Transmigrated Into the World of Magic and Swords-Chapter 189: Challenging Everyone
Chapter 189: Challenging Everyone
Benson raised his staff and cast Water Bullet Magic. "Brat, you challenged all of us at once, so don’t blame us if you end up dead later."
"Handsome, get ready to receive my love attack." A playful smile appeared on Diana’s face as she retrieved her daggers from her space ring.
"We will show you the consequences of acting arrogantly in front of us!" Lieutenant Colonel Vincent and the others roared in unison.
Ren, who saw their attacks flying toward him, remained composed.
He even put his hands behind his back because, to him, their so-called powerful attacks were no more threatening than leaves drifting in the wind.
’You will need something far stronger if you want to harm me.’
Their attacks might have been deadly if their opponent was anyone else.
It was unfortunate for them that their opponent was him, so their efforts were nothing more than wasted energy and mana.
While Ren was standing calmly, Joshua perceived it differently.
He hadn’t moved an inch, so he thought Ren was frozen in fear and had finally realized how foolish his decision was.
’Look at him! I’m sure he regrets his decision now!’
He believed the fight would end with Ren dying in the arena because five powerful awakeners attacked him at once.
"You reap what you sow, fool." Xander’s lips curled up into a smirk as he watched the duel.
Like Joshua, he also assumed Ren was frantic with fear because Ren only saw the attacks flying toward him without doing anything.
But when the people of Icria City and Nafield City expected Ren to die instantly, a radiant golden bell suddenly materialized, enveloping him and protecting him from their attacks.
*Ding...
A deep, resonant chime echoed throughout the arena.
General Vincent, General Andy, and General Nolan were hit by their own attacks after they were deflected by the golden bell, while Benson and Diana managed to evade them.
"Oh! That is an interesting skill you’ve got there, brat!" Benson remarked.
Diana’s eyes burned with hunger and desire after dodging her attack.
’Ahhh! Not only does he look like an angel, but he is also powerful! I want him! I like him so badly!’
Her desire to get him grew bigger when she learned how strong he was because he was so perfect in her eyes: both handsome and powerful.
"Go...golden bell?" Joshua rose from his chair in shock.
’Don’t...don’t tell me.’
A memory of a young man wearing a mask and standing among countless lifeless soldiers popped up in his mind.
’No! It’s not him! He is not the masked man!’
But no matter how many times he tried to deny it, the golden bell before him reminded him of the one the masked man had used before massacring his soldiers.
The ancient inscription, the color, and the ability; everything was the same.
The only difference was that the one summoning it was not wearing a white fox mask but showing his face.
’No! It’s not him! It can’t be him!’
If Ren were the masked man, then the result of the duel was already set in stone because he could kill hundreds of people alone.
"Golden bell?" Xander’s pupils quivered in disbelief.
Like Joshua, he also lost countless soldiers to the masked man.
The masked man had even come to his city, destroyed the entrance gate, and impaled the heads of two high-ranking soldiers on spears as gifts for him.
He knew how powerful the masked man was because he had seen him massacre his soldiers alone through a projector before.
’It’s over! It’s over!’
Ren was the masked man, so he knew how the duel would end.
After blocking their attacks, Ren raised his right hand forward. "Thunderclap Strike."
He had never used the Thunderclap Strike magic before, so he decided to use them as his first targets.
The white clouds suddenly turned dark, and a powerful wind howled through the arena.
General Vincent lifted his head when a deep rumble echoed through the sky.
A dreadful fear seized him when streaks of lightning crackled within the storm clouds, illuminating the darkness with blinding flashes of electric blue.
He hadn’t faced the magic yet, but its presence sent a shiver down his spine.
"Magic? He can use magic, too?" General Vincent’s voice was edged with fear.
He wanted to give up on the duel, but his city lord would not be happy with that, so he could only look at Joshua, hoping Joshua would understand his situation.
"Magic?" terror overtook his face when Benson stared at the streaks of lightning within the storm clouds.
He previously believed they would defeat Ren easily, but now, he was no longer sure about it.
"Aeris? He is Aeris?" Diana’s eyes shone brightly.
Unlike the others, she didn’t feel afraid at all.
