The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 329: A free woman.
She didn’t want to waste time trading words or explaining her mannerisms to NaNa. No matter what she said, the woman would be unreasonable. So, she kept her attention on the only other reasonable party on the bus, her soon to be ex husband.
"Xian, you may not remember but i have always been a decisive woman who doesn’t like to mince words or waste time. Kindly, please sign the papers and we won’t have to deal with each other ever again except on important occasions related to the children."
She spoke so strongly, without a hint of regret on her face. Zhang Xian was not sure what to make of it. He couldn’t help wondering if she was relieved by all this. Like she couldn’t wait to get rid of him.
Had she been waiting for a way to leave the Zhang family all along or was she just too angry to continue any involvement with him?
His mother had told him not to sign any papers and consider everything for a few months. But, with both women here, watching and waiting, what could he possibly say to avoid signing the documents?
He didn’t have it in him to continue putting both women in a difficult position. Since one was choosing to bow out, he would not hesitate as well.
He took the pen which she had prepared and signed his name on the documents.
While signing he said, "I was briefed about everything by your lawyers on what to expect."
Yura retrieved the documents without looking at Xian or Nana. A big part of her was relieved that it was all over. She could away freely and cleanly without anything weighing on her mind.
When she looked up, there was a rather victorious and smug look on NaNa’s face which irritated her.
"It’s over now, right? We won’t have to see you again, right?" NaNa asked with a smug smile.
He was divorced so she could now legally claim her man in public. In her mind, NaNa started planning her wedding immediately. She would plan an event bigger than his wedding to Yura. Everyone would know that she was the true miss Zhang.
Yura opened her mouth and said, "Oh, i have changed my mind, i want the alimony. My daughter-in-law is talking about starting a new business. Two hundred fifty million should be good starting capital for her."
As she said this, she kept her eyes on NaNa and her heart gladdened when she noticed the other woman’s jaw drop after she heard the staggering amount of money Yura would be receiving.
"Two__, two, two hundred fifty million!" NaNa exclaimed. She put her hands on her waist and scoffed. ’Why__, why should you take two hundred fifty million of my husband’s money? I have not received one million but you get two hundred fifty million."
NaNa felt like attacking Yura and tearing her face off. What had she done to deserve that money? She was the one that had been taking care of Zhang Xian all these years so why was she not receiving such a huge amount of money?
They had been living in abject poverty while Yura was living a great life in luxury. Her sons had cushy jobs in the family companies and Yura had a company as well. She was already extremely wealthy. She didn’t even need the money so why should they give it to her?
"I am__, no, was Zhang Xian’s wife. That money is what i deserve for serving the elders and taking care of the family for over thirty years. If you want it too, get married for that period of time and then divorce."
Yura returned the same smug smile NaNa had given her earlier and said, "Ah, but i am not sure if you would receive the same amount."
She walked past Zhang Xian and NaNa, and got off the bus. She could hear NaNa throwing an angry fit as Zhang Xian held her back on the bus, stopping her from following her. None of that mattered to Yura. She was free from the ugliness, that was all that counted.
Her legs felt lighter as she stepped down on the ground. She wanted to break off into a run at that moment. Whether it was in celebration of her new found freedom or just to mourn the end of her marriage, she didn’t know.
But she couldn’t go running at that moment because NaNa would think of it as an expression of cowardice. Besides, her sons were waiting for her, ten feet away from the bus.
Zhang Bo was standing behind Caishen, just as he had always done when they were children. They would wait for her like this on the days when she picked them up from school after Xian was presumed dead. Of course, Caishen wasn’t in a wheelchair back them.
Even though she didn’t run, she hurried her feet, put on a smile and approaced them. There was a softness and warmth that replaced the cold face she had maintained on the bus. freewёbnoνel.com
"Why are you guys here?" She asked them.
"We were waiting for you, mother." Bo replied.
Caishen didn’t respond and he watched her handing an envelope to her personal assistant that left immediately.
"What is that?" He asked. "It must be urgent for your assistant to have followed us all the way here."
She had no plans to hide the truth from them since they were adults.
"Divorce papers. Your father and I, we are done."
She smiled at Caishen with a little sadness in her eyes and said, "I am sorry. I know that you were hoping for a different outcome."
Yura said this to him specifically because he was not like Bo. Zhang Bo was like her, the kind of person who met an obstacle and bulldozed over it to get where they needed to be.
Caishen on the other hand was the kind to take his time. He studied the obstacle, figured out how and why it was there and looked for every possible solution in dealing with it.
He did not bulldoze over things unless it was the last resort. Perhaps that’s why he had chosen a career where he studied and built things.
"Are you happy?" He responded.
"I will be." She answered honestly.
It was too soon to say for sure that she was happy. She had just ended a marriage that had been beautiful once. She had decided to let go of the man she once pictured herself growing old with.
She had left behind every picture of them together in the old Zhang mansion when she moved out.
There was a part of her which was sad but she wouldn’t allow it to rule over her. She would keep going just as she had done all those years ago.
"Congrats mom. Whatever you have decided, we will support you." Bo said.
He folded his right hand into a fist and held it up with a cheeky look on his face.
Yura rolled her eyes and bumped her fist against his, laughing loudly.
The beautiful laughter reached the ears of NaNa on the bus and she looked out of a window. The sight of Yura laughing in the company of her sons annoyed her. She was now a divorced woman. What was she so happy about when she was the loser here?
