Accidentally Yours, Mr. Stranger-Chapter 44: Xavier - the love guide
Chapter 44: Xavier - the love guide
While Frank arranged the food on the dining table which was big enough to accommodate all the people, he looked around, searching for Sienna. But he frowned when he noticed her missing.
Kyrell too turned in the direction Sienna had gone, his concern deepening as seconds passed. He wanted to go to her. But he didn’t have a reason to do so. His heart couldn’t stay calm and in a dilemma, he kept fidgeting until Xavier couldn’t tolerate it anymore.
Why was Kyrell so stupid? Couldn’t he run behind his woman to ensure she was alright? This was a brilliant opportunity to cultivate feelings and ignite the spark.
Shaking his friend, Xavier approached his friend who didn’t seem to be hungry like the others. Sighing heavily beside him, he clicked his tongue, and Kyrell’s neck snapped towards him so suddenly that for a moment he feared him to have suffered a whiplash.
Kyrell’s gaze shrunk when he realized his friend was up to something. Otherwise, why would Xavier, who was known to be the greatest glutton in the world, still be lingering around him instead of going to his food?
"What?" he asked, not hiding his doubts in his tone.
"I want to ask you the same. What?"
Kyrell gave him a bored look and rolled his eyes. "I’m not in the mood for your games."
"Me too. I’m not in the mood for any games."
"Xavier!"
"Kyrell!"
Kyrell ran a hand through his hair as he held back his frustration. "What are you doing?"
"What are you doing?"
"I..."
"Why haven’t you gone behind her yet? Isn’t this the perfect time for you to go to her and offer some words of comfort?"
Kyrell rubbed his eyes, not knowing what to say to his friend. He wanted to go to her. But he didn’t have a reason to. What was he going to say? Hi, Miss Lawrence. I’m here to offer some words of comfort to you. Please accept them.
"I don’t know, man...I..."
Xavier felt like smacking his friend’s head. Why was his friend so stupid at times when he should be calculative and opportunistic? Where was his brain?
"Looks like I’ll have to guide you. Otherwise, your love life will never have a life."
"Hey..." Kyrell warned him, glancing at the others who were now seated at the dining table.
"Don’t hey, hey me. Otherwise, you can forget about me becoming your best man." Xavier shot back. "Miss Lawrence is yet to eat."
"Oh!"
"Yeah. Oh!" Xavier was glad that his friend had discerned what he was trying to say. "Go to her and do something."
"You don’t have to tell me twice." Kyrell ditched his friend in the living room and approached the dining table.
"Yeah, right." Xavier scoffed, finding his friend a little more pleasing since his brain had started functioning again.
"Frank, where’s Miss Lawrence’s breakfast?" Kyrell asked, looking at the scrumptious spread on the dining table. His people sure knew how to eat and splurge.
"What’s wrong, Mr. Winchester?" Frank asked, waiting for everyone to eat first before he catered to his Miss’s breakfast.
"I have something to speak to her about. I thought I’d bring her breakfast while I’m on it."
"Oh, that would be great. Here." Frank handed him a plate that had four sandwiches and Kyrell took them with a smile as he turned around.
Xavier smiled at him wickedly and winked at him, silently cheering him. But Kyrell just ignored him as he made his way up.
"What a spoilsport!" Xavier grumbled and took a seat at the dining table, hoping his friend would make use of this Sienna-gifted opportunity.
Meanwhile, the said friend stood outside Sienna’s study and knocked at the door twice while he waited.
"Come in." ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Hearing her voice, he opened the door and entered the study, finding Sienna deep at work.
"Miss Lawrence, I brought you breakfast," he informed and noticed her brows shoot up in surprise.
"You didn’t have to, Mr. Winchester. I’d have come down in some time."
"I had something to discuss with you in private. So..."
"Oh, alright. Please take a seat." Sienna pointed at the couch. "I’ll be done in a moment."
Kyrell sat on the couch and waited. While doing so, his eyes automatically settled on Sienna who was reading a document. His lips curled up, his eyes overflowing with indulgence and love. He couldn’t hide his feelings even if he wanted to.
"You are staring, Mr. Winchester," Sienna remarked, not lifting her head from her document. Even though she didn’t see him, she sensed him, especially his gaze which was so intense it could melt ice.
"My bad." Kyrell accepted it without arguing and averted his gaze. This time, he didn’t stare at her blatantly, instead, only sneaked glances a few times.
Sienna didn’t keep Kyrell waiting for long. After signing the document, she paused her work and gave him her attention.
"Yes, Mr. Winchester. What do you have to speak about?"
"Miss Lawrence, I wanted to ask if you are alright." This time, Kyrell looked at her directly, making her antsy for a moment. She recalled their intimate hug in the morning and her cheeks heated up until they flushed red.
"Yeah, I’m fine?" she said, her words coming out more like a question.
Kyrell didn’t elaborate and continued looking at her and Sienna finally understood what he was referring to.
"I’m fine, Mr. Winchester," she assured him with a sigh. "I’m slowly accepting that my family is gone. It may take some time but I’ll be fine."
Sienna’s voice trembled for a second. But she didn’t falter as she maintained a strong facade.
Kyrell didn’t know what else to say. The topic was too sensitive and heartbreaking. So, he changed it instantly. "How did you find your new security?"
"They are some interesting people," Sienna remarked, her blue mood washing away instantly. "Some of them seem to be quite reserved while others are quite chaotic, but in a good way."
"I’m glad you have a favorable opinion of them." Kyrell smiled and pushed the plate of sandwiches toward her. "You must be hungry."
"Oh, that’s a lot." Sienna didn’t know if she should laugh or cry when she saw the amount of sandwiches Frank had ordered for her. She couldn’t eat four. Her tummy would be full at two.
"Mr. Winchester, did you have your breakfast?"
"Not yet."
"You may join me if you want to," Sienna suggested, hoping he’d say yes. She didn’t have any intentions in mind except that the man made her feel something she couldn’t quite decipher and she genuinely liked that feeling.
Moreover, she liked his presence. It soothed her agitated nerves and made her feel safe.
"Are you sure?" Kyrell was delighted inside. But he didn’t show anything on his face and looked at her questioningly.
"Yes, please. I could use some company."
"Well, since you insist."
Although silence fell over the two as they ate the sandwiches, it was oddly comforting and Sienna’s sadness from before vanished completely.
At the dining table, Xavier helped himself to some chicken sandwiches and Frank’s lips twitched when he saw the man eating the breakfast meant for Kyrell. But he didn’t stop him until there were only two left.
"Umm... Mr. Xavier, you may want to eat something else. These sandwiches were meant for Mr. Winchester," he reminded.
"Oh, don’t worry about it. Kyrell doesn’t need them anymore," Xavier brushed him with a smile as he thought, ’If he misses this chance and returns to have breakfast here, I’m going to fucking end our friendship. He doesn’t deserve to be my friend.’
