My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 187: Sightseeing the Desert
Chapter 187: Sightseeing the Desert
The following day after our celebration with the royal family of Kalusia, I woke up in one of the guest rooms in the castle with Melina sleeping right next to me and Yoru lying between us.
I blushed momentarily when I saw the princess sleeping peacefully, accidentally moving a bit harshly and waking her up.
She slowly opened her beautiful eyes and saw me lying next to her with a somewhat embarrassed expression.
"Nngh, five more minutes..." she said, closing her eyes again and hugging Yoru like a pillow.
I silently chuckled, got up from the bed, and got ready to go to our next destination as soon as Melina and Yoru were fully awake. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Thankfully, the battle-maids arrived just a few minutes later and woke them up to have breakfast.
Our next destination was Aridonia’s capital and the towns that surrounded it, as it was the closest to Kalusia, and I wanted to see how it was doing since the last time I visited.
Using my teleportation spell, I brought the group with me, and we appeared in Cactustown, which was the first place I visited when we got to the desert.
I had seen a few other settlements before arriving in Cactustown, but since we didn’t stop there, I couldn’t pinpoint their exact location to teleport to those areas.
We ended up appearing a few feet away from Gahira’s home, the lady who gave me coffee when we first visited, and the house that I cast an enchantment so they wouldn’t get too cold during the nights.
A few seconds after we appeared, the lady and her son were leaving their homes with smiles and instantly spotted us.
Gahira approached us and bowed slightly as she thanked us for our help the last time we were there, but there was nothing to be thankful for since I saw it as a trade. She gave me coffee, and I gave her magic.
The woman invited us to her tiny house and prepared cold cups of coffee for everyone, making me create a few blocks of ice to dump on them and make them even more refreshing.
Melina said that she had never tried coffee before, but I knew that was technically a lie since she used to be a heavy coffee drinker in our past life.
’Hmm, maybe her tastes changed?’ I wondered.
However, as soon as her lips made contact with the cold coffee, her eyes lit up and sparkled, gleefully downing the whole cup.
’Nevermind...’ I thought with a smile as I stared at the princess enjoying herself.
Before leaving Cactustown, we gave Gahira and her son some fruits and veggies that we brought from Kalusia and left a few pieces of boar meat, too. We even gave them a fridge for them to keep the ingredients fresh.
It was the same type of fridge that I had created during my first year in this world, but now that I used my void pocket to store almost everything, I didn’t have much use for them.
Gahira tried giving us a small leather bag filled with coffee beans, but we declined them since I knew that they sold pounds of it at the capital, and I didn’t want to take the beans they grew themselves.
After saying our goodbyes, we teleported to our next destination and arrived at the capital of Aridonia.
Melina was entranced at the merchant stands that were placed all around the main street, and as we made our way through the bustling area, I guided the group towards the home of Abel, the little kid.
Abel was the child that I found alone in front of his house after his two parents were kidnapped by the sand cobras. However, after we saved all of the prisoners, events started happening so fast that I never got to see him reunite with his parents.
When I arrived, I knocked on the door, but nobody answered, so I made my way to the tailor shop, where I interrogated the mother’s stupid boss.
Nevertheless, the man was nowhere to be seen, and I was greeted by Abel with a bright smile as soon as I entered the shop with my group.
"Big-bro Ichiro!" Abel exclaimed as he ran over to give me a hug.
’Big-bro, huh?’ I thought, giving him a slight smile and patting his head.
A woman approached from behind the desk, and Abel held onto the bottom of her skirt, pulling her slightly as he introduced me.
"I’m so happy to meet you. My name is Livia... I was told that it was thanks to you that everything was solved. T-thank you!" the woman exclaimed, her voice breaking at the end of her sentence as a tear formed under her eye.
After consoling the woman and telling her that I was just trying to help, I inquired what had happened to her previous boss.
Livia told us that Erden, her previous boss and owner of the tailor shop, was punished for trying to keep her kidnapping a secret and was stripped of all his businesses and most of his possessions.
Still, she told us that he was now working as a delivery man for different stores, so they saw him every once in a while when they received new materials.
Her husband, whose name was "Azad," was given the authority over the hospital where he used to work.
He used to be an assistant to the doctor, but that didn’t mean that he was less qualified than him, and after the doctor was sentenced to life in prison, Azad was given the title and ownership of the hospital.
As we happily shared stories of what he had found after that event, Livia complimented Melina’s beauty and offered to make her a dress on the house.
Melina was confused at first, saying that she wasn’t the one who truly helped them, but the woman was passionate about tailoring and expressed how she had never seen such a perfect model for her dresses.
’I can’t disagree with the woman. Melina is the most beautiful woman in my eyes, so of course she would be a great model...’
