Chapter 120: Trending Headline

Serial number?

Cassie panicked, ’Is she bluffing? Was there actually a serial number?’ she chewed on her lip, watching as the number of viewers escalated from a mere twenty thousand to over eighty thousand viewers.

The comments came in surges, with her fans voicing out their support and egging Cassie on to reveal the bag’s serial number.

’I don’t remember if there’s a serial number. If I say there isn’t and it turns out there is, I’ll become a laughing stock. But, if there actually isn’t one, and I say there is, I’ll be caught out.’ she said, clutching tightly onto the bag.

-B.G: You’ve gone surprisingly quiet, don’t tell me you don’t even know where the serial number is.

Cassie retorted sharply, "Serial number? If you want me to show you the serial number, you’ll have to show your face to me. It’s only fair I see the person laying these false claims."

-B.G: You come on live streams all the time and talk crap.

-B.G: But when it comes down to it, you’re all bark and no bite.

-B.G: Wasn’t it also like this with your acting degree? Didn’t someone claim it was forged?

Cassie’s heart sunk.

She remembered when Brooke had brought up her fake degree, fortunately, she was able to get in contact with the college staff member who helped forged the degree in her name.

He pulled some strings and had the site shut down for some days, until the frenzy was swept under the rug.

"You’re deflecting because you won’t show your face!" Cassie asserted, "You’re the one that’s all bark-" Right in the middle of her sentence, she got cut short when the comments went wild.

-"B.G just posted on their page!"-

-"She posted the fuggin list!"-

-"O.M.G! Is this real?!"-

Cassie’s camera smile twitched, "W-What’s going on guys?"

-B.G: "Who did you say was all bark?"

Reading that comment, Cassie immediately had a bad feeling. She quickly ended the live and went on B.G’s page to see what the entire commotion was about.

She saw the post and tapped on it, only for it to be the list of all the graduants of the course she claimed to have a degree in, from the exact year she claimed to have studied!

She checked the comments under the post and they were frightening.

-"I graduated from this class and could’ve sworn Cassie wasn’t in it!"

-"Cassie’s name really isn’t here, that’s crazy!"

-"Did she actually fake her degree? Really?"

-"Someone verify, is this real?"

-"B.G just did a mic drop and went off, lol, I like her."

-"Is this why the college’s website has been down?"

"No..no...no...no..." she whimpered, running her fingers through her hair, her watery gaze stared at the comments which kept coming in fast.

"This can’t be happening." She said in disbelief, as her so called fans called her out to explain the fake certificate. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

Desperate, she called their contact in the college, but he wasn’t answering any of her calls. After multiple failed attempts, she reached for the fake bag and dashed out of her room to go meet him.

Fortunately for her, she met her father downstairs, alongside Ethan who she didn’t even realize was around.

"Father-" her voice was drowned out by Ethan’s shouting.

"You’re trying to piss me off, aren’t you?!" He raged, stomping his foot on the floor like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

He flashed his phone before Luther, who looked pale as a ghost. Cassie immediately thought to hide upstairs, but Ethan caught sight of her.

"Just the bitch I came here to see!" He raised his voice, "Come here and explain to me why my name is being dragged through the mud."

Cassie could guess he was talking about the post B.G made last night. She descended the stairs, keeping her hand on her stomach, reminding Ethan that she was pregnant.

"That woman is an attention whore, the bag is an original, don’t listen to her." She said, thankful he hadn’t heard about the live she had just finished.

Or the post about her fake degree.

Ethan kept his scowl, "Cassie, you’d better not be screwing me over!"

She folded her arms, "You have some nerve to show up here, after abandoning us like that! Who the hell even let you in here? Father? Why is the bastard back in our house?!"

Luther pinched his temples, "Cassie did you do what I asked you to?"

She shook her head, "I called his assistant, Mr Grayson is outside of the country right now. He says he’ll let us know once he’s back."

At the mention of the Grayson heir, Ethan’s eyes flared up with rage. "Grayson? What are you doing talking to him?"

Luther sighed, "Ethan, calm down-"

Cassie cut him off, "The Grayson heir is one of daddy’s shareholders now." She gloated.

A vein popped at the side of Ethan’s head, he turned to Luther, demanding an explanation. But he dropped his shoulders and let out a sigh.

"I’m working on getting them back, that’s why Cassie is setting up a meeting with the heir." He explained.

Ethan laughed, "Your family is filled with blood sucking leeches, you got tired of mooching off me, so you turn to the next rich man around, right?"

Cassie twisted her lips into a grin, "Does it hurt, getting replaced? Weren’t you happy doing it to Brooke? You simply got a dose of your own medicine." She taunted, her tone sultry.

"Cassie that’s enough! Weren’t you going somewhere just now? You can leave-" Just as he said that, Luther’s phone rang cutting him off. He reached into his pocket to answer, only to be greeted by the number one search notification on his phone, followed strictly by text messages from the PR department of his agency.

He looked over his shoulder at Cassie, then cautiously tapped on the link sent.

"What the hell..." Luther raised his brows and widened his eyes at the headlines that was currently trending.

-"Prime star agency’s slavery contract."-

It read strictly in bold letters, attached underneath were photos of the contracts signed by his employees, uploaded by an anonymous source...
