Instead of answering Kairos’ question, Liam asked, "Where is Ren?"

"Ren?" Raul was taken aback by how casually Liam referred to their leader. "You mean our leader?"

"Yeah. Ren, Ren Starfall," Liam responded, "Captain Noah said he is the leader of this organization."

"He is not around at the moment," Raul was suddenly curious about their relationship.

"Are you a friend of our leader?" Kairos asked curiously.

Before Liam could answer Kairos’ question, a voice rang out.

"Liam, you have returned?" Ren was pleased when he saw Liam, but he only smiled softly as he needed to maintain his image.

"Ren!" Liam approached him with a happy face. "Ren, I’ve broken through to 3-star. I’m as strong as you now!"

Ren tapped Liam’s left shoulder and spoke, "Nice progress, but you are still far behind. I’ve already reached Grandmaster in my Warrior class, and my Mage class is at 4-star."

"Damn! I thought I finally caught up to you," Liam said with a wry smile.

"Catch up to me? Please, wake up." Ren teased Liam.

"Damn you, Ren!" Liam snapped.

"Hehe." Ren chuckled happily.

Kairos and the others didn’t laugh and only stared at them.

’They seem pretty close.’

Based on their interaction, it was clear their friendship ran deep.

Ren stopped chuckling and looked at his subordinates. "He’s Liam, a close friend from my previous hometown."

"I’m Liam Hayes." Liam introduced himself. "Since you are Ren’s subordinates, you are my friends from now on."

"I’m Kairos."

"Dan."

"My name is Elian."

"Raul is my name."

"Daven."

One by one, his subordinates introduced themselves.

"Liam, do you want to join my organization?" Ren inquired.

"Sure!" Liam agreed without thinking twice because it was Ren’s organization.

"Then, let’s head inside and have a feast to celebrate you joining us!" It had been a while since Ren shared a meal with his subordinates, so he used Liam’s arrival as the perfect excuse to bring everyone together.

"Great idea!" Liam said with a grin.

Then, they ate happily in the dining room.

Time went by quickly and without realizing it, it had been three days since Elyse left Icria City.

At this moment, she was talking with King Aldric in the Royal Garden.

She wanted Ren to suffer as soon as possible, so she sought him out shortly after arriving in the kingdom.

"Your Majesty, Icria City is on the brink of collapse. Ren returned and wiped out all the major families before I arrived." A flash of fury crossed her eyes at the mention of his name because she hated him to the bone now.

She then continued, "Please, eliminate him at once. But if you are occupied, then assign me a powerful awakener. I will hunt him down myself."

King Aldric stopped watering the flowers and turned to her. "Why are you in such a rush to see him dead? He’s already been declared a wanted man. His end is only a matter of time."

"But Icria Ci-" Elyse stopped her words halfway when a blue-haired soldier stepped into the garden.

"Report, Your Majesty. Ren has taken over two more of our cities," Lieutenant Reid reported.

King Aldric’s expression darkened. "Which cities were taken?"

"Elarin City and Redwyn City." Lieutenant Reid answered.

Elyse approached King Aldric and grabbed his left hand. "Did you hear that, Your Majesty? If you don’t act quickly, you will lose more cities."

"I agree with Lady Elyse, Your Majesty. We must eliminate him as quickly as possible," Lieutenant Reid could not stand watching Ren do as he pleased because it was tarnishing the kingdom’s reputation.

King Aldric turned off the water and laid the hose down. "Let’s head to the communication room."

"Great!" Elyse’s expression brightened because he was finally taking action.

Meanwhile, far from the capital, Scarlett was absorbing beast cores in the private training chamber.

With the situation growing more dangerous by the day, she pushed herself to break through to the Grandmaster rank as quickly as possible because she needed more strength to protect her city and her people.

’I must reach the Grandmaster rank quickly.’

As she was trying to break through to the next rank, someone suddenly knocked on the door.

"Apologies for interrupting your training, City Mistress, but the Tuiziya Kingdom is contacting us right now," actually, General Viviana wanted to ignore it because it was from an enemy, but she changed her mind because she couldn’t make that decision on her own.

Scarlett opened her eyes slowly.

She rose to her feet and walked out of the private training chamber.

"Is it the king himself or just one of his subordinates?" Scarlett asked as she made her way to the communication room.

"It’s the king himself, city mistress." General Viviana responded, "We still don’t know his intentions as he asked us to call you right away."

Scarlett didn’t say anything anymore and quickened her pace.

Once they were in the communication room, she saw the images of King Aldric and Elyse on the projector.

"What do you want?" Despite speaking to a king, Scarlett showed him no respect.

There was not even a hint of fear on her face.

Instead, anger flicked into her eyes because the Tuiziya Kingdom had given them countless troubles.

"You are just as fearless as my subordinates described," King Aldric said. "I’ve contacted you for two reasons."

He then continued, "First, tell Ren to return all the cities he has taken from me. And second, I want both of you to come to my palace and offer your right arm and leg. Do that, and I will consider letting the past go."

Of course, he was lying to her.

They had killed his subordinates, seized five of his cities, and tarnished the kingdom’s reputation, so there was no way he would forgive them.

If Ren and Scarlett did that, he would put on a show of forgiveness in front of the public and have them quietly executed on their journey back to Nightshire City.

With this, he could regain his reputation and help Elyse take revenge on his brother.

"Lieutenant Reid, call Brigadier General Ethan to meet me in the Throne room." King Aldric commanded.

"Understood, Your Majesty." Lieutenant Reid bowed slightly before finally walking out of the communication room.

"Elyse, return to your chamber. I will meet you later." King Aldric rose to his feet and headed to the throne room.

"Understood, Your Majesty." Elyse responded.

As Elyse returned to her chamber, Scarlett headed to her private training chamber because she wanted to increase her power.
