Chapter 161: Questions, questions, questions.. [2]

"Well.. He has these weird machines attached to his hips and things would come out of it whenever he points it at the monsters— it was amazing." The man made hand gestures of how a person would use a gun.

"It made a sound like bang, bang, bam, or.. I think it sounds more like dang, dang, dang? Something like that, but it looked super convenient because he didn’t have to go close to the monsters." He finished his little ministrations with an awestruck smile.

Coco’s heart raced inside her chest at what she had just heard.. A gun? In this world? A magical gun?

A large smile creeped into her lips and leaned forward even more. "Do you know the name of this individual? Do you have any contact or information regarding his whereabouts?"

The man blinked and slowly nodded his head. "If I remember correctly, his name was Greinzer and he always carries an instrument case with him which will be a huge giveaway because as far as I know.. He’s the only hunter carrying something like that."

"An instrument case?" Coco asked, slightly confused at the words of choice that the man used.

"Yes, he was carrying an instrument case, but I’m not sure what it is since I don’t do music." The man has a sheepish and apologetic look on his face as he looks away from her, "But he stayed in the main city from what I heard."

Coco hummed, satisfied with what she heard and couldn’t stop the grin from spreading wide on her face.

"Greinzer, huh?" She mumbled, burning the name in her mind so when she finally departed to go to the main city, she would not have a hard time looking for him.

"So, what happened next? After the third stage?" Coco shifted the topic back to the main one because she badly wants to know what she needs to expect to get her license— it’s crucial for her because she needs it so she could sell monster meat in the main city.

The man who was previously rambling seemed to remember what they were talking about in the first place before he got sidetracked.

"Ah, yes! After the third stage, we got sent to the next one which was the easiest of them all." He flashed Coco his perfectly white teeth as he smiled, "They interviewed us individually and asked us about mundane things."

They probably just wanted to know what you do in your free time to see if you’re reliable or not. Coco thought to herself, nodding her head once more to show him that she understood.

"Once they’re done with the interview, they’ll leave you alone for a couple of days and bam! You’ll know that you passed the licensing after they sent you a notice via letter to your place!" He finished his story with a loud laugh, crossing her arms in his chest like a proud storyteller.

"Hmm.. So to be a licensed hunter, you have to go through four types of examinations?" Coco mumbled under her breath.

"Examinations? No, no, no, four stages! Stages!" The man heard her and corrected her.

"Yes, stages." Coco smiled at him and shifted in her seat once more, leaning away from him to stretch her legs under the makeshift table, "Anyways, how long does the stages last? Did you have to stay in the city for days?"

The man nodded his head and looked like he was suddenly put on a spotlight. The bad one.

"It took us a month and a half before we passed." He mumbled and let out a sighed, "The days between the stages are either three to four days apart so it forced us to stay for that long."

A month and a half? Does she need to stay that long inside the main city for a hunter license?

Coco fidgeted with her fingers and looked down, the thought of leaving the four mediators alone without anyone to protect them somehow made her uncomfortable.

It didn’t made sense, but as the alpha of the pack, she need to provide and be responsible for the four mediators.

Would bringing them to main city suffice?

Coco wondered and entertained the thought for a short moment before she shook her head to get rid of it.

She can’t do that to them.

She can’t just tell them that she will take them with her to the main city because she’s anxious to leave them alone in the village without anyone she could trust to check on them—

She abruptly stopped her train of thoughts.

I have Jonathan, Kairo, and Jacques to keep an eye on them while I’m away! Coco’s face brightened up as she came to her final decision.

Satisfied that she doesn’t have to worry about them, she flashed the man before her a smile.

"I see." She started off as she stood up from the makeshift chair, "Well, I don’t have any more questions to ask at the moment, but I’ll come back if I think of one."

Coco watched as the man’s eyes went wide in shock and fright like he had just remembered that he was talking to someone who had knocked them unconscious when they tried to mess with her husbands.

"U-Understood!" The man shrieked and abruptly stood up, scrambling backwards to get to the huddled men on the corner.

"I’m glad that one of you decided to entertain me and answer my questions, if you didn’t.. Well, you know what would have happen." Coco said with the same friendly smile on her face, "Right?"

All they could do is nod their heads.

"Anyway, I feel a lot better now." Coco hummed softly and and stretched her limbs, "I think I can do the things I need to do without having to feel like that again."

She didn’t give the men the context of her words and exited the cell, straightening the metal bars back into their place.

"I’m excited for dinner." Coco laughed, leaving the frightened men.
