New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 117: Power up!
Chapter 117: Power up!
"Let’s put the rest of the things we were carrying to the inventory and hunt for monsters." Coco stated as she stored the basket and the sling bag in her personal inventory, "Hopefully, we’ll be able to catch a flying pig, poison tiger, or a tough crocodile."
"I hope we can catch a tough crocodile.. We haven’t tasted that one yet, right?" Lala pouted, the thought of Coco working hard to catch the monsters, but not having the chance to eat made her upset.
Coco deserves to have a taste of everything she catches!
"If you didn’t give the part that Renaldo put aside to the husbands, then you would have tasted it— but you’re too lkind for your own good!" Lala whined, grabbing Coco’s hair and tugging on it.
Coco merely laughed at the fairy’s antics as she slipped the beginner’s gloves on, clenching and unclenching her hands to test if it perfectly fit.
[ Passive skill, (Strength), has increased! ]
"Oh, goodness!" Coco gasped in surprise when the scroll appeared in front of her and told her that her strength has increased.
"What? Whaaaaat?" The garden fairy perked up, startled to hear Coco sounding shocked.
"These gloves do have a use after all! I’m such a bad person to judge it so early when I haven’t tried it yet! Sorry, Lulu!" Coco squealed, her lips curling up into a large grin as she pumped the air with her fists.
Another scroll appeared before her, making Coco stop her little celebratory cheer.
[ Gloves? What gloves? You had gloves? I didn’t give you any gloves! On what quest did you get that gloves from? I was away for two days because of private matters! I haven’t given you any quest since for that mediator one! ]
A chill ran down Coco’s spine when she read the content of the scroll, her eyes going wide and the color on her face draining.
Does anyone else have access to Lulu’s shits?
As much as Coco wanted to dwell on it because a familiar roar had echoed in the air.
Coco blinked rapidly and looked past the scroll, her eyes landing on a dashing poison tiger in the distance, wings flapping wildly and as usual, had its stinger pointed at her.
Coco was quick on her feet, her reflexes lightning fast as the poison tiger came barreling towards her.
She’s already used to the creature’s size and strength so seeing it flying towards her at full speed didn’t make her waver, her hands clenching into a fist as she waited for the perfect moment.
She saw her opportunity, the tiger just close enough and tried to strike her with its stinger, the claws out and swatting at her at the same time.
She barely evaded the attack, her movement swift as her clenched fist flew forward and struck out with a powerful punch, her knuckle colliding solidly with the tiger’s midsection and sending it flying back.
In a single strike, thanks to the power up of the gloves, she sends the monster’s massive form hurtling to the ground with a loud thud.
Coco’s expression was calm, her eyes fixed on the downed tiger, but felt a sense of satisfaction swirling in her chest, her quick thinking and strength having saved her from the trouble of hunting down one monster.
"That was quick!" Lala squealed, flying over to the poison tiger and observing the monster.
"Lala, don’t get too close." Coco warned the fairy and gently grabbed her, placing her on Coco’s head just in case it tries to get back up again.
"Aww.. Sorry." The fairy apologized and sat down on Coco’s head, puffing her cheeks out.
"Well.. Since we have this bad boy here, we only need to look for one more." Coco stated, a smile emerging in her face as she grabbed the tiger’s hind leg and stored it in her inventory.
"I’ll bring that back out once I’m near the village." Coco hummed, rolling her shoulders and making her way down to where the waterfall was located, "Let’s go see if we can find a flying pig somewhere in the waterfall."
"Oh, yeah! You did say that those flying pigs might be attracted to the sound of the water!" Lala gasped, as if she had just learned about something amazing.
"Yes, they might be, but who knows? I’m not an actual hunter." Coco chuckled, shaking her head which made the fair sway left and right, "I only take down whatever’s chasing us and take those back to the village."
The garden fairy giggled. "But you learned now! You can take those things down in one punch most of the time!"
Coco could already hear the sound of a waterfall nearby, the constant sound of the water hitting the bottom pool becoming a background noise.
"Looks like we’re almost there!" Lala exclaimed, her eyes wide in shock as she pat Coco’s head, "You walk so fast, Coco! You’re really amazing! You must have wanted to see a flying pig so bad!"
"Jacques requested for two monsters so.." Coco said, trailing off as she walked out to the clearing.
Coco finally made her way towards the waterfall, the roaring of the water growing louder and louder with each step, the mist from the fall sprayed on her face, the droplets cool and refreshing against her skin.
"And.. We’re here." Coco hummed and proceeded to walk further, the water seemed to cool the air around her and the fairy, the waterfall providing a much-needed cool breeze.
She looked around the area, the shimmering blue water of the pool catching most of her attention, but there’s no flying monster in sight— nor a crawling monster with tough armor that could be in comparison to metal.
Coco scratched the back of her head as she let out a disappointed sigh.
Lala could sense the upcoming frown so she stood up and flew to Coco’s face. "Let’s eat lunch while waiting! I’m sure that man who cooks prepared something delicious for you!"
".. Alright." Coco smiled softly.
