day in the Yuan Yin City. The world had changed after the existence of the dungeons became common, but it hadn't changed to the point that the normalcy of life would be forgotten.
Schools were still teaching science, offices were still running, people were still covering the streets. If one thing had changed, then it was the existence of sects and supernatural beings who were hidden from mortals until about a years ago. They now covered the streets, some from sects, some front the government sectors such as the CSF and the military and some just out there to protect humanity for a noble cause.
So, when they spotted a man walking past them in a full black biker suit and a black helmet, at first they didn't think too much of it. But soon...
"Stop!" CSF officers and the military personnel, along with the independent cultivators or the cultivators from sects, began to flock towards the individuals with the power of their Qi covering the surroundings, while some began to evacuate the civilians.
In just ten minutes, two blocks were cleared while the biker just stood in the middle of the square. The higher ups of the military were informed and they were currently inbound to that location. Buildings were emptied in the hurry never ever seen before and against everyone's fears, the biker allowed that to happen.
Finally, after ten minutes, only the biker and the cultivators were left in the square. A good area in the radius had been evacuated and the evacuation was still ongoing. A potion of the city was barricaded and there was no cultivator spared in the city. A common enemy had shown up after all.
The biker stood still in his place, he turned to gaze at everyone from underneath his helmet. Even though his deep black eyes were covered by the black cover of the helmet, everyone could feel his gaze on them, and it evoked fear of the greatest kind, and it was intensified when his cold voice fell into their ears.
"Anyone who wants to leave. Now is the time." The biker said in a voice from which no emotion could be gleaned. But they collectively knew it was an act of mercy. Many, many wanted to leave.
Even those with the strongest sense of justice wavered at that warning.
"Do not give in to his vile demands." A voice entered Wei Jun's ears and the morale of everyone was suddenly elevated. Wei Jun turned to look at who it was and saw a man in a military uniform, the four stars on his shoulders declared his rank as a general in the military. There were a few more with him but there was no sign of General Shao or General Ming.
Seeing six generals accompanying them, even the weakest-willed cultivators regained their courage and determined themselves to fight the biker.
Or at least that was their resolve a second ago because...
Thud...
A circular object fell before the general who had come bearing great courage. The very man whose presence alone had encouraged everyone. Yet, the object that fell at his feet was his own head. The head of the very person they thought was there to save them.
Spurt...
A fountain of blood showered the surroundings of the
headless body, falling on those who were near the general. Shocked and frozen from what they had just witnessed, they remained rooted in their place as the body, now without a head, fell on the ground.
Even then, only the words of the biker brought them out of their trance, who had something extending from his hand, a whip of some sort, pitch black in color that it threatened to swallow the light itself, "Anyone else."
Shock ended. They looked at the man who had beheaded a general, a grandmaster realm cultivator in an instant, so fast that no one, not even the grandmasters themselves, could see the biker attack.
As they came out of their shock, what began to set in their hearts was panic. Fear took place as the will to survive, their instincts to live replaced their sense of heroism. Even the generals felt the difference in power, only now, even when the biker had done nothing but behead the general.
He hadn't shown his overwhelming strength, he hadn't let out the weight of his Qi, he had simply evoked fear. That fear was enough to flame the panic in their hearts as the cultivators began to flee.
"Aahh!!"
"Run away!!"
"He's a monster!!!"
"We'll all die!!"
Compliments began to be showered on the biker, who relished them with a satisfied expression under the cover of his helmet.
[Panic fills your being]
[Fear fuels your spirit]
[Title 'Monarch of Chaos' has taken effect]
[Stats would increase in tandem with the fear and chaos evoked]
[All physical stats +50]
[Duration: 10 minutes]
Wei Jun felt the surge of power fill him as he looked at his surroundings from underneath his helmet. In the air, the news helicopters were showing his actions to the world. No one currently present could take him down. His strength had been displayed to be far beyond that of a grandmaster.
The answer was simple.
The biker who had terrorized the empire had advanced to the realm beyond the Grandmaster realm. That sole fact was enough to make everyone flee for their lives.
As for Wei Jun, he looked up at the sky, a figure rushing at him.
'So he's not coming. Guess they moved as well.' Wei Jun thought as he brought his fist back, planted his feet firmly into the ground, and punched forward in the air...
Boom!!!
The city fell apart.
