My Apocalypse Territory-Chapter 443 - 412: Store Opening
Chapter 443: Chapter 412: Store Opening
The unnamed Transfer Station.
Since Grey Blade purchased the construction rights and hired a large number of construction workers, this place had become bustling.
With no regard for costs, this Transfer Station, covering an area of over one hundred thousand square meters, was quickly built.
Buildings four to five stories high towered around the central square, with bars, restaurants, and hotels... All sorts of living and entertainment facilities were fully equipped here.
The Transfer Station was not enclosed by walls; instead, a three-meter-high iron fence wrapped around the outer edge with some simple traps laid out to deal with any Demonized Beasts that slipped past the Defense Circle.
Other Transfer Stations were the same... Within the circle, nobody would pay a high price to build an impractical wall.
At most, they would only set up a fence, but Grey Blade had gone ahead and removed that, allowing Awakeners traveling by to see the layered structures inside the Transfer Station from afar.
The Transfer Station had been completed for several days, and occasionally passersby would stop here, but they all left quickly.
Many people couldn’t help but gossip about the abruptly built Transfer Station in this place.
"I heard it was built by a group of outsiders, pretty capable, huh? They’ve made the Transfer Station quite large."
"To gain construction rights, you at least have to be an Advanced team, far beyond what our ordinary Mercenary Corps can compare with... However, building a Transfer Station in this location seems a bit unwise."
"How so?"
The two entered the Transfer Station and looked around; the newly opened Transfer Station already had quite a few survivors, some passing through and stopping to rest, and some were small vendors from Beiting, peddling their wares.
It was already quite lively.
The slightly older Awakener chuckled softly, "This Transfer Station, indeed, is located on a main thoroughfare and many Awakeners pass by here, but... it’s too close to the Beiting Base City."
"Despite the crowds, most people rest here for at most a couple of dozen minutes, grab a meal, and then head on their way. The chances are slim to find an Awakener who would set up camp here; after all, walking a bit further takes you back to Beiting.
Not only that, but a large portion of the Transfer Station’s income comes from selling supplies, yet the Awakeners passing through are either just starting out or preparing to return to Beiting from outside the circle... Supplies are almost impossible to sell in this location.
Think about it, the goods at the Transfer Station have to include transport costs, so they’re definitely more expensive than in the Base City. At the Middle Stage, or even some Transfer Stations closer to the outskirts of the circle, Awakeners are forced to buy, but spending here rather than walking a bit further to Beiting would be imprudent, since the service level in the Base City is certainly much higher than that at the Transfer Station.
Here, you can build a Transfer Station, but the returns are definitely not high, and there’s a good chance of operating at a loss."
After this sequence of analyses, the younger Awakener found it very useful and nodded in agreement again and again.
Having a mentor is different; left to his own devices, he couldn’t have seen so many intricacies at a glance.
"It’s a pity that this Transfer Station, impressive as it is, just chose the wrong location."
"Heh heh, after all, they’re outsiders with too little understanding of Beiting. Maybe they were swindled by someone else into choosing a location that looks good at first glance but is practically of little value."
The two bought the cheapest carbonated drinks from a drink shop in the Transfer Station, sat there for half an hour, and discussed in low voices.
Just as they were getting ready to leave, the younger Awakener suddenly looked up over the elder’s shoulder, his hand trembling as he pointed, "Look, a Flying Boat!"
"Cut it out, a Flying Boat, and I can fly like a pig!"
The slightly older Awakener put down his now-empty drink, glanced back from the corner of his eye, and his expression froze.
There really was a Flying Boat?!
...
Above in the sky,
A small dot appeared first, then swiftly grew larger.
Initially, the Awakeners in the Transfer Station thought it was a Flying Demonized Beast attacking, many standing ready for battle... But in the blink of an eye, the small black dot turned into a massive object.
Like a ship, its body floated in the air, its wings connected to the main cannon slightly folded downwards, as if they were arms holding two cannon muzzles.
This flying ship slowly started to navigate toward the Transfer Station, steadily decreasing in height.
"What’s that?"
"A ship that can fly... Flying Ship??"
"Hey, look! People from the Transfer Station are coming out!"
Led by Grey Blade, over two hundred Awakeners in black Combat Uniforms walked out of the Transfer Station.
Many Awakeners, bewildered and tense, clutched their weapons tightly. They were anticipating another attack following the Demonized Beasts, possibly from aliens this time. Yet, the guards from the Transfer Station stepped out without hesitation to face the threat of these outsiders.
