Chapter 75: Chapter 75

Althea pinched between her brows.

"Do you think this is some kind of investigation? I’m not here to have fun with you, ma’am. Whatever I say here is the truth and I don’t give a fuck how much you know your son because if truly you know him, you never should have set him up with the alpha knowing damn well he had me."

Eleni breathed softly. "S-set him up? What are you talking about?"

Althea snatched her painfully by the chin and forced her gaze on her. "I am the alpha’s soon-to-be Luna and do you know the problem your son has caused between us? He never even showed interest in betas, until he met your son, and now he’s second-guessing himself about everything. Your son has ruined everything for me, caused a fight between me and the man I love. Do you know how infuriating that is? Do you know how mad that makes me? I’m not inferior to a fucking beta like your son, and I’ll never be."

She let go of her chin and relaxed back on her chair. "I have some questions for you."

"I have nothing to say to you." Eleni glared at her. "Leave my son alone. He didn’t do anything wrong. No one set him up with the alpha. What ever way he feels about him is no one’s fault. If you want someone to be angry at or blame, try the alpha. My son didn’t do anything wrong."

Althea chuckled.

"For such a soft woman like yourself, you are quite feisty. Never judge a book by its cover, hm..." Her expression darkened so quickly, enough to make Eleni cautious. "It’s best if you cooperate and answer every single one of my questions. Because if not, you’re going to get really hurt and it won’t be my fault."

Eleni glanced at the two betas. They were unmoving as if ready to hold her down if there were to be any casualties.

"Shall we begin?" Althea asked.

She didn’t respond, just stared at her.

"When I ask questions, I need you to answer me, ma’am." Althea’s expression darkened. "Shall we...begin?"

"What do you want to know?" Eleni asked.

A smile spread on Althea’s face and she crossed her legs. "What is your son’s relationship with the alpha?"

"I don’t know."

Crack. Another slap landed across her face and this time around, her lips began bleeding, but she didn’t make a sound, instead she lifted her gaze back to Althea.

"For every lie you tell, ma’am, I’m going to cause you pain," Althea said to her with a threatening look on her face.

Eleni didn’t respond. Instead, she breathed out and asked, "Do you have a mother?"

"What?" She arched a brow at her. "How is that your business?"

"I suppose you have a mother," Eleni said. "Would you slap your mother?"

Althea’s eye twitched and she glanced around with amusement painting her face. "Listen here, woman—"

"They didn’t raise you with love, did they?" she pressed.

Althea’s expression worsened and she lifted her hand, slapping her yet again with no sense of remorse. "You’re getting on my fucking nerves. Listen, I don’t give a fuck who the hell you are, whether I have a mother or not, or what I will and will not do. Answer my questions or I swear to the moon goddess, I’m going to fucking kill you!"

Then she snatched her by the collar of her dress.

"What is your son’s relationship with Keelion?"

"I told you," Eleni let out a deep breath. "I don’t have anything to say because I don’t know what you’re talking about. My son does not have a relationship with the alpha."

Just as expected, a slap cut through her cheek, earning a pained groan from her.

"Your son doesn’t have a relationship with the alpha, but he’s protecting you, his mother, even going as far as lodging you. The Keelion I know would never do that for anyone, not unless there is something to it."

Althea’s grip shifted to her neck and her slightly lengthened claw dug into her flesh spilling blood. "It’ll do you really good to start being honest with me. I don’t have a lot of time to spare, you know."

Eleni spat out the blood in her mouth. "I told you, there is nothing going on between my son and the alpha. And what he has done for me is merely him being generous. You have to understand that—"

Althea screamed all of a sudden, startling even the two betas. She groaned under her breath and rose to her feet. Then she began pacing back and forth.

"You’re trying to protect your son, aren’t you?" she asked as she approached one of the betas. "It is not that I don’t already know there is something going on, but I need to confirm—to know the extent of it. I just don’t think you understand that."

She extended her hand. "Give me the knife."

Eleni snapped her head up towards her. The beta was reluctant but he did take out the pocket knife he held and handed it over to her.

Althea turned to Eleni and walked back to her. She leaned into her space and snatched her by the chin, a sadistic smile on her lips. "You know, protecting your son is of no use. Whether you lie or not, it’s going to change nothing. You really have no idea what I already have planned for him."

She slowly dug the knife into her thigh, twisting it enough to make it hurt. And Eleni who couldn’t endure the pain, screamed, face red in excruciating pain.

Althea stared into her eyes, eyes filled with pure malice. "I’ll reduce your son to nothing, so much until I make sure that he would never be able to get back on his feet ever again. Not even Keelion Fane would be able to help him. And what better way to do that than starting with you?"
