My Apocalypse Territory-Chapter 444 - 413: Testing
Chapter 444: Chapter 413: Testing
Beiting and the major Sanctuaries in Tiannan Province were different; the adventurer’s union could not enter, but the high-tier rune equipment of ranks C and B could not be purchased at will.
Tang Yu set up a Consuming Crystal...membership card system.
Bronze card member, silver card member, gold card member, platinum member, diamond member, etc... Upgrading membership level would increase the purchasing quota of high-tier rune equipment. Gold card members and above even had the opportunity to customize their equipment.
In addition to increasing spending limits, selling rare minerals and materials to the market would also increase membership points.
In just three days, rune equipment of ranks E and D soon sold out, and a significant amount of C-tier rune equipment was sold; the inventory of rare minerals in the Territory doubled in some cases.
The enthusiasm of the Awakeners from Beiting even frightened Tang Yu.
During this period, there were no incidents of Awakeners causing trouble.
On the one hand, the strength of the 800 black-armored Awakeners from the Transfer Station was formidable. Inside the market and all over the Transfer Station, these black-armored figures were visible, their robust presence unmistakable, the weakest amongst them at the Fifth Tier Peak, and the auras of tiers six, seven, eight, and nine permeated the space above the Transfer Station. Any Awakener with ill intentions had to weigh whether they could be killed on the spot.
On the other hand, within the Defense Circle of Beiting, order was first-rate.
In many dark corners of large Sanctuaries, unsavory things happened; however, in Beiting—at least in the Base City, in the Satellite City, at the Transfer Station outpost, and even on the main roads inside the Circle—these belonged to areas of order, and few Awakeners dared to provoke Beiting’s laws.
Even powerful figures within the Base City had to be conscious of their actions and impact under mutual checks and balances, at most making some moves within the boundaries of rules to avoid giving others a handle on them.
On Tang Yu’s fourth day at the Transfer Station, Grey Blade received an invitation letter.
The letter only mentioned having long admired his name and specially set a banquet to get acquainted; other Beiting notables were likewise invited. Interestingly, despite their admiration, his name was not written on the invitation.
Clearly, because he kept to himself (having returned to his Territory through the Transmission Array after setting up the Sub-territory), the inviter had used every possible means and still failed to find out his name; the highest responsible person of the Transfer Station was Grey Blade, and Tang Yu hadn’t interfered with the business here at all.
The signatory of the letter was named Lu Changhong, whom Tang Yu didn’t recognize.
Grey Blade was well-informed about Beiting, "He is the President of the Beiting equipment manufacturing company; both the equipment manufacturing company and the potion manufacturing company belong to Beiting officials and are the two largest companies."
"So, it has finally come."
Tang Yu closed the letter, revealing a smile.
The market here only occupied a very small part of Beiting’s vast market, but the quality of the rune equipment was evident to all, and the customers were increasing. It would have been strange if it hadn’t attracted the attention of Beiting’s high level.
After all, he was cutting out a piece of their cake, and continuously so.
"Boss, are we attending the banquet? It’s definitely not with good intentions," Grey Blade inquired.
"Go, why not."
Meeting notables, making friends, and the like—forget it.
Tang Yu was not naive, and surely the high-class figures of Beiting weren’t foolish either.
The banquet could only mean one of two possibilities: one was to probe and then plan further.
The other, a trap like at the Banquet of Hongmen—ambush with eight hundred axemen, poison the food and drink, and directly eliminate him, the behind-the-scenes Boss who was encroaching on their interests.
Not to mention the implications of a large-scale battle breaking out within Beiting City—even high-level figures couldn’t afford that. And even if the worst-case scenario happened, Tang Yu didn’t care at all.
With power, one could do whatever they wished!
"Let’s first see what their intentions are. After all, they are the local snakes of Beiting. If they really want to hinder our business, it would be somewhat troublesome."
...
Mountain and Sea Pavilion.
Nestled within the most bustling streets of Beiting Base City, is an enterprise owned by a certain high-ranking individual; this location is also the most prestigious banquet venue in Beiting City.
This day,
Tang Yu, accompanied by Grey Blade, Nancy, the Personal Guard, and some attendants, accepted an invitation and came to the Mountain and Sea Pavilion.
The decor here was classical with a poetic charm, understated yet exuding luxury. Upon stepping inside, the air they breathed was noticeably fresher, contrasting sharply with the outdoor environment where the sun wasn’t visible for six days a week, further highlighting the Mountain and Sea Pavilion’s class.
Even the concentration of Source Qi had slightly risen, invigorating the spirit.
Tang Yu narrowed his eyes, his gaze falling upon the peculiar plants potted on both sides, it was these plants, Swallowing and exhaling Source Qi, that made the surrounding Source Qi purer.
This indicated that the owner behind the Mountain and Sea Pavilion was no ordinary person.
As soon as he entered the private room, Tang Yu saw a middle-aged man in a suit coming forward to greet them.
After some pleasantries, Tang Yu ’inadvertently’ revealed his surname.
"Boss Tang truly is a young and promising individual. I, President Lu, am quite ashamed of my inferiority."
"You flatter me, President Lu."
Lu Changhong appeared very enthusiastic, and Tang Yu cooperated by engaging in banter with him.
Then Lu Changhong introduced the other important individuals present at the banquet:
"This is the president of the Potion company, President Kang Jiaming; this is Boss Jin, involved with high-end clothing business; and additionally, we have Commander Zhao, dealing with hunting, procuring, and wholesaling Advanced materials..."
Tang Yu glanced over.
Some had smiles similar to Lu Changhong’s on their faces, some were expressionless, and others glanced over and continued their conversations with those beside them.
It seemed pretty normal... the issue was, these people, all of them had at least a -1000 in favorability!
Potions were also sold in the Transfer Station’s marketplace, acquiring rare materials from Awakeners—not to mention, certainly some were impacted in their interests.
They came with an aggressive agenda and impure intentions!
Lu Changhong and the others were also observing this secretive boss who funded the establishment of the Transfer Station.
Young!
Mysterious!
In the intelligence reports, this Boss Tang had only been seen once when the Floating Ship landed, and then no trace of him was found thereafter.
Regarding the average-looking young man beside Boss Tang, they had more intelligence.
He arrived at Beiting’s Defense Circle from the outside world a little over a month ago; initially, his team consisted of just over a dozen people, each of considerable strength. The Grey Blade Commander had remarkable means. In a short period, the Mercenary Corps went from nothing to prominence, quickly becoming one of the front-runners in the Mercenary World.
His personal strength remained a mystery to date.
Boss Tang and his female companion likely contained their energy; judging by appearances alone, one could not deduce their strength. However, the eight accompanying guards closely following them were unmistakably top-notch experts.
Their vigilant gazes, unmanifested yet potent power, and professional demeanor were not qualities that could be easily cultivated.
President Lu and the others were not weak by any standards, their insight exceptionally keen. They internally speculated where this group had sprung from.
Even though it was Beiting, they could not grasp the entire situation within Daxia Country, and communication with Sub-territories’ large Sanctuaries was greatly limited. They were aware of some remarkable forces among the citizens but could not see through the backgrounds of people like Tang Yu.
They could only guess that they must have discovered some Secret Realm, possessing formidable strength and a strong foundation.
Not to be underestimated!
