New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 127: An attempt to avoid him
Chapter 127: An attempt to avoid him
The morning went by quickly and it was now time for Coco to go back to the village, the basket was filled with citrus fruits and was stored in her inventory.
She has another batch of food saved in her inventory for the husbands, grapes and bananas, but she doesn’t know if they eat fruits like grapes so she was contemplating whether to not give them some or not.
On the other hand, the garden fairy was on the look out for any monster they could catch because a day without a hunted game sounds bad.
Coco was expecting a poison tiger to be seen around the forest since she was quite far from any source of natural water, with the flying pig and tough crocodile seemingly always spawning near the waterfall, she knew that she wouldn’t encounter one.
However, she spoke too soon.
"What’s a fucking tough crocodile doing in this part of the forest?! This is near the village!" Coco screamed, screeching on the top of her lungs as she stared down at the monster.
"Is that a problem? Look! We already have a monster for us to catch!" Lala gleamed with eagerness, pointing at the crocodile.
"It is a problem." Coco grumbled as she gripped the handle of her unbreakable hoe, "If someone else other than saw this monster, they would have a hard time to catch it because of the tough shell and if I’m not wrong, it releases toxic gas, too."
"Oh, no.. That is a problem!" Lala gasped out, a horrified expression on her baby face.
"We have to be extra careful with these monsters or else it might get out of hand." Coco said as she took a leap from the branch, her body arcing through the air and descending towards the ground, dropping down to the crocodile down below.
With her hand already clutching her unbreakable hoe, the tool is ready to do damage and the crocodile’s tough armor offers little protection against the hoe.
The attack was quick, her trusty unbreakable hoe swinging through the air with a deadly force, the powerful blow of the tool quickly tearing through the tough hide of the monster— the hoe connecting with the crocodile with a loud crack, the sound echoing through the surrounding area.
"You’re getting quicker and quicker on taking them out, Coco! It’s amazing!" The fairy clapped her hands as she praised her human friend.
"It’s because I’ve been getting stronger. I noticed that I only have to make one hit to take them down." Coco huffed out and stored the hoe back to her inventory before crouching down to check if the crocodile was actually dead.
The pool of blood that formed under the monster was already big and covered almost the area so she was kind of sure that the crocodile wouldn’t move anymore.
The blow on the head must have been too strong because the blood was gushing out of there quite a lot, making Coco let out a sigh as she brought out the unbreakable hoe to see if there’s any blood on the blade.
"Oh, man.. I have to clean this now." Coco whined, her eyes landing on the blood dripping at the end of her tool.
Grumbling about the tool, she stored it back inside the inventory and lifted the dead crocodile over her shoulders, the massive weight proving no match for her strength.
She handled the crocodile with ease, slinging it over her shoulders as if it were nothing more than a sack of potatoes, the crocodile’s head dangling over one shoulder, its gaping jaws with the large and deep gash on its forehead providing a gruesome sight.
With the tough crocodile secured, she bought out the basket and she began making her way back to the village.
As usual the murmurs and whispers of the villagers were the first thing she heard when she walked through the gates, their eyes wide as they stared at the monster over her shoulders.
More specifically, at the wound on the monster’s head.
Her strength must have far exceeded that typically expected of someone of her size and build because how could someone as short as her could inflict that gash on the monster?
When she arrived at the butcher shop, Jacques and Renaldo were about to go out, but they stopped in their tracks when they saw Coco.
"Goodness! You’re back way too early today!" Her pink haired friend exclaimed.
"Is it bad?" Coco raised an eyebrow as the married couple moved aside to let her through the shop, "I found this in the forest so I had to take it back with me."
"It’s not that it’s bad." Jacques assured her with a smile, "But we haven’t eaten our lunch yet."
Coco blinked and turned her back at them. "I didn’t say that you two should stay, I still have to remove the armor of this thing. Go and have your lunches, don’t think of me too much, yeah? Take your time."
She waved a hand over her shoulder as she get the basin out underneath the table.
"We’ll be back soon!" Renaldo called out to his friend and closed the door, leaving Coco with complete silence inside the shop as she started to work.
"You’re so generous with your workers." Lala sighed out with a dreamy look in her eyes, "I wish Xixi is the same as you, but she kept telling us to go to work once she arrives even though we haven’t had our breakfast."
"I’m not a mob boss that forces her workers to do shits." Coco chuckled and shook her head, "They’re my friends and they have life outsi—"
Coco stopped talking when she heard the door creaking open.
"Hello?" A familiar little boy called out inside, "Ms. Coco? Ms. Jacques told me to go here and accompany you.."
Are you fucking kidding me? Coco grimaced, taking the last tough hide on the monster’s tail, leaving her no choice, but to let the kid inside.
"I’m here!"
