New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 150: A strange quest
Chapter 150: A strange quest
Coco’s heart felt empty.
She has been working nonstop on the tropical fruits— kiwi, banana, and dragon fruit— harvesting them gently and softly, but her body felt like it was on autopilot the whole time.
She couldn’t stop thinking about her sisters and mother.
Corinne Coison would be so proud of her for trying to make the best of her current life, taking down monsters and selling them even though they were just in one of the villages of the new world.
Carina Coison would be so intrigued that she obtained the privilege to have a lovely and thoughtful fairy such as Lala, but she would probably be trying to do an ’experiment’ on the garden fairy to know what kind of potential she has.
Carina is a curious individual after all. Coco thought to herself, her fingers clutching the kiwi in her palm and plucking it before she bent down to drop it in the basket.
Mama Coison or Cleora Coison, on the other hand, was a kind, caring, and loving mother of the three daughters.
She was hardworking and thoughtful as a mother, something that makes Coco thankful for having someone like Cleora as her mother.
She has heard from acquaintances how bad their mothers were to them and even heard how they cut their biological mothers from their life because those mothers were as worse as they could be.
It made her think of a scenario where she cut her own mother off from her life.
However, the mere thought of not being able to contact Cleora and asking her if she was okay, made Coco cry for days— to the point that Mama Coison had to console Coco to prevent her from having such thoughts in her mind.
Oh, man.. Coco mused mentally and frowned, her shoulders sagging forward as the corner of her lips curled down.
I ended up thinking about the three of them even though I said I shouldn’t.. Coco thought, her emerald irises staring blankly at the fruit she had in her hand.
She looked away from the fruit and looked at the tree, her gaze immediately skimming through the branches to see if there was any fruit left and to her surprise— not really— she didn’t see a single fruit in sight.
Casting her attention back to the fruit, she placed it down on the basket where the other fruits were as she thought that she didn’t even notice that she was already done harvesting the kiwis.
Time flies by whenever your mind is elsewhere, huh..? Coco thought to herself and picked up the basket.
She walked over to the next fruit she needed to harvest, eyeing the luscious pink skin of the exotic tropical fruit with a cold gaze.
If the fruit was a breathing being, they would have shivered at how blank Coco’s stare was.
Sighing deeply through her nose, she placed the basket on the ground and looked at the dragon fruit, her hand reaching out to start plucking them from the cacti branches.
Ding!
The familiar chime of the scroll’s arrival echoed in the air and she was quick to turn her attention to the scroll that appeared in the air, right before her eyes.
Another quest..? Coco mused in her mind as she read the content of the scroll.
[ Main Quest {7}: A strange task for the blue mortal ]
Blue mortal? Coco raised an eyebrow at the title of the quest, feeling a little offended for some reason.
Surely, the quest wasn’t talking about her, right?
[ Due to the geographical abnormalities of the new world, an abnormality was found near one of the spawn points of the monsters in the Jire Forest. A quick clean up is needed.
Coco Hughes is the only available person the fairies have at hand right now. Do a swift clean up and get the abnormality out of the area of the spawn point before it gets discovered by the monsters.
Time Duration: 10 hours and 58 minutes
Reward: A familiar
Consequence of failing the quest: Evolution of Flying Pig. ]
"Evolution?" Coco mumbled, her eyes going wide in surprise, "Catching one is hard enough as is and the punishment of this quest is a flying pig’s evolution? What the actual fuck?"
Coco’s nostrils flared as she huffed out, annoyance coursing through her veins and her head pounding because of an upcoming headache by the thought of a monster evolving and being harder to kill.
"I’m planning to be a hunter here!" Coco exclaimed as she glared daggers on the scroll and grabbed it, "If you try to do that, I don’t think I’ll survive long enough out here if one of the monsters evolves into a stronger one, Lulu!"
The scroll shook in her grip and started flailing like it was caught in a predator’s trap, wanting to get out.
In a sense, it was indeed caught, but by Coco’s wrath.
"I’m thankful that you’re going to give me a familiar, but the quest itself sounds difficult." Coco hissed and glared pointedly at the shaking scroll.
"What you said in the quest was that I need to go near the flying pig’s spawn point— wait, why was it called spawn point? Renaldo called those spots spawn stones." Coco added to her rant.
"I don’t get why you would give me a quest that’s near the monster spawn stones." Coco huffed out as she let go of the scroll, "I know that I’m bitching right now— because I am— but what would happen if I fail to get that abnormality you speak of?"
The scroll disappeared from Coco’s sight which made her frown deepen, but it appeared after a second.
[ You’ll see a grey egg with a metal as a shell. ]
Coco blinked owlishly. "An egg..? The abnormality you were talking about is in the form of an egg?"
The scroll merely went up and down as a response, then it disappeared in a puff of air which made Coco turn away from its spot.
"What a strange quest."
