Chapter 59: Sweet romance in the kitchen - Part 1

"I have a suggestion to make," Sienna said as she sat at the dining table after changing her clothes. Since the dining table was ginormous and could house more than ten people at once, she had requested the others to join her well.

Firstly, it was lonely to eat on her own, and second, she genuinely liked their company. They didn’t make her feel as if she were with strangers.

"Please, Miss Lawrence, don’t be so polite with us," Xavier said, lightening the mood, and Sienna smiled, letting out a hot breath.

"I know you guys have already decided how you’ll take turns protecting me," Sienna started, darting her gaze around before settling on Kyrell, who was sitting on her right. "But I want Amy to be with me every day. I know it might sound a little odd. I have an inkling that whoever wants to harm me will approach her for sure."

Kyrell glanced at his friends, who didn’t say anything for quite some time. Sighing softly, he took it upon himself to clarify the matter. "Miss Lawrence, to be honest, we had intended to confuse everyone by swapping your security team every day. This way, no one would dare approach us or try to use us."

"I know, and I get your sentiments. But this is the only way I can think of at the moment to lure the snake out of its hiding." Sienna’s lips thinned into a hard line, and she clasped her knuckles.

Kyrell’s arrangements would have been perfect if she hadn’t had moles in her company. Since she did, she had to plan accordingly and prepare in advance.

"We understand, Miss Lawrence. I think it’s a feasible plan," Xavier answered for all of them.

They had discussed this matter in private after Sienna had requested them to spread rumors about Kyrell and her. If her intuitions were correct, which they felt they were, then Amy was the perfect choice for anyone to attack Sienna. This was their opportunity to make use of and strike first while they remained low, waiting for the prey to take the bait.

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate your understanding."

"Miss Lawrence, you’re being too polite with us. We’re all friends. Take it easy," Isaac winked at her, and Sienna burst out laughing.

"Cheetah Corps has some interesting characters," she mumbled under her breath and shook her head.

"True that." Kyle agreed in a breath, surprising everyone.

"Shall we start? I’m famished and I think I can eat a cow."

Sienna didn’t allow anyone to serve her. Anyway, the dining table had a rotating disc, making it easier for everyone to take whatever they wanted.

"This is good," Sienna moaned happily when she took a bite of the Lemon Parmesan Chicken. Next, she tried the pan-fried salmon and once again, was floored by the taste.

From then on, Sienna went on a hogging spree. She didn’t leave any dish untasted and made sure to compliment Gary repeatedly until the reserved man was embarrassed and blushing.

Finally, once they were done, Sienna leaned back on her chair and patted her satisfied stomach.

"You know you could easily open a restaurant and I’ll be your regular patron," Sienna complimented, licking her lips discreetly.

"Miss Lawrence, don’t joke with me." Gary brushed off her words with a helpless smile.

"I’m serious. Your cooking is incredible."

Sienna didn’t sit idly. Since they had cooked for her, she took it upon herself to do the dishes. But how could Kyrell allow her to do anything?

"Miss Lawrence, let me..." he tried, only to stop when he saw her stern look.

"Don’t worry. The dishwasher works fine," she joked, returning to her playful self, and picked up the plates.

"But..."

"Mr. Winchester, your people cooked for me. This is the least I can do."

Sienna hadn’t stepped inside the kitchen much when her family was alive. She could barely cook anything, and it was the servants who did the dishes. But after her family’s deaths, she relied on only one person, Frank. If he wasn’t around, she did most of her chores herself. So, she could manage to use a dishwasher.

"But allow me to help you at least. You can’t carry all of them," Kyrell suggested, unwilling to give up, and Sienna eventually relented.

"Thanks." Sienna smiled at him, and that smile took his breath away. She looked so beautiful that his heart started to race while his mind went blank.

’And there he goes again.’ Xavier rolled his eyes when he saw Kyrell going into a trance. All it took was a beauty’s smile, and he was completely entranced. ’Give me a break, will ya, lover boy?’

Kyrell, in a daze, followed Sienna as he carried a few plates. Kyle and Amy were about to follow him to help them when Xavier stopped them.

"What are you two doing?" He stood before them, spreading his arms to block their path.

"Umm... helping them wash the dishes," Amy said as a matter of fact. "Move aside. Let us help Miss Lawrence."

"You don’t have to. Didn’t Miss Lawrence say she’s in charge of the dishes tonight?" Xavier didn’t allow them to move an inch.

This is my friend’s opportunity to spend more time with his lady. How can I allow lightbulbs to disturb his peace? Ky, you owe me for helping you this time.

"How can we allow her to do everything herself. Let us help her. We can complete the chore quickly." Amy tried to walk around him, only to stop when the man stood in her path again.

"I don’t think there is a need to. You guys must all be tired. Have some fruit." Xavier fawned over them, smiling at them creepily, and Amy and Kyle looked at each other, wondering what this joker was up to now.

Other than them, it was just Isaac who was watching the commotion silently. The others had left the dining hall once Sienna had forced them to leave after taking over the duty of doing the dishes.

Sienna returned to retrieve the next set of dishes and noticed the standoff between them. "What’s happening?" she asked, looking back and forth between Xavier and the other three.

"Nothing, Miss Lawrence. My friends here wanted to help you do the dishes. I was just stopping them. You wouldn’t want them to help you after all the stress they went through at work."

’What is this lunatic up to now?’ Kyrell wondered as he too joined Sienna in the dining hall.

’Stress? There wasn’t any at all. Today was quite relaxing. Why is Xavier speaking nonsense?’ Amy thought, her brows knotting into a thoughtful frown.

"He’s right, you know. Please. You guys are already doing a lot for me," Sienna stressed, agreeing with Xavier. Although his words sounded strange, she didn’t dwell more upon it.

"But Miss Lawrence..."

"Please, I insist."

Since it had gotten this, Amy and Kyle didn’t persuade her anymore and gave up arguing.

Xavier smiled wickedly as he glanced at Kyrell, who was picking up the remaining dishes on the dining table.

’I did my best, my friend. I hope you won’t waste my efforts. I’m waiting to eat your wedding cake.’