Such good people!
Heroes!
The two Awakeners who ran out of the beverage shop were young and excited as they stepped out and saw over two hundred people in black clearing an area outside the Transfer Station. Then, the gigantic Floating Ship slowly descended onto the cleared space.
Awakeners: "(⊙...⊙)?"
...
"Sail" touched ground, and Tang Yu stood at the bow, his gaze piercing through the entire Transfer Station.
Most of the Awakeners were full of confusion and astonishment, while those gathered by Grey Blade were mostly shocked and excited. A few core members had followed Grey Blade from Green Shadow to Beiting, and they now puffed out their chests, faces beaming with pride.
Tang Yu lightly leaped down from the bow and stepped onto the ground.
Nancy swooshed into position behind him, and eight members of the Personal Guard also jumped down from the bow, positioning themselves to the left and right.
The Awakeners behind him began to move the cargo. These menial tasks were left to others to manage, as Tang Yu, led by Grey Blade, took a tour around the Transfer Station and then headed to the secret base that Grey Blade had already prepared.
...
The underground space of the Transfer Station.
This area wasn’t as vast as the natural caverns beneath Luoxia, but it was still not small. It had been excavated around the clock by several Earth Series Ability Users under Grey Blade.
High-power Source Power crystal lights were embedded in the ceiling, brightly illuminating the dark, enclosed space.
Tang Yu planned to place both the Sub-territory fortress and the Transmission Array in this underground space.
Grey Blade had already prepared the materials, which were piled up like a small hill on a clearing not far away.
Tang Yu walked a few steps closer, his personal domain unfolded, and he reached out his hand, causing countless materials to levitate into the air nearby.
Along with a "ding" in his mind, Source Crystals from the distant Green Shadow warehouse slid down, turning into a torrent of energy that instantly appeared, engulfing the materials floating in mid-air.
Whoosh—
Excess materials were repelled as the fortress’s load-bearing columns rose from the center, the exterior walls took shape, and the interior structures visibly subdivided in rapid succession, as if the construction process of a building recorded from start to finish was being played back at a thousand, ten thousand times the speed, unfolding before everyone’s eyes.
In just a few seconds, the top closed up, and the steel fortress took shape before them.
"No matter how many times I see it, this power of creation never ceases to amaze," Grey Blade praised, then turned to Tang Yu, "Boss, since there’s nothing left for me to do here, I’ll head back to my Territ—"
"No, wait until things here are on the right track," Tang Yu interrupted.
Grey Blade: "..."
...
The grandest shopping mall building at the north end of the Transfer Station square facing south had kept its doors shut until that day.
Through the doors and windows, one could see the exquisite interior decoration, yet it seemed very empty.
That day, as a Floating Ship landed outside the Transfer Station, the doors of the mall also opened, and countless Awakeners in Combat Uniforms were seen carrying huge boxes as tall as a person into the warehouse behind the mall.
Before long, the Awakeners who remained because of the Floating Airship noticed that the shelves in the mall were already lined with merchandise.
Products specially transported by Floating Ship?
Who exactly was the backing of the Transfer Station, to be capable of such a grand gesture?
Finally, driven by curiosity, someone walked into the mall.
From the lower to the higher floors, the grade of equipment increased in order. The first floor featured mostly E-grade weapons and armor, unimpressive in appearance, but through the patient introduction of the staff and after trying them out, Awakeners quickly realized the value of the equipment.
They were unfamiliar with what E-grade equipment meant, but at a similar quality level, the equipment here was much cheaper than what was sold elsewhere in Beiting.
The second floor had D-grade equipment, the third floor C-grade... The further they looked, the more astonished the Awakeners became.
The equipment testing area, specially constructed in the mall, was overwhelmed with people that day.
Some skeptical Awakeners tried clashing the weapons from the testing area with their own, only to have theirs snap in two.
The sharpness was terrifying!
There were also scrolls capable of casting powerful Magic, Puppets that could fight on one’s behalf until dawn, and even transformations into Demon Wolf Knights... These dazzling array of products truly blinded the eyes of the Beiting Awakeners.
Without the need for the backup promotional plans Grey Blade had prepared, news about the Transfer Station selling high-end Equipment spread rapidly on the same day.
Within just three days, the news had spread throughout the entire Base City of Beiting.
Countless Awakeners came flocking in!
