Transmigrated Into the World of Magic and Swords-Chapter 159: Clashing Between Awakeners and Magical Beasts
Chapter 159: Clashing Between Awakeners and Magical Beasts
’They have grown bolder since that annoying human showed up. It seems like I need to make them remember the consequences of offending me.’
Their behavior was completely opposite before Ren appeared, so rage pulsed through Ardentis’ veins because they acted like they were invincible now.
"Die!" Ardentis roared as he dashed toward Dan.
"Hmph! You think you can kill me?" Dan sneered before finally rushing toward Ardentis bravely.
"Brother, teach that beast a lesson!"
"Yeah! Crush that beast until his mother mistakes him for a stranger!"
"Leader, put that human in his place!"
"Young leader, kill that lowly human so they never dare act arrogantly before us again!"
"Yeah! Kill that ugly human!"
The awakeners cheered on Dan while the magical beasts roared in support of Ardentis.
When their fists were about to collide, a teleportation gate materialized nearby, halting them in their tracks as their attention shifted toward it.
"Hmm?" Scarlett looked at Ardentis and Dan before finally approaching Lexie. "Sister Lexie..."
"Welcome back, sister Scarlett." Lexie said as she smiled.
"Where is Ren?" Scarlett inquired. "He hasn’t come back yet?"
"No." Lexie shook her head.
"Sister, which floor did you stop at?" Elian asked curiously.
"I stopped at seventh floor." Scarlett gave an honest answer.
"Seventh floor?" the awakeners were amazed by her achievement because they could only reach the fifth floor.
"Miss Scarlett, do you know who the inheritor is?" Zaria inquired.
"I didn’t make it to the top floor, but I’m sure the inheritor is Ren." Scarlett told them the reason why she believed Ren was the inheritor.
"Nonsense!" Ardentis dismissed her claim instantly. "Just because you can’t find him on the seventh floor doesn’t mean he is the inheritor."
"Yeah." Elara added. "That human is inferior to brother Asher in every way, so I believe the heir is brother Asher."
Scarlett smoldered with resentment when Elara looked down on her boyfriend. "Flame Chicken, how dare you look down on Ren! Your man is nothing compared to him. He isn’t even worthy of a single strand of Ren’s hair. Take back your words now!"
"Flame chicken?! You called me flame chicken?!" Elara was quivering with anger because she hated it the most when someone called her Flame Chicken. "I will kill you, lowly human!"
Scarlett retrieved her Downbringer sword from her space ring and dashed toward Elara without a hint of fear. "Come! I will fight you! I also want to beat you up for saying Ren is inferior than your man."
"Brothers, sisters, kill those damn beasts!" Kairos roared as he fired his arrow.
"Slaughter them!"
"Leave none alive!"
With battle cries resounding through the air, the awakeners dashed forward, charging straight at the magical beasts.
"Show these lowly humans the price of their foolishness!" Ardentis roared.
"Crush them!"
"Rip them apart!"
In a thunderous response, the magical beasts charged with savage fury.
*Cling...Clang...Clink...
The sound of clashing weapons and people dying on the battlefield filled the air.
Even though half of the awakeners were 2-star mages and Elite rank warriors, they were not at a disadvantage.
Elara struggled against Scarlett’s fierce attacks, while Ardentis found himself overwhelmed by Ariana’s deadly skills.
Kairos and Dan even dominated their battles, effortlessly overpowering their opponents.
The magical beasts attacked with feral and untamed instincts, while the awakeners relied on teamwork, so the magical beasts failed to gain the upper hand in the war.
Boom!
The sound of Ardentis’ body crashing against a boulder reverberated in the entire battlefield.
Even though he was a powerful magical beast, he was still at a disadvantage in their fight because Ariana was an extraordinary awakener.
"Cough...Cough..." Ardentis coughed up blood as he rose to his feet.
’Damn it!’
He wiped off the blood on the corner of his lips as he stared at her with his bloodshot eyes.
He previously planned to kill Ariana in a short time and strike terror into awakeners, but his plan fell apart because she was far more formidable than he had anticipated.
’Why is everyone who is related to that annoying human strong?’
Today was the worst day for him.
First, he met Ren and was humiliated by him many times. Second, he could only reach the fifth floor.
And now, he could not even defeat an old woman.
Something like this had never happened before.
Normally, everything was always under his control.
It was always his opponent who was beaten up or lying on the ground.
However, today was different from usual, as if the heavens had decided against him.
"Ariana, are you alright?" Zaria asked as she approached her subordinate.
"I’m fine, princess." Arina responded, "He is weak, so you don’t need to worry about me."
