Transmigrated as the Novel's Final Boss-Chapter 33:The Capital [1]
Chapter 33: Chapter 33:The Capital [1]
Quickly shifting my head away and avoiding her gaze, I pointed at the empty area below and waited, hoping she would notice.
Thankfully, within a couple of seconds, I felt my body begin to descend as the marketplace got closer and closer with every passing moment.
As I felt my feet touch the cold, hard concentre of the floor, I immediately breathed a sigh of relief and began looking around.
Directly ahead, there was a massive field of grass where hundreds of people were already sitting down with carpets and snacks.
And, in front of that field of grass, the massive lake stood, seemingly stretching on endlessly.
Behind us, the marketplace stood, the streets bustling as people rushed forward and toward the grass with snacks and drinks in hand.
To my right and left were two towering metallic walls, making the marketplace essentially a funnel toward the grass field and nothing else.
Recalling what I had seen when I had been flying above the marketplace not even a minute ago, I immediately began walking toward the right metallic wall.
I remembered an elevated and empty small patch of grass with a single tree on the hill beyond the wall.
Considering Liana was an assassin, she had probably been able to scale this wall easily, so there was a high chance the hill area I had seen was the secret spot she was talking about.
Reaching the wall, I immediately turned around and asked Evangel.
"Can you take us upward?"
As Evangel stood there silently for a moment, I was scared she was going to refuse; however, a second later, she raised her hand.
Then, in a slow and lethargic motion, she pointed her finger at her armsleeve.
"...ah."
This entire time, since we had landed on the ground, I had still been tightly gripping onto her arm sleeve.
Letting out a dry cough, I released my grip, and she approached the wall before raising her hands so that both her palms were facing the ground.
Then, a second later, a gust of wind suddenly rushed against my face, threatening to throw me backward.
Yet, before I could fall onto my back, a small hand-sized wind current appeared behind me, blowing my body forward.
As I attempted to stabilize myself amongst the two contrasting wind forces, I suddenly glanced upward.
And, there, slowly ascending higher and higher into the air, was Evangel, her hand outstretched toward me.
Placing my hands in an "X" in front of my face, I walked forward, feeling the wind current that Evangel had created in front of the wall rush against me.
Unable to withstand the pressure of the gust of wind, my legs suddenly flew backward, and I lost my footing.
Not wanting to crash into the floor, I flung my right hand forward, and above me, Evangel threw her hand downward the lowest she could while levitating in the wind current she had created.
The gap between our fingers was mere centimeters; however, it was still too large.
At that moment, the distance between our hands began to increase as the wind current blew me back into the marketplace and the crowd of people behind.
Yet, before I could fly any farther behind, I felt my body suddenly propel forward as the wind current behind me used its last bit of strength, overpowering the wind current ahead.
Simultaneously, a soft sensation spread through my palm as Evangal grasped it, interlocking our hands.
With the help of Evangel pulling me up, I managed to take the last step forward, entering the wind current ahead.
Within seconds, Evangal and I flew into the air, easily reaching the height of the wall, and landed atop it.
As both of our feet touched the top of the metallic wall, I let go of her hand and immediately looked around.
And, there, a couple of feet away, was a small patch of vibrant green grass lying under a short oak tree.
Stepping off the wall and onto the path that led up the hill, I walked forward with my eyes wide as if being drawn in by the lake.
Reaching the top of the hill where the patch of small grass lay, I peered down the cliff, seeing the vast ocean-blue lake below.
A couple of moments later, Evangel arrived beside me; however, she didn’t seem to care too much for the lake.
Then, a moment later, she suddenly collapsed onto the soft grass below, completely out of energy and fatigued
She had flown me over the marketplace, created a massive wind current that was higher than the metallic wall, and constructed a small current behind me to boost me forward.
It was a miracle that she was still conscious after using that much mana.
In the original story, Evangel would never been able to do that much this early on in the book.
Recalling the massive green mana orb that she had received from the troll earlier, I smiled and crouched down beside her.
Evangel was looking down while playing with the green grass, her arms hugging her knees.
She didn’t even want to watch the fireworks show...she had wasted all that mana just so that I would be able to.
She really was a hero, trying to make everyone around her happy, even at the cost of her own energy and life.
Although Liana had all of the mochi besides the two she had handed to us, I had discreetly taken one in my pocket as a treat for the show.
Not sure whether she had actually enjoyed the treat last time, I grabbed the tissue covering the mochi in my pocket and placed it in my palm.
As a cold sensation spread through my palm, I reached out my palm, revealing the mochi, and asked.
"Would you like another?"
Finally looking up, Evangel took a side glance at my face before slowly shifting her gaze downward at my hand.
After what seemed like an eternity of awkward silence, Evangel finally nodded her head and carefully took the strawberry mochi out of my hand.
However, at that moment, I suddenly recalled something...or someone.
Liana, where was she!?
