[ Alhai’s Quest {1} done! Receiving rewards....]

Coco perked up when she read the text before turning her head away and focusing her attention on her path.
She’s currently on her way to the mountains, a large basket perched on her back with a sling bag over her shoulders filled with packed breakfast, lunch, and a flask which was imbued with a color cyan magic stone.
The flash was given to her by the merchant before she left the village— saying something about her being concerned about Coco not drinking enough fluids to replenish the water in her body.
If that wasn’t enough proof that Mrs. Tani treasures Coco, then she doesn’t know what will happen.
"I’m receiving the reward for Alhai’s quest now, Lala." Coco announced to her flying companion, making the fairy gasp and fly over to her shoulder. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
"Tell me if you received it and show me how it works!" Lala said, her voice cheerful and excited, the exhaustion from earlier is now gone and rid off of the fairy’s little body.
Coco hummed, nonverbally agreeing to the garden fairy’s request as she navigated through the rough and uneven terrain up to the mountain with practiced ease, having to go up and down on a daily basis.
The unlocking of the inventory feature took so long that Coco had arrived at her little garden of vegetables.
She was expecting that she would be able to use the inventory on her way up to the mountain, but all she could read on the scroll was..

Seeing the same texts over and over again made her soul go out of her body several times, if it weren’t for Lala pulling her back to reality, she would have rolled down the mountain, all because she was left feeling disappointed.
"Don’t worry too much about the inventory thingy, Coco." Lala said, rubbing her cheek on Coco’s before kissing her cheek, "Let’s just harvest the vegetables you grew, then some of the fruits I’ll grow!"
Coco let out a sigh, her shoulders sagging forward as she nodded her head. "I’m so glad you’re here with me, Lala.. I don’t know what I would do without you."
"I’m also happy to be here with you, Coco! Exploring this world would be amazing with you because no day would be boring if you’re here with me!" The fairy returned the sentiment, giggling cheerfully as she hugged Coco’s face.
She was about to express how much she appreciates the fairy, but something popped up before her eyes.
A holographic screen appeared in front of her, the screen hovering in the air and emitting a soft green glow— the glowing image hovering in the air like a 3D model.
Coco’s eyes went wide and she pointed at the screen before her. "Lala, oh my god, look! The inventory finally showed up!"
The garden fairy pushed Coco off of her and whisked herself around so fast that watching her gave Coco a whiplash, the movement was so quick, but seemed normal for a small creature like Lala.
"I can see it— why?! This is amazing, Coco!" Lala squealed, her eyes shining so bright that stars would probably start to pop out.
Coco stared at the inventory that appeared before her and despite her initial surprise, the woman couldn’t help, but marvel at the detailed information displayed within the inventory, the interface almost lifelike in its design.
It was like she was playing a virtual reality game.
"What should we put in it first?" Coco asked no one in particular as she looked at the digital inventory with a mix of fascination and concern.
"You know.. I was expecting a freebie on the inventory or something.. Like, you know, in games? Those beginner’s boxes they give to new players to help them?" Coco sighed out as she shook her head, "Me and my expectations, I should stop having my hopes up."
"Uhm..! We can put something on it right now!" Lala said and started to panic when she saw that Coco was sad again.
"It’s okay, Lala.. It’s okay." Coco assured the fairy, shaking her head to make her stop fretting and fussing over her sulking self, "It’s just me being arrogant and all, don’t coddle me too much, okay?"
Lala frowned. "You deserve to be spoiled though.. You barely buy things for yourself, but buy a lot of things for those mean men! If you can’t spoil yourself, then I’ll do it."
"That’s sweet and all, but it’s really alright." Coco laughed quietly and caressed the fairy’s head.
"Anyways, let’s start with the vegetables, I’m sure they’re all ready to harvest." She quickly changed the topic so Lala’s mood wouldn’t dampen further, and somehow, it worked.
For the rest of the morning, the two of them harvested the carrots, basils, and radishes— most of the space in the basket was taken up by the carrots while the rest was by the radish.
Coco made another basket from banana tree leaves that Lala grew at the last moment and put the trimmed basils on that handmade basket.
Also, no, Coco didn’t have scissors so she had to improvise— she used her forefinger and thumbnail.
With the harvesting done, Coco stood up and huffed.
"How do I put this in the inventory?" Coco asked, her eyes shifting from her empty garden to the floating inventory.
[ Simply desire for the item to be stored in the inventory. ]
Coco read the instructions before staring at the basket in her arms, her eyes narrowing into a concentrated glare.
Then, all of a sudden, the basket disappeared.
"Woah!" Lala’s mouth went agape, "That was amazing! Where did the basket go? Is it in the inventory?"
"Yeah, it is." Coco said, staring at the icon of the basil inside the basket with a small smirk, "And I have nine more slots to use.. What do you say? Should we fill it with fruits?"
"Yes, please!"
