New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 155: Thugs
Chapter 155: Thugs
"Are you sure you still want to go out, Coco?" Lala asked, worried beyond words could describe.
She watched as her human friend bought out the white egg from her personal inventory and placed it gently on the bed before she started caressing the shell out of nowhere.
She has not made a move ever since she bought the egg out and only focused on the egg.
Coco hummed softly under her breath and glanced at the garden fairy, her emerald irises glistening with unshed tears, but refused to fall from her eyes.
"Yeah, I still want to go out." Coco answered her question and forced a smile, "I have no choice, but to go out. If I don’t, I’ll only feel even worse than I am feeling right now and will think about them nonstop."
Lala frowned upon hearing Coco’s answer and wondered out loud, "Them?"
However, instead of answering Lala, Coco stood up from the bed and stretched her limbs before grabbing the beginner’s gloves out of her personal inventory, holding them tightly on her left hand.
She can’t say the reason why she was feeling sad to Lala because she knows that the fairy would feel guilty.
She was the one who killed her after all.
Wordlessly, she walked over to the window and reached out to draw the blinds close, making sure that no one would be able to take a peek inside the room and see the strange magical egg sitting comfortably on the top of her bed.
"Let’s go pay those damn thugs a visit." Coco said to the fairy and walked towards the door, "We haven’t paid them a visit ever since they were put inside that little prison, right?"
"Thugs..?" The fairy asked, the look of frustration in her face getting replaced with confusion, "Who are you talking about?"
Coco placed her right hand on the doorknob and smiled as she glanced at Lala over her shoulder, "Those damn thugs that harassed Alhai and Heiren."
She swung the door open and stepped out—
"Thugs?"
Only to bump into something solid and warm, the impact having caught her off guard and halted her step forward causing her to stumble backwards, almost losing her balance.
"Coco!" Lala shrieked out of surprise when Coco stumbled backwards.
Coco let out a groan and raised a free hand to rub her face to get rid of the itchy sting on her nose because whatever she had hit was hard, making her nose hurt.
"You again?!" Lala exclaimed right beside Coco’s ears, "How many times has Coco bumped into you and almost got herself hurt— no! She’s hurt right now! Can’t you just knock on the door like a normal person to let her know that you’re there?!"
Coco blinked owlishly and held her nose, raising her gaze from the floor to the person whom she bumped into.
"What are you even doing here?!" Lala asked the blue haired mediator and pointed an accusing finger at him, her face red from anger and agitation.
"What are you doing here, Quizen?" Coco repeated the question that Lala asked and immediately closed the door behind her, the sound of the lock clicking letting her know that the door was secured close.
The devilishly handsome mediator kept his gaze on Coco’s face for a moment, his blue eyes holding an unreadable glint in them.
"You, too?" Coco inquired as she raised an eyebrow at Quizen and stepped to the side so she could get away from his towering form, "People do love to stare at me today for some reason."
Her statement made his eyebrow twitch and she saw how he frowned as if he had realized that he was staring.
"I wasn’t staring." The fourth husband tried to protect his dignity and cleared his throat, "I was merely analyzing the reason why they were so worried about someone like you."
".. Worried?" Coco blinked, not expecting the reason for his shameless staring.
It was the fourth husband’s turn to raise an eyebrow this time as he raised a hand to his face, making the sleeve of his blue robe, the one she bought a couple of days ago, cover the lower half of his face.
"Oh, my." Quizen quipped and smiled at her, one that didn’t reach his eyes and looked condescending instead, "You’re not aware how much people care about your well-being?"
Coco merely eyed him warily and frowned.
She didn’t want to entertain his childish antics any longer so she turned in her heels and started walking away from him, not caring if she’s leaving him right in front of her room.
Quizen’s jaw drops at Coco’s action.
"What— hey!" He called out to the black haired woman and immediately chased after her, "How dare you leave me behind? Can’t you see that I was sent here because Zaque heard a word about you acting strange?!"
Coco descended the staircase and continued walking, ignoring the obnoxious and loud mediator behind her.
If Zaque sent her because she was feeling upset, then he shouldn’t have said those words and acted immature— she was already feeling empty enough as is.
As she was making her way to the door of the Red Horse Inn, she heard someone else calling out to her and turned to the person who wanted her attention, stopping in her tracks and waiting for the person to approach her.
"Coco!" Joachim beamed at her, "Are you going back here to have dinner? The main dish on the menu tonight is roasted pork belly!"
Coco stared at Joachim’s smile and slowly nodded her head, not wanting to make him upset.
"Yeah, I’ll have that for my dinner." Coco murmured and turned away again to start walking towards the door as she called over her shoulder, "I’ll come back as soon as I can."
"Take your time!" Joachim said, waving a hand and waited for Coco to disappear from his sight, smiling widely before making his way back to the desk.
Quizen could only stand there, dumbfounded.
