The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 469 – You keep protecting your belly
Chapter 469: Chapter 469 – You keep protecting your belly
Laura was seething with anger but remained calm. Over the years, she had wondered what it would feel like if she met this man again and now that she did, all the pain from the past rushed into her heart like a flood.
"To kill an innocent family. Like you wanted to do with the vice president," Laura glared at him emotionlessly, her legs crossed.
Julius smiled and looked at her admiringly. She might be tough but he was sure that she would be no match for him.
"That is what we do. You have also done it before. Don’t pretend to be an angel," he accused her. Laura stood up and walked around a little but still maintained a good distance between them.
If she was alone, it would have been easier but she wasn’t. "I’m not an angel but I’m no demon."
"What do you want?" Julius finally asked her. Laura smiled but it didn’t reach her eyes.
"An eye for an eye."
Julius found her words funny, bursting with laughter. "Hahaha. You can’t kill me."
"Not only you but also your family," Laura said coldly. Julius glared at her and said,
"I don’t have a family."
Laura smiled and this time, it was a genuine one. Julius was captivated by her smile at the moment.
It reminded him of their times spent together. Laura had a captivating smile but hardly made use of it.
Those days Julius was tempted to boycott the assignment but then again, he put money ahead of his emotions and did what he was paid to do.
"You are right about that."
Julius discerned from Laura’s retort that she hadn’t done her homework well but was soon blown with a shock as Laura added, "It’s been ages so I prepared a gift for you." She pressed a video and threw her phone at him.
Julius caught it, looked at the video, and horror covered his eyes. In the video, his wife, father, mother, bodyguards, and two children. Each of them was tied as Laura sent three bullets each into each of their hearts.
When she finished, she set fire to the house. "You bitch!" Julius raged, reaching for a gun under the recliner, but Laura was unmoved as Julius fired a shot.
There was just a clicking sound but no bullet. "I’ve been ahead of you for years, Julius. There are no bullets in this room. I already cleaned this room for you," Laura said. Julius was mad.
He looked around for any kind of weapon as Laura added, "I found the cameras too and deactivated them all." She cracked her knuckles. "It’s just you and me. You took my family and I took yours."
Julius was enraged, but the woman had outsmarted him. For someone who had been ahead of him for years, he felt that she wasn’t so predictable. Since he didn’t know what she had in store for him, he tried the sympathy game. "It was just a job."
"Just as you are just a job to me. Because of you, I joined the agency. I resigned so I could hunt you down," Laura spoke expressionlessly.
Julius had never seen her fight, but that was his last resort. There was no way he would allow her to live after what she did to his family.
"Fine. Since you took my family, we are even. Let’s start over," he said with a smile, trying to play on her emotions. But Laura had already caught onto his tactics and revealed,
"I found love, Julius. I only came here to return the bullet you sent to my chest. You missed my heart by a centimeter and I’m here for the same."
Laura removed a small pistol from her back pocket. Julius raised his hands in total surrender.
"You think you are tough, huh? Drop the gun and let’s have a real fight. No matter how you train, you can never be better than me," he dared her, seeking the opportunity for her to drop the weapon in her hand.
Laura dropped the gun, and Julius reached for it, firing instantly. But again, there was no bullet. His teeth gritted as disappointment flashed in his eyes.
The woman was just too smart, and Julius internally ascertained that he had never met someone like her. Laura smiled. "You are so predictable."
Julius was furious and didn’t understand the reason why he was envious that Laura found happiness. "I will kill you and send your corpse to that man."
Julius ran towards her, but Laura jumped and hung on the chandelier. "I know this room better than you do," she said as she landed on Julius’ neck and gave him a few punches before he managed to free himself and threw her hard onto the sofa.
He ran towards Laura and she somersaulted, kicking him in the back. Julius was getting agitated at how she kept dodging his moves. It was unlike him to miss a target, but that was exactly what was happening throughout the day.
"You are good," he admitted, but to Laura, that wasn’t a compliment. Julius was the best in his batch, just as she was the best in hers.
"Not until I defeat you."
This time, Laura didn’t dodge when he attacked, taking a stand and exchanging blows with him.
She received some punches to her face and chest, but when Julius attempted to kick her stomach, she squatted and punched his manhood.
"Ahhhh," Julius’ nose scrunched up in pain. What a fast move? Laura was not so predictable. Her moves were equally clean.
"You are not even good looking. I must be blind in my teenage years," Laura spoke mockingly, jumped, and kicked him on the jaw, causing him to spit blood.
When Julius regained his balance, he targeted his kick at her stomach, but her defense was stronger. She dodged, shielding her stomach once more.
Julius paused and stared at her with his bloody nose. He had observed a few things and said,
"You keep protecting your belly. You are pregnant."
