Stuck in a Chinese novel-Chapter 455: Lunatic? Nope...
"He had some nerve contacting us." A man with fierce features said while he was sitting in a dark room with three more people. One of them was an old woman who wasn't just old but way past the image of her age. As for the other two old men, they were the seniors of the fierce man speaking.
"He's right. He ruined our plan for such a long time. We even lost the girl and the boy to him." One of the two old men said.
"..." The other old man remained silent for a while before he asked them one simple question, "So you're saying we should extract revenge for a being that we thought was strong, had the potential to reach the pinnacle of cultivation, and even enough potential to be recognized by our god, but was still defeated by a man who was powerless just two to three years ago?"
Although his simple question was very long, it wasn't complex in the least. Who were they willing to place their bet on? A loser who, despite his immense talent, lost to a man similar to his age. The very same man who wasn't even very keen on joining them.
Or would they accept the proposal of the man who defeated the said talented man and had risen to the position where he could even threaten them?
Although a little heated, the remaining three individuals on the table were all rational people. Especially the old woman, who was the sole manager of the entire project. She had not only raised Li Fan Sho, but she had also done everything in her power to make it so he would join them.
Yet, he didn't. All of that for a girl. Of course, the rest of the three heads of the organization weren't happy with it, but it wasn't like they had a choice. Li Fan Sho was the only option at that time, so of course, they had to be patient.
Yet now, a man had shown up who was the same as them, or maybe even purer than them. Had immense power to defeat the very weapon they had taken a long time to fashion, and now had the same enemies as them.
The military.
The old woman, even despite her personal feelings, couldn't refute that fact and sighed. Her sigh was all everyone needed, and the oldest man at the table said, "Then I shall inform Master of the plan. It is time we made our move on the military and the CSF once and for all."
The rest of the three nodded, and the old man stood up to make his way to the darkest depths of the building, where a being with power far beyond them lay asleep.
~~
Boom!!!
"Kugh!!"
The city shook as a strong shockwave pushed everything away. Wei Jun grunted as his hand, all the way up to the shoulder, was greatly shaken, but he managed to stand his ground. Looking at the man before him, the uniform on him, and the image from his memories, Wei Jun smirked as he said from underneath the helmet, "Well, well, it looks like the old man couldn't come."
"YOU!" The man who had come to stop Wei Jun understood his words full well. He pushed back and attacked once again, only for it to be blocked once again by Wei Jun's fist that seemed to have taken some damage before, but now was all fixed.
"It seems they've moved. Haa... Too bad." Wei Jun mocked the man before him, who, instead of riling up in more anger, stepped away as he looked at his fist and then at Wei Jun in the biker outfit.
'What is it? It feels like I hit him, but why is there no resistance? It feels as if his body is...' The man drew a conclusion after his thoughts, and his eyes widened in realization.
"A body cultivator." He said out loud. It seemed like Wei Jun didn't have a Qi barrier, yet his physical strength was as strong as a cultivator who could use Qi armament. The conclusion was simple: Wei Jun was a body cultivator.
"Now then. Shall we begin in earnest?" Wei Jun said as he moved forward, and all earlier conclusions of the man were
decimated as their fists collide once again.
"What the...?" The man was confused. He definitely hadn't felt any Qi armament before, yet now Wei Jun had a Qi barrier around him, and not only that, his strength had also increased by a good bit.
[Qi armament]
[Qi empowerment]
[All physical stats +110]
The man didn't think for long. Or it was more like he didn't have time to think for long because Wei Jun took the initiative to attack, and his attack even pushed the man to be on the defensive.
The difference between their strength wasn't much. One could even say that Wei Jun was weaker. Yet his provocative attacks weren't clumsy or reckless in the least. They were far too accurate and precise for the man to disregard their power difference and take the opponent more seriously.
"Why are you doing this? We had a pact." The man said, but even he knew it was all nonsense. With those words, there was also no need for Wei Jun to hide his face, but he still kept the helmet on as he replied, "What utter bullsh*t. The ones to break it off were you guys. I'm just taking what I'm indebted to."
"Indebted?" The man asked.
"You worked me down to the bone, yet as soon as I was out, you turned your backs on my people and left them to suffer. You don't think I should be happy about it, do you?" Wei Jun asked as he delivered a flying kick that the man managed to block with his forearm, and his other arm bearing the brunt, and moved to counterattack.
As he counterattacked, he replied, "You have some nerve to claim that. You're an evil cultivator. The enemy of mankind."
"Like you didn't know that before." Wei Jun replied.
Since he didn't display his Qi after crushing his yang Qi core, the lower-level cultivators might not have been able to tell, but the old man of the military was sure of it. He knew, yet he had no qualms with it. He wanted to make use of Wei Jun's talent for as long as he could.
The man knew that and couldn't refute Wei Jun's point, which only made Wei Jun scoff as he said, "Hypocrites."
Alas, the man couldn't refute once again. They continued to exchange attacks for a while until the area around them was leveled. Seeing no other choice, the man stopped and proposed, "Why don't we stop? We have no qualms other than us backing off. There's no need to go this far."
That was the truth. The truth was that Wei Jun stood to gain nothing from that. There was nothing he would gain from the military if he were to attack them, so the proposal made sense.
Or at least it would have if it were someone rational.
"I know. I just wonder." Wei Jun replied.
"What?" The man asked as he prepared himself in case the answer to his proposal was not very welcoming.
"I wonder if the old man would react more seriously if I killed you." Wei Jun said with a smile that was hidden by the helmet, but the man could tell Wei Jun had a grin underneath.
"You're crazy." The man said, but was soon to change his argument, "Or should I say you act crazy?"
That was the common misconception that Wei Jun's enemies always had. They thought Wei Jun was crazy, irrational, and unreasonable.
But they were wrong. The man before Wei Jun knew full well. The man underneath the biker outfit was more rational than anyone out there. His thought process was meticulous than anyone. Impulsiveness wasn't a trait he had.
"You think that would change anything?" The man asked as Qi began to flare around him, burning his surroundings as he had finally become serious as well. This was a battle to the death, or almost to the state of death.
He couldn't hold back.
Because his opponent wasn't going to either.
They both disappeared from their spot, and the surroundings went silent until an explosion up above in the air shook the surroundings and reduced everything around them to rubble.
"Kugh!"
"Argh!"
Wei Jun and his opponent grunted as both of them took damage. It wasn't to the point that they could claim to be hurt, but that wasn't the man's concern.
It was a battle to the death from the man's perspective only. The man in the biker suit was after something else. Something more materialistic, certainly not to make the old man of the military regret his decisions.
He looked around as their battle continued, the destroyed city and the leveled buildings, and only one thought was on his mind, 'Land prices and the cost of construction would surely increase.'
