Chapter 188: Magic Pictures

While we were at Livia’s shop, she and the other three tailors were so entranced with Melina’s beauty that they ended up taking her to the back so they could try their best designs on her.

Livia even thought about calling a man who was an artist so that he could draw Melina wearing the dresses as a way to promote her business.

’She handles this place so much better than that Erden guy...’ I thought.

The previous boss was just sitting behind the desk while the tailors worked in the back, but Livia was active in every front of the store. In fact, it was the first time I had heard someone saying they wanted to promote their shop.

As far as I could remember, only big stores in the capital of Sephyr had the money to make flyers for promotion, so it wasn’t what I expected Livia to say.

However, it made me come up with a great idea that I didn’t know how I hadn’t thought about it before.

"Livia. You don’t need to call the artist... I wanna try something..." I said, making the lady raise an eyebrow.

Still, seeing my determined eyes made her smile and curiously inquire what I was thinking.

There was no easy way for me to explain my idea to her, so I told her to pass me a piece of papyrus for me to do a few tests.

However, before I could start casting any magic on the sheet, Melina came out of the backroom wearing a silk blue dress, which was one of the most formal attire that ladies could wear in Aridonia.

The outer layer was slightly see-through, and the inner layers showcased the mid-riff of her stomach as the skirt flowed down to her ankles.

Her face’s bottom half was covered with a delicate silk veil, and her head was adorned with a thin, gold chain that had a small sapphire dangling in the front, highlighting the blue of her eyes.

The princess blushed as she noticed I kept staring at her, utterly dumbfounded at her beauty.

"D-does it look okay?" She shyly asked.

"Huh...?" I pondered aloud.

Livia and my companions started chuckling as if they were making fun of me, causing me to snap out of my trance as I flushed and slapped my face slightly.

"You look beautiful, Mel..." I replied, making her smile brightly as she held the side of her dress and spun around gracefully.

’Mhmm, that’s perfect...’ I thought, grabbing the papyrus and creating a brand new spell.

’A picture works by capturing the light with a lens... or something like that...’

It’s not like I knew the exact science behind how it worked, but it wasn’t necessary when casting magic, as my imagination could fill in the blanks for parts of the process that I missed.

I focused on "capturing" the light in front of me and transforming it into a picture that appeared on the papyrus, showing a detailed colored photograph of Melina wearing her dress while spinning around.

"Would something like this work?" I asked Livia, showing her the results.

Melina approached quickly to see the picture, not because she wanted to see how she looked in it, but because she smelled magic she didn’t know about.

"H-How?" Livia asked, perplexed at the details of the photo.

Honestly, it would have looked much better on a different piece of paper, but I couldn’t be too picky since papyrus was all they used.

Of course, Melina instantly started asking what kind of magic I used to make it, so I gave her a quick explanation of how a photograph worked.

Well, it wasn’t a very accurate lesson, but it was good enough for her to understand the concept.

Livia and the other tailors were now even more excited to dress up Melina in different attires, and I had no problem taking her pictures since all I had to do was admire my wife in pretty dresses.

Still, after she tried on twenty different outfits, I was starting to feel like a dad in a woman’s clothing shop.

Once we were finally done, Livia invited us to have dinner at her place, which I was feeling a little apprehensive about since we were a large group.

Nonetheless, we had lots of food in our void pockets, so we accepted with the condition that they let us share it with them, too.

It just wouldn’t feel good to have a family of three feeding six guests, especially weeks after they had been through some pretty hard times.

Livia chuckled playfully and accepted my condition as we made our way to her house.

Azad, Livia’s husband, arrived a few minutes after us and introduced himself. He had already seen us one time when we saved him from the corrupt doctor, but he expressed his regret for not being able to thank us before.

Of course, we didn’t care about any of that and told him that I was glad that he had been promoted to the position of doctor.

Apparently, he was only working as an assistant since he didn’t have the money to open his own hospital, but after the Sultan gave him ownership, their family had been doing better than ever.

Azad was the owner and primary doctor of one of the biggest hospitals in the capital, and Livia owned the tailor shop while also being one of the best dressmakers in their nation.

’Hmmm, feels like this family might become pretty famous around here...’ I thought.

After spending a lovely evening with the family, we went to the inn to get some rest.

Same as before, we got two rooms, one with four beds and one with two, the latter being for the two maids.

Melina was lying on the bed next to mine and rolled around, making eye contact with me as we both lay there silently for a few seconds.

Then, she smiled solemnly, making me blush as I wondered aloud what was so funny.

"I’m just happy... I’m glad little Abel and his parents are alright..." she muttered before closing her eyes, falling asleep almost instantly. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

I let out a silent chuckle, impressed that she still had her ability from our past life to fall asleep in one second, and followed along.
