Accidentally Yours, Mr. Stranger-Chapter 51: Divide and conquer - Part 2

The employees weren’t surprised to see Sienna arrive at the cafeteria. It wasn’t her first time anyway. The Lawrence family members frequently had lunch in the cafeteria. So, they were used to it.

But they were surprised to see Sienna sit with Kyrell. It had never happened before.

Usually, the Lawrence family members sat alone or among themselves. Rarely did they have lunch with the others, and never with their security.

Sienna ignored the strange looks from around and looked at the menu. Although she had eaten her fill in the morning, the back-to-back meetings had drained her energy and she was famished. Seeing the delicious food, her appetite was whetted and she filled her plate until there wasn’t any space.

Sienna waited for Kyrell to finish piling up his food as well before they searched for a table.

"Let’s take that table, shall we?" Sienna gestured towards the table that was comparably isolated and far away from the others and Kyrell nodded, still unable to comprehend what she was up to.

Although she was behaving mysteriously, her actions exhilarated him to no bounds. He had no hopes of the possibility of anything ever happening between them. He could only find peace in such small delights. It was the only way he could stay with her.

Sienna took the seat that faced away from the crowd. In this position, Kyrell was the only one she could see.

Meanwhile, Kyrell sat opposite her and raised his head. At first, his focus had been on Sienna. But when he saw everyone staring at them curiously, his expression twisted until his brows furrowed.

’What is Miss Lawrence up to? What is she planning?’ he wondered. He was just about to have his first bite when Sienna stopped him.

"Are people looking at us?" she enquired, after swallowing her first bite, her voice close to a whisper.

Kyrell nodded, his face devoid of any emotion. He was confused out of his mind but didn’t show it as he too started eating.

"Is anyone nearby us?"

Kyrell shook his head discretely. His head barely moved but enough for Sienna to detect it.

"Are your friends here?" she asked, satisfied by the man’s tactfulness.

Again, Kyrell nodded and Sienna’s lips stretched into a smirk.

"Can you text your friends to put an act?"

"Act?" Kyrell’s confusion only deepened with her words. Yet, he remained indifferent, not showing his true emotions to anyone.

"Yes. I want them to act as if they’re envious that you are allowed to sit at the same table as me but they aren’t."

Kyrell looked at her seriously for a moment or two before realization dawned upon him.

"Miss Lawrence, are you implying you want the team to spread the word about your preferential treatment towards me?"

"It’s always easier to speak to smart people." Sienna smiled, finding the man more and more likable.

"You could have informed me of your plan in your office, Miss Lawrence." Kyrell pointed out as he pulled out his phone from his suit pocket.

"Then, I wouldn’t have any topic to speak to you about, Mr. Winchester," Sienna said, maintaining her smile. "Moreover, I want to portray I’m closer to you than your teammates."

Kyrell now understood why Sienna had him ask Amy to join the other three men instead of her. He had a fair understanding of her plan.

"Miss Lawrence, may I ask what you intend to achieve?" Kyrell asked as he typed the message.

"You’ll find out soon. Wait and watch." Sienna remained mysterious.

Since she didn’t say anything, Kyrell didn’t force her and started eating his food. On seeing Sienna eat with relish, his appetite was ignited as well. They made small talks in between, not allowing silence to linger over them even for a moment.

Meanwhile, Xavier was confused out of his mind when he saw Kyrell’s strange message. Not just him, even Isaac, Kyle, and Amy were baffled by the impromptu mission.

What did he mean by ’put an act’? Did they look like actors? And why should they spread rumors? And what kind of a strange rumor was this? Miss Lawrence showing favoritism?

’Has my friend lost his mind from happiness? Should I be worried?’ Xavier thought, glancing in Kyrell’s direction. But the man was too deep in his conversation with Sienna to notice Xavier’s scrutinizing gaze.

’Look at him. He must be thrilled to be having lunch with his lady without anyone disturbing them. Could this be considered their first date?’ he wondered, feeling genuinely happy for his friend.

The four people glanced at each other, mirroring each other’s perplexity. Kyrell wasn’t the one to joke around about matters like these. Since he had instructed them to act, they’d put up the best act of their lives.

Passing a silent message through their eyes, they started eating their food.

"This is good," Amy commented, surprised to find how tasty the food was. It was better than the food sold at many restaurants. In fact, it was better than some of the delicacies she had eaten in the past.

"It sure is," Kyle agreed, licking his lips.

Xavier, however, didn’t say anything and glanced at Kyrell enviously.

Isaac, who was sitting opposite him, noticed the change in his expression and realized that the man had begun.

"Why is he sitting with Miss Lawrence?" Xavier grumbled. Although he tried to keep his voice low, it was loud enough for the people at the adjacent tables to hear him.

Isaac and Amy whose backs were towards Kyrell turned around instantly and their smiles fell.

"Why is he sitting with Miss Lawrence?" Amy said, drawing a few pairs of eyes to her. Her tone was laced with displeasure, adding more credibility to her acting.

"Aren’t you close to Miss Lawrence? After all, you’re her personal security. What’s happening?" Isaac asked, giving her a questioning look.

"I’ve no idea." Amy shrugged. Though she was putting up an act, she genuinely had no idea what was happening. So, her expressions were authentic. For a moment, even the three men were fooled.

"Is something going on between them?" Xavier said so suddenly that the three people’s necks snapped to him instantly.

Not just them, but other people too had their attention on him. While most were eager for gossip, the remaining were shocked to the core and they stared at the couple at the far end of the cafeteria as if they wanted to drill holes through their heads.

But Sienna and Kyrell ignored everyone as they ate their food comfortably, raising suspicions in many people’s minds.
