My Apocalypse Territory-Chapter 445 - 414: From Green Shadow!
Chapter 445: Chapter 414: From Green Shadow!
"Boss Tang, please have a seat."
Lu Changhong’s gaze casually swept over Tang Yu and his companions, and then he smiled invitingly at Tang Yu to sit down.
Nancy and Grey Blade followed him to the main table, the Personal Guard and a few other accompanying personnel took seats at another table... Lu Changhong and other executives also had quite a few attendants.
The dishes were served quickly, all exquisitely prepared and delicious, with mutant beast meat of no low grade as ingredients.
Tang Yu had heard that at Mountain and Sea Pavilion, each table’s meal costed at least a thousand Source Crystals, and for more expensive ones, thousands, tens of thousands, even over a hundred thousand wasn’t unheard of. If converted to pre-apocalypse prices, it amounted to a princely sum of several million for one meal.
Let alone ordinary survivors, even some Awakeners who were relatively well-off couldn’t believe they had risked their lives for months only to see it not even enough to buy one meal here.
First, Tang Yu used the "Insight Eye" to discreetly scan the area, and then he ate a few bites, finding the taste quite good.
It deserved being made by a master chef, but he felt more so that Mountain and Sea Pavilion was extortionate.
His own Territory’s restaurants wouldn’t dare to charge so much — wouldn’t that mean Yan couldn’t even afford to eat with a week’s salary?
The others at the table merely took a few symbolic tastes, more interested in striking up conversation to probe into Tang Yu’s background.
Tang Yu was well aware that if he showed any weakness or lack of strength, these people would pounce like crocodiles, ready to snap up everything they could from his Transfer Station and rune Equipment.
Yet, he didn’t want to waste time by being superficially polite at the dinner table and asked directly, "May I know why the esteemed hosts have invited me here today?"
The faces of those opposite him flickered, unsure whether to admire the frankness of the young man or to feel put off by his impatience.
After exchanging glances, Lu Changhong smiled and began;
"Boss Tang is straightforward, and so I won’t beat around the bush." He paused before continuing, "This invitation was actually intended as a proposal for cooperation, for us to earn wealth together."
"Oh? Cooperation."
"I’ve noticed that the quality of your equipment is very high, but production seems lacking, unable to meet the enormous demand of the Awakener market. I have a suggestion: why not sell the equipment blueprints to Beiting? Name your price, and I’m sure with the capabilities of Beiting Base City we won’t let you down. This way, Boss Tang can earn a handsome sum, and the Awakeners in Beiting won’t have to suffer from shortages anymore."
Tang Yu inwardly scoffed.
He had just claimed to be the head of an Equipment Company, now he switched to representing Beiting Base City.
His expression unchanging, Tang Yu said with a light laugh, "No worries, a shortage in production capacity can be improved. I believe that once we expand our production line, we won’t disappoint the Awakeners of Beiting."
Lu Changhong’s smile slightly faded, but he wasn’t too surprised, switching his tone to suggest, "How about this: I and a few of the other executives here will buy in bulk from Boss Tang, and then sell through our channels. In Beiting, we have quite some influence and the goods sold through our channels could be marked up by at least fifty percent."
His smile remained, yet it held an underlying note of danger.
Kang Jiaming and others lifted their heads up a bit, watching intently.
They had plainly shown their interest in meddling in the business of Equipment and Potions, and as local powers in Beiting, they had sufficient influence, demanding a significant share.
If not for intelligence suggesting that an extremely powerful proponent likely existed under Boss Tang’s command, and that those Floating Ships also made them quite wary, they might have taken more direct measures.
But there were already veiled threats in their words.
Tang Yu seemed oblivious, picking up a tenderly fried piece of mutant beast thigh and placing it in Nancy’s bowl. Nancy focused on handling her chopsticks to successfully lift the meat to her mouth.
Lu Changhong’s smile faded as he set down his wine glass.
Then he heard Tang Yu say, "One, we don’t lack customers, and two, we don’t plan to sell at too high a price. After all, in Green Shadow, we constantly consider the regular Awakeners, aiming to make it affordable so Awakeners can buy an extra piece of weapon for a higher chance of survival outdoors. We mustn’t always fixate on the minor profits at hand since we stand at a higher position, we must seek to benefit humanity, clearing the obstacles of the age..."
Tang Yu’s dismissive words gradually drew a look of anger on Lu Changhong’s face.
He just wanted to speak when he stopped abruptly. freewebnσvel.cøm
Two words flipped continuously in his mind.
Green Shadow!
Being a high-ranking official of Beiting, Lu Changhong was privileged enough to access intelligence from Defense Circles’ Sanctuaries beyond, and being the head of an Equipment Company, his focus often lay on rune equipment.
Green Shadow Sanctuary, known for its superior equipment manufacturing capabilities, had long been his focal point.
He had intentions of acquiring Green Shadow’s rune equipment but was distressed by the distance. Even if it were him, he couldn’t afford to send people back and forth between Beiting and Green Shadow, most likely losing the majority on the route.
Thus initially, he had never connected Tang Yu and his party with Green Shadow.
His previous assumption was that they had come from some Sanctuary in the north.
The south and the north, even if information exchange was heavily restricted, much less personal visits. Only Beiting’s Guardian God would be capable of that, not him, Lu Changhong.
Now the words he prepared to say were choked back in his throat.
Intelligence had confirmed Green Shadow possessed Transcendent forces!
It could be the seemingly harmless Tang Yu sitting right in front of him!
Awakening Tier Perfection was just tactical-level power; though strong, it wasn’t enough to fear. But Transcendent was at strategic level, a completely different echelon.
Lu Changhong had seen the formidable strength of the Transcendent.
Seeing Tang Yu’s smiling demeanor now seemed suddenly terrifying, like a fierce beast.
Only curses echoed endlessly in his mind.
The others, not so attuned to the significance of "Green Shadow," saw their expressions change gradually from gloomy to stormy.
At this moment,
on one side of the table, a middle-aged man who was not introduced by Lu Changhong and had been quiet all along as if just an attendant, suddenly spoke, "Well said. Those of us who stand on high must look at the world with a broader view, clearing the obstacles, not squabbling over trivial benefits!"
Lu Changhong and the others showed embarrassed expressions, none daring to counter, and pretended to earnestly focus on the food on the table.
The rugged-looking middle-aged man extended his hand, "Allow me to introduce myself. My surname is Yao, with a single name, Jun, currently serving as the director of Beiting’s ’Director of Demon Beast Investigation Bureau’..."
Tang Yu shook his hand; it felt rough.
The Director of the Demon Bureau, undoubtedly a highly influential figure within Beiting.
Among those present, he was the only one from whom Tang Yu sensed a hint of danger.
Yao Jun continued, "I don’t deal in the superficial. I’m just looking to purchase a batch of advanced rune Equipments, and could also offer mineral resources in part exchange, but the equipment must be prioritized for our Anti-Demon Bureau. May I know what Boss Tang thinks?"
