Chapter 176: A beautiful man

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

Coco walked into the magical shop, the door opening with the sound of a bell ringing as it swung shut behind her with the bell that was attached to the door ringing, its cheerful chime announcing her arrival as she looked around.

The magical shop that she had grown accustomed to was a special cozy space, dimly lit and filled with the scents of spices.

Coco hummed, her nostrils getting assaulted by the smell of garlic and freshly baked bread.

She swallowed the lump forming in her throat, her stomach growling weakly, and looked at the magical stones perched on the shelves that were lined with various shaped and color magic stones.

Coco cleared her throat and called out to the merchant who owns the shop. "Mrs. Tani?"

Coco waited patiently for the merchant to come out and greet her, her eyes scanning the shop for any signs of life.

The store was surprisingly quiet, and except for the soft sound of her own breathing, there was no sign that anyone was around.

"Where did that human go?" Lala asked, peeking her head out of Coco’s pocket to look at their surroundings.

She had been staying inside Coco’s pocket ever since Coco arrived in the village with Jonathan and had settled herself comfortably inside so she wouldn’t bother Coco while she talked to others.

This is her little way to give Coco privacy, since she really can’t fly away from Coco without worrying about her safety.

"Why does that human keep leaving her shop unattended? Is she not afraid of having these magic stones stolen while she’s out there doing whatever she’s doing?" The garden fairy grumbled, her eyebrows furrowing in annoyance.

Why is the merchant making Coco wait? Especially when her human friend has dinner plans with her friend?

"She probably has to run an errand." Coco said, answering Lala’s question with a small smile, pleased to know that the fairy is pissed for her sake.

"That doesn’t justify why she has to leave her shop unattended." Lala mumbled, frowning deeply as she buried herself back inside of Coco’s pocket, hiding herself from Coco’s eyes.

Coco laughed quietly under her breath and stood by the counter for a few more moments, waiting for the merchant to appear and walk through the door with her fingers drumming against the glass of the counter in anticipation.

However, as the seconds ticked by, the shop remained eerily silent, no one appearing through the door.

All of a sudden, a familiar chime cut through the silence.

Coco’s attention was suddenly caught by the sound of the bell at the door, signaling the entrance of another customer.

The sound of the bell hung in the air, its cheery ring announcing the presence of a new person, and the woman found herself waiting to see who would emerge.

Coco’s head snapped towards the door, her eyes focused on the newcomer, her mind momentarily distracted from her original purpose.

She watched as a man entered the shop, his gaze scanning the room as he took in the surroundings.

The man’s appearance was.. Out of this world, to say the least.

His red hair stood out sharply with his bright red hair standing out against his pale, almost alabaster skin which gave him the look of someone who spent most of their time indoors, his exposed skin an evidence of lack of sunshine.

Though he might be as pale as a ghost— he was tall and slender, his height and slim figure giving him a graceful, almost elegant air about him.

Despite his lean and tall frame, he has an air of power and confidence surrounding him, his sharp eyes scanning the room with sharp gaze, making Coco immediately assume that he was a man with status.

His features were angular and well-defined, lending him a rugged attractiveness, but the most striking thing about him were his eyes; they were an intense shade of purple, their color like a deep amethyst.

His eyes were a beautiful shade of purple, framed by thick, dark lashes that contrasted sharply with his red hair.

That’s a beautiful man right there. Coco thought to herself as she continued to watch the new customer make his way into the shop, her ears straining to hear his footsteps as he approached the counter.

Not only was he a sight for sore eyes, he was also wearing obviously high-quality, extravagant clothing— the fabric made of fine silk and decorated with patterns, the material flowing heavily around his frame like liquid.

The clothing hugged his form, emphasizing his lean, athletic build, and the silk fabric flowing down to his ankles, the hems dragging along the floor with a faint stirring sound.

The fabric was definitely the most expensive kind one could find in this world, the threads soft and smooth to the sight with the colors vivid and effortlessly making his good looks stand out.

He was clearly a well-off man, money evidently not being an issue for him, if the quality of his clothing was evidence enough.

If I didn’t know better, I would have thought of this man as a mediator because of his looks. Coco mused in her mind and looked away, not wanting to be labeled as a creep for staring too long.

But not all good looking men are mediators. She added to her train of thoughts, her mind drifting back to Renaldo and Jonathan.

Mediators can be cute, too. Coco hummed, smiling softly as she recalled the way Renaldo became bashful around his wife and the way Jonathan became shy when he told her that he was looking for someone to love.

"Excuse me?" A voice sounding soothing and pleasant, a deep baritone with a warm quality that was almost musical, called out to Coco.

Coco blinked and glanced at the man, who was smiling at her, before turning to him with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Yes..?" Coco answered, her voice dripping with hesitancy.

"Are you Coco Hughes?"
