Chapter 72 -72 Taking Care of Me_1

The ambulance arrived quickly. The medical staff rushed down from the vehicle with a stretcher, hurriedly lifted Bo Jingyan onto it.

After getting him inside, Xia Qingtian quickly followed.

They arrived at the hospital.

Bo Jingyan was immediately taken into the emergency room while Xia Qingtian paced nervously outside the operating theater, her emotions in turmoil as the red light on the door glowed bright.

She never expected that in such a critical moment, Bo Jingyan would rush out to save her.

If his reactions were a split second slower, it could have been him crushed under the wheels.

Why did Bo Jingyan risk his life to save her?

Didn’t he know that he could have died?

Thinking of this, Xia Qingtian felt in turmoil, her mind jumbled up like a pile of string. She didn’t know what to think.

All she knew was that Bo Jingyan absolutely could not have anything happen to him.

What would she do if anything happened to him?

How would she explain it to the old Bo?

Xia Qingtian bit her lower lip, unable to help but begin praying for Bo Jingyan in her heart.

An hour later.

The red light in the operating room turned off.

The door opened, and a doctor with a mask walked out from inside.

Xia Qingtian hurried up to him, asking anxiously, “How’s Bo Jingyan, is his injury serious?”

The doctor looked at her, his brows furrowed slightly as he asked doubtfully, “Are you a family member of the patient?”

Xia Qingtian thought that Bo Jingyan was in a critical condition and needed a family member to sign paperwork. Deciding on the spot, she quickly nodded and said, “I am his wife!”

At this point, what mattered was not her identity.

Saving Bo Jingyan’s life was the most important thing!

“The patient is fine. He just has a broken arm and some scrapes on his back. The rest is alright but he’ll need to stay at the hospital for observation.” The doctor said lightly, explaining the situation.

Hearing that Bo Jingyan was spared from major injuries, Xia Qingtian felt like the air in her lungs had been sucked out. She heaved a sigh of relief as her uneasy heart calmed down.

It’s okay as long as he’s safe.

“Can I see him now?” Xia Qingtian asked again.

Unless she saw Bo Jingyan with her own eyes, she wouldn’t feel at ease.

“He will be transferred to the ward soon. You can follow him there.” The doctor said, glancing at her before turning and walking away.

Xia Qingtian thanked him and heard the sound of a gurney being wheeled from inside the operating room.

She quickly turned her head and saw Bo Jingyan, dressed in a large blue and white striped hospital gown. His left arm was entirely wrapped in gauze, with a bit more wrapped around his head. His face was pale as a sheet.

“Bo Jingyan…”

Xia Qingtian immediately ran to the side of his bed. Seeing him in this state, her nose tingled, and her voice choked involuntarily.

“Crying?” Seeing her, Bo Jingyan’s eyes flickered, he managed to squeeze out two words weakly.

“No…” Crying in front of him was too embarrassing. Xia Qingtian shook her head in denial and then declared, her words not matching her feelings, “I was just too scared that something would happen to you and who would be left to pay my salary.”

Hearing her words, Bo Jingyan’s face suddenly darkened, the corners of his lips unconsciously curving upwards.

Seeing her so worried about him, he unexpectedly felt satisfied.

But this disgraceful woman, even now, she was only concerned about her salary.

When did he ever owe her anything?

They arrived in the ward.

Bo Jingyan leaned against the head of the bed, glancing at the woman on the other side.

Xia Qingtian sat by his bed, peeling fruit for him. As she thought back to what happened not too long ago, she was still a little shaken.

Just the thought that Bo Jingyan, in such a critical moment, was willing to risk everything to save her, touched her deeply. Something was taking root and sprouting inside her heart.

No matter how much she feared him before, now he was her lifesaver.

As she thought about it, Xia Qingtian suddenly lifted her head and looked at Bo Jingyan seriously, expressing her gratitude solemnly, “I want to thank you, Bo, for saving me today.”

If it weren’t for him.

She would not be here carefully peeling an apple.

With that thought, Xia Qingtian’s heart surged with intense emotion. She looked down at the apple in her hand, seemingly as a way to hide her feelings.

Bo Jingyan looked at her steadily, expecting her to say more. However, the woman lowered her head again after her sentence.

His expression became somewhat colorful, and the corners of his mouth twitched slightly.

Bo Jingyan couldn’t help but frown, dissatisfaction seeping into his voice, “Xia Qingtian, I was injured saving you. Is a mere ‘Thank you’ all I get?”

This woman had no sincerity at all!

Xia Qingtian was taken aback, looking at him in surprise, “Then what do you want?”

What she had now was limited.

And Bo Jingyan lacked for nothing. She couldn’t think of how to express her gratitude for him.

The only thing she could do was to prepare more food for him to nourish his body and help him recover quickly.

Listening to her words, Bo Jingyan’s face flashed a scheming look. His voice was low and husky, “Starting today, I need you to take care of me, up close and personal, until this injured arm of mine is fully recovered.”

Xia Qingtian’s peel scraping came to a sudden halt as her brain quickly processed the two key phrases: ‘up close’, and ‘personal care’.

These two words were very suggestive.

In her mind, unspeakable images began to form.

Xia Qingtian’s face turned red in embarrassment and she didn’t immediately respond to Bo Jingyan’s request.

Bo Jingyan could only see the top of her head, and noticing her silence, his eyes turned dark. Suddenly acting pained, he furrowed his brows and let out a low groan.

Hearing his voice, Xia Qingtian didn’t care about anything else. She immediately put down the apple and the knife, quickly stood up, and rushed over, her normally clear face now filled with concern and worry.

The care and worry in her voice was palpable, “What’s wrong? Is it your arm?”

Seeing her worried look, Bo Jingyan’s eyes flickered, he let out a low, “Hmm!”

“I’ll call the doctor.” Xia Qingtian said, preparing to rush out.

“No need, I’m not in pain anymore.” Seeing her about to leave, Bo Jingyan quickly stopped her.

Xia Qingtian looked at him suspiciously. Bo Jingyan looked perfectly serious, his face solemn as if the person who had just hollered in pain, and then suddenly declared he was not, wasn’t him at all.

After the distraction, she had calmed down, discarding the strange images in her mind. She sat back down by the bed and seriously considered Bo Jingyan’s proposal.

After all, he had been injured saving her. If she refused to take care of him, it would seem ungrateful.

After thinking for a moment, Xia Qingtian looked up at him, speaking softly, “I agree to what you said. Starting today, I will take care of you until you are healed.”

Hearing her agreement, Bo Jingyan hummed lightly, his expression remaining neutral as he said, “It seems you do have some conscience after all.”

Xia Qingtian twitched her lips and picked up the half-peeled apple, continuing her task.

“Bring me my cell phone.” Bo Jingyan started giving orders.

Xia Qingtian, who had agreed to care for him didn’t object. She walked over to the table and handed him his phone.

Bo Jingyan lifted his dark eyes, giving her a deep look. His voice was low and husky, “Who do you suspect was the one who tried to run you over this morning?”