Instead, she was delighted because the man she fancied was a special awakener, an Aeris.
’I knew it! I knew my eyes never fail me!’
She instantly shifted her gaze to Ren.
"Handsome man, I give up on this duel." Without hesitation, Diana jumped off the arena.
Even though she had never lost a fight before, she was not sure she could block his magic, so she decided to give up on the duel.
She didn’t mind not receiving money from Joshua and Xander because meeting Ren was already the greatest reward she could ask for.
"He is Aeris?!" Joshua and Xander finally understood why Ren could kill so many people of the same rank because he was a special awakener.
As the duo was in a state of shock, Ren’s voice echoed throughout the arena.
"Attack them." Right after Ren’s voice faded, a massive bolt of lightning shot down from the storm clouds, striking down with a deafening roar, sending shockwaves through the arena.
"Aaaggghhh..."
"Aaaggghhh..."
"Aaaggghhh..."
Agonized screams filled the air.
Even though General Andy and the others had used their strongest defensive skills and magic, they still could not protect themselves from the thunderbolt, causing their weapons to shatter into pieces and their bodies to be scorched.
Bang!
Their lifeless bodies fell to the ground, causing ash and burnt debris to scatter in the air.
"Whoa! We won!"
"I knew leader would win the fight!"
"Of course, leader would win! Do you think weaklings like them can defeat our leader?"
"Leader, do it now! Promote our organization now!"
"Leader, it’s time to promote our organization!"
Chatter erupted after Ren killed General Vincent and the others.
Some of his subordinates praised him, while the rest asked him to promote their organization.
Ren ignored them and only stared at the corpses before him.
’Blame yourself for dying in the arena because you wouldn’t have died if you could have protected yourself.’
Ren shifted his gaze to their city lords before finally walking down the arena.
He didn’t attack Diana because she gave up immediately.
If General Andy and the others had done the same, he would not have attacked them because he had no interest in harming those who surrendered.
After all, it was only a duel.
"Xander, Joshua, we won this duel, so I hope you will keep your promise." Without waiting for their answer, Scarlett returned to the mine, followed by her subordinates.
"Bye-bye, losers! Haha." Ren’s subordinates said before leaving the arena.

Neutral Zone, Cliff.
"Do you think they will keep their promise?" Ren inquired.
Ren was currently sitting on a cliff with Scarlett.
They had won the duel, so they celebrated it by holding hands and enjoying the beautiful view together.
"I hope they do." Scarlett’s voice was soft as she leaned her head on his right shoulder.
"If they dare break their promise, I will visit their cities and wreak havoc again." Ren was serious when he said this because they were the ones who proposed the duel.
Scarlett turned to him and spoke, "Again?"
"I once visited their cities, destroyed the entrance gate, and killed some soldiers." Ren responded, "However, I did it while wearing a mask, so they didn’t know my identity."
"I see." Scarlett finally understood why Xander and Joshua were shocked when he used the Golden Bell Divine Shield skill. "I think they know about it now."
"Well, I don’t care." He had only worn the mask because of a quest from his system, so it didn’t matter to him if they discovered his identity.
After talking for several minutes, Scarlett returned to the mine.
"Come out now." Ren said, "No need to hide anymore."
Diana came out of her hiding place. "Hello, handsome."
"Did they send you to kill me?" Ren asked without looking at her.
"No. I came to see you of my own free will." Diana sat next to him.
"Why?" he asked, "You are a citizen of Nafield City, so you should not be meeting me."
"I’m not a citizen of Nafield City. Xander and Joshua hired me to participate in the duel," She gave an honest answer.
"So, they lied to us, huh?" they said only locals could participate in the duel, so Ren was a little angry. "So, why did you come to see me?"
Before Diana could answer his question, Kairos appeared.
"Leader, we are looking fo-" Kairos stopped his words halfway when he noticed Diana. "Hey, you! Why are you with my leader? Are you planning something bad?"
Diana turned to Kairos and answered, "I have no bad intentions. I only want to meet him, nothing more than that."
"Lies!" of course, Kairos didn’t believe it. "Speak! What is your reason for meeting my leader?"
"I met him because I fell in love with him at first sight, and I want him to be mine!" she responded.