"You, fucker! What did you say?" Ardentis exploded with rage after hearing Ariana’s words.
Zaria ignored Ardentis and spoke, "Thank god."
"Princess, please stay close to me, so that I can protect you." Ariana ignored him, too.
"Alright." Zaria responded.
"You bastard! Answer my question! Did you say I was weakling?" Ardentis could accept it if she said she could defeat him.
But he could not accept it if she said he was a weakling.
He had defeated many magical beasts and humans, so he was a powerful beast because a weakling could never achieve that.
Zaria and Ariana stared at him for two seconds before finally talking again, treating him like air.
"YOU!" Ardentis’ face turned red as he clenched his fist angrily.
Dan, who noticed his angry expression, closed the distance and spoke, "Oh! What is this? Is our little snake angry again?"
Ardentis, Ariana and Zaria instantly turned toward him.
Zaria and Ariana giggled softly while Ardentis grew even angrier.
"Oh! So, our little snake is injured. Is that why you are angry?" Dan imitated Ren’s method of taunting Ardentis because it never failed.
"Die, human!" Ardentis was filled with anger, so he attacked Dan instantly.
But when he was rushing toward Dan, a body flew toward him, hitting him and sending them both flying into a small hill.
Boom!
Zaria, Ariana and Dan were shocked and immediately turned in the direction the body had come from.
The moment Dan realized who was responsible, a grin spread across his face as he gave a thumbs up. "Sister Scarlett, nice one!"
Scarlett stopped her footsteps and asked, "Are you guys alright?"
"We are fine." Zaria and the others answered in unison.
"Elder sister Elara, are you alright?" Ardentis helped her up.
"Cough...cough...cough..." Elara coughed up blood before answering his question. "That female human is stronger than I thought."
"Let’s attack together." They could not handle them alone, so Ardentis suggested they work together.
"Alright." Elara agreed instantly.
When they were about to fight, a teleportation gate materialized nearby, drawing their full attention.
Not only them but all magical beasts and awakeners also stopped fighting because they wanted to know who would step out of the teleportation gate.
"It’s my brother!" Ardentis rushed toward his elder brother, followed by the other magical beasts. "Brother, are you that mysterious inheritor?"
All eyes were on Asher because they all wanted to know the answer.
Asher gritted his teeth before finally answering, "It’s not me."
All magical beasts fell silent in an instant.
’He is...not the mysterious inheritor?’
Complicated feelings emerged within them because they previously believed Asher was the mysterious inheritor.
"Haha." Kairos’ laughter broke the silence. "We have told you many times that the mysterious inheritor is brother Ren. Now, you believe it, right?"
"Hey, why are you wearing such face? Are you feeling deep disappointment right now? Haha." Dan also laughed loudly when he saw their expression because it was amusing.
They had previously declared Asher as the mysterious inheritor. They even went so far as to say that Ren was inferior to him.
Now that the truth was revealed, their unwavering stance crumbled, leaving them in stunned silence as if they had been swallowed by the earth or vanished into the void.
"Hey, what is it like to fall from heaven to hell? Does it hurt so bad? Haha." Elian joined the fun.
Most of the magical beasts stared at them with hateful gazes. They just faced cruelty, so their mockery was like pouring vinegar on an open wound.
"Is that true?" Asher inquired.
"It seems so since he is still in the temple." Ardentis replied, "Most likely, he is talking to the Moon God right now."
"Hmm? What’s wrong with your face?" Asher finally noticed Ardentis’ condition because his mind was previously filled with legacy and anger.
Ardentis didn’t answer his question and lowered his head slightly because it was something embarrassing.
"Brother Asher, let’s take those two women as hostages. They are his women, so we can force him to give the legacy to us by using them." They failed to get the legacy through test, so Elara suggested they use a dirty method.
Asher shifted his gaze from Elara to Scarlett and Lexie. "Your suggestion is not bad."
"Everyone, protect sister Scarlett and sister Lexie." Kairos uttered.
All awakeners immediately surrounded them, protecting them from Asher and the others.
"Sister Scarlett, sister Lexie, don’t worry. We will protect you."
"Yeah. We won’t let those ugly beasts take you as hostages."
"That’s right. They need to ask my sword first if they want to take you as a hostage."
Ren had made a big contribution to them.
He took them to the temple and treated them well. It could be said they could temper their bodies, get spell and skill books and get magical herb thanks to him.
That was why they would not let the magical beasts do whatever they wanted because they were people who knew how to return favors.
"Do you think you can stop me?" Asher asked.
