New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 188: Ruined dinner
Chapter 188: Ruined dinner
What does he want now?
Coco immediately noticed an angry mediator walking towards her way, who was trailing behind a beautiful woman with his handsome features twisted into a deep frown.
His head slightly bowed and his shoulders hunched forward, eyebrows furrowed and expression filled with irritation and animosity— a cold anger that sent a shiver through her spine.
Badum.
She froze, her heart skipping a beat as he approached her, his chest heaving up and down as he huffed his way through the tables.
Badum? What the fuck? Coco blinked owlishly, her eyes slightly wide in disbelief and surprise.
Why would I feel like that just seeing him march his way from who knows where to me? She thought to herself, her eyebrows furrowed and raised a hand to her chest, frowning deeply as she wondered what was up with her heart to do that.
Coco grimaced and looked back to Ruby, her eyes glued to her face, but then, she found herself looking at Quizen again, his face still etched with anger.
Despite his obvious distress, the man was still undeniably beautiful for Coco’s eyes and she’s not the type to deny a person’s beauty, opting to voice out that they look beautiful, handsome, gorgeous, pretty— you name it.
So, even if Quizen looked like he was about to bring hell to her, he still looked very beautiful, with his sharp features and high cheekbones lending a touch of aristocratic grace.
She watched as he got closer, her sense of concern growing as she noticed the slight tinge of worry in his eyes when the two of them locked eyes and the closer he got, the more the details of his face were visible.
Oh, fuck, please give me strength to not argue back with Quizen tonight. Not in front of Jonathan at least. Coco said the prayers in her head, asking for assistance for whoever’s listening to her thoughts as she felt her shoulders slowly growing stiff.
Jonathan felt enough anxiety for today from being forced to meet Jacques and Renaldo so she doesn’t want Quizen to cause a scene— probably throw accusations again.
What did I even do? Coco thought to herself and waited for the two to reach the table, which seems to take forever.
I didn’t even do anything for him to get mad, right? I only went out today to get some fruits, introduce Jonathan to my friends, and ask him out to dinner—
Coco stopped her train of thoughts when she realized what she had done to make the beautiful mediator angry, and her heart sank as she felt bad.
The cogwheels turn in her brain, trying to think of words to say to Quizen as soon as he reaches them, her stomach clenching with nervousness.
Not for her, but for Jonathan.
He did not do anything to deserve the upcoming lash out and he certainly doesn’t have to hear whatever Quizen has to say.
Ding!
The familiar chime of the scroll appearing rang in her head, making her turn away from Quizen and Ruby.

Coco stood up from her seat abruptly, smiling at the scarred and startled mediator she had been eating with.
"Coco!" Quizen called out.
There was an edge of nervousness to her smile, her eyes shifting nervously towards Quizen before looking back at Jonathan who looked like he was silently asking if she was okay.
"You can eat the fruits I ordered, okay? Unfortunately, my husband came to pick me up so I have to leave." Coco said in one breath, spouting the words out faster than sonic himself to assure that Jonathan wasn’t the reason why she had to leave.
She knew that Jonathan would feel guilty if he found out he was the cause of Quizen’s outburst, but she didn’t want to explain herself in public where others could overhear, even though she knew she would have to eventually.
She forced a smile on her face, trying to act like everything was okay.
"Okay.. Tell your husbands that I said hi?" Jonathan smiled softly at her, silently assuring her that he doesn’t mind her leaving him.
"I will, I will." Coco smiled back, a little genuine, and placed three gold coins on the table, "Here, take this with you. I already paid for the food, but just take these just in case. I’m so sorry for ruining our dinner."
She didn’t wait for Jonathan to respond and immediately walked towards Quizen, meeting them halfway.
"Please bring those to Jonathan." Coco told Ruby as she passed by her, "He will eat those all by himself, but don’t worry! He’s a good eater!"
"Pardon?" Ruby asked, feeling confused as he watched the woman walk past her in a hurry and blinked in surprise when she saw Quizen being grabbed by Coco before he was dragged away.
"Let me go!" Quizen hissed and struggled to get Coco’s hand away from his wrist.
Now, Coco was not holding him tightly, but her hold on his was firm and secured, making it hard for him to get out of her hold.
"No, we will have a civilized conversation somewhere else so please don’t raise your voice out here." Coco said to the mediator, her voice low and dripping with sincerity, leading him to the second floor, towards her room.
Quizen realized what was happening and his eyes went wide in surprise, his body growing stiff as he let Coco lead him inside her room, gently ushering him inside.
Quizen’s lips parted and swallowed thickly, the anger he was feeling earlier vanishing as his cheeks flushed.
"I know—"
"Please be gentle with me!"
