"Aster? What's that?" Kabir asked.

"My egg," I answered simply.

Yeah… I had been keeping that egg in my Bangle this whole time since I wasn't really sure if I could just hold it in front of strangers but I decided it wasn't like I couldn't deal with anyone trying to steal the egg anyway so I took it out today.

After all, I need to supply it with mana to try and hatch it.

"Your egg?" Kabir repeated.

All of them looked in the direction of my girls, probably thinking that one of them impregnated me or the other way around.

I chuckled, "Should have seen the look on your faces. I didn't lay this egg. It's a monster egg that I'm trying to hatch."

Jenna leaned forward, "A monster egg? What kind of monster is it?"

"I don't really know actually. I found it in a Dungeon," I half lied.

Kabir leaned forward to inspect the egg, "That's interesting… But aren't you worried that it might hatch into something dangerous?"

"That's alright! Because we're going to eat it, right, Sister Aster?!" Odeta laughed.

"Err… No, we're not… Odeta… We're probably going to raise it as one of our own."

Odeta turned and gaped at me in surprise.

Don't look at me like that, I never agreed to eating it whenever it hatched, Odeta…

"How are you hatching it though?" Jenna asked, clearly interested.

"Mmm… I just need to pour my mana into the egg."

"Can I touch it?"

"I wouldn't recommend it… Unless you want to get shocked."

The four Off-Worlders looked at me quizzically and I nodded at the egg I was holding.

"For some reason, it doesn't like anyone else touching it. If anyone but me touches it, it'll give them an electric shock. Don't ask me why."

"So basically it's a bound object?" Christos commented.

"Well… I guess in a way it is?" I shrugged.

Right then, a shout came from the front.

"Monsters on the left!!"

Really? We were still a few days away from our destination and we've already met two events the past two days and we're already meeting another one today? Is it impossible to have one day without something happening?!

I spun towards the direction of where they said the monster was, still hugging the egg in my arms.

Three wolves rushed out from the forest to charge towards the wagon in front of us.

An arrow shot out from the wagon that Clark was occupying, striking the lead wolf in the side.

The wolf howled and stumbled, falling onto the ground but it was still very much alive.

Lisa then stood up and pointed her finger at the wolves, right as she unleashed her [Laser] spell and firing the deadly beam of light at the second wolf.

The light pierced through its head accurately and killed it instantly, the corpse crashing onto the ground and rolling for a few metres before finally stopping.

The last wolf tried to leap past the corpse of its friend but a throwing knife flew out from Katsuki's hand and struck it in the head as well, also killing it instantly.

The knife also quickly retracted back from the wolf to fly back into her hands, revealing that there had been a string attached to the knife the entire time.

It happened so quickly that if you were just looking at the wolf, it would look like the knife had appeared on its head before disappearing like magic.

The first wolf that had been hit by the arrow tried to push itself up but another arrow struck it, this time piercing through the side of its head and killing it.

And… Just like that, the threat was neutralised.

The convoy didn't even slow down at all and it seemed like we were going to just leave the corpses where they were and continue on our journey.

"We're not dealing with the corpses?" Kabir asked.

That was also what I was wondering but thankfully, Emilia answered for me, "The knights and other Mercenaries patrolling the road would deal with them, don't worry about it."

And as though on cue, the sound of several horses galloping towards us could be heard from the front.

Turning to look ahead, we saw several armoured people riding on top of armoured horses.

I'm guessing those guys are knights of the Kingdom.

The convoy slowed down and the knights spun the horses around to match the lead wagon's speed, one of them seemingly conversing with the merchant leader.

Obviously, we were too far away to hear what they were talking about so--

"The knights are asking if the merchant has met with any trouble along the road, Mistress," Katsuki told me without any prompting.

Ah, right… Katsuki has pretty much superhuman hearing abilities.

"The merchant told him about the goblins, the bandits and also the wolves we just fought… The knight is asking where the wolves were… The merchant just told them that it was down the road. The knight warned that there's more monsters along this road than normal. The knight told him that another caravan was found to be completely wiped a few days ago on this road and they had three different Mercenary teams escorting them."

Wait, really? A caravan with three Mercenary teams also died? Just what kind of monsters are around here?

There was a short pause from Katsuki and her ears twitched cutely before she continued, "The merchant is asking what was causing the increase in monster activity… The knight… He said that there's some kind of exceptionally strong monster that had escaped from a Dungeon, causing other monsters to migrate away from their usual spots. It has also forced bandits to move closer to the main road as well instead of hiding inside the forest. The knights are already hunting it down but we should be more vigilant for the time being."

Wait… If that's the case…

A loud booming sound came from the left side of the convoy.

Shit!

Those three wolves from earlier… They weren't attacking us! They were running away from something!

Right as I realised that, an entire tree was flung out from the forest and my eyes widened when I realised where it was going to land.

I looked in the direction of the second wagon and Clark was gaping at the tree right before it smashed against the side of the wagon, flipping it on the side and throwing everyone on it out on the ground.

Shit, shit, shit!

"Everyone!" I cried out, prompting the girls to leap out of the wagon while I rushed towards the second wagon to heal them, storing the egg back in my Bangle.

Before I could reach it, a roar came from within the trees which caused me to stop in my tracks.

The roar was guttural and deep that shook the earth beneath our feet.

It wasn't the roar that stopped me, no. It was because the roar sounded very familiar… A roar that is on the list of iconic roars ever made in movie history.

There was a thump, then another thump, then another thump that was accompanied by the sound of wood snapping before a tree fell over and crashed onto the ground.

A dark figure appeared in the shadows of the forest, progressively getting bigger and bigger until it shoved aside the trees near the edge of the road with its large head since its smaller hands could not reach it.

It stomped out of the forest to reveal its full body before lifting up its head to let out another one of its deep roars.

It's a Tyrannosaurus Rex… I'm standing in front of a T-Rex right now.

"Is that a damned T-Rex?!!" I heard Christos cry out from the wagon.

"Oh my god! There's dinosaurs here?!" Jenna screamed.

I mean… There's magic and dragons in this World so having a dinosaur isn't too far of a fetch if you think about it… In fact, if your Kalomancy is high enough, you could even summon one too.

Ok, I have to say it, this is so cool…

"My leg!! Ahhh!! My leg!!"

Oh crap, I forgot there's people that need healing!

I turned back to the overturned wagon right as the knights charged past me on their horses with their lance lowered.

The dinosaur turned towards the knights right as they charged past it, striking the T-Rex in the leg with their lances.

It let out a roar of pain and tried to snap at the nearest knight but one of them shot out a fireball that exploded against the side of its face, the explosion pushing it away just enough that it missed the knight it was aiming to bite.

The knights turned and tried another charge but the T-Rex spun around and swept its tail towards them, knocking the riders and their horses flying.

Ouch, that has got to hurt…

At least it seems like they were merely just dazed and not too hurt… And their horse must also be of some special breed because they were also still alive despite being flung away like that.

My girls started charging towards the dinosaur as well, only for the T-Rex to turn back around with its jaws open and a ball of light gathering in its mouth.

Wait… It's not going to…

It fired out a beam of light that exploded on the ground in front of my girls, causing an explosion that threw up a cloud of dust and debris.

Did that T-Rex fire a laser beam from its mouth?!!
