The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 61
Chapter 61: Chapter 61
Keelion stayed seated in his office chair, head thrown back and eyes fixed on the ceiling.
Augustus was standing in the office, his ears and nose a bloody mess. The same thing that had been done to Cyrus was done to him.
Keelion’s eyes never just pooled black for nothing. It was a way to get into people’s heads, destroy them from inward, so long as he’d be able to hold your gaze. He had the ability to hypnotize, to control one even against their will.
His hand hurt so excruciatingly, a pain that would never leave his body. It was basically useless for now, just like Keelion had wanted, dripping blood on the white marble floor.
"You’re messing up my floor, Augustus," Keelion mumbled, a dark kind of amusement in his tone. It was terrifying.
Augustus stilled unnaturally. "My apologies sir, I’ll have it cleaned up right away." Before he could turn and make it to the door, Keelion twirled the office chair to face him and crossed his legs, fingers steepled.
"Do you think I’ve forgiven you for what you did?" he questioned.
The man shook his head. "No, sir."
"Wrong."
Augustus took a step back, enduring the sense of intimidation and discomfort filling up the room so fast.
"But you have a lot more to do," Keelion added. "You’re properly going to apologize to Alexis, and since you already know what she is, who she is to me, I might as well give you a task."
"Anything, sir," Augustus said quickly. "I’ll do it. No matter what it is."
"Good," Keelion said darkly. "From today, Alexis is under your protection. Your life belongs to her, and when I say it does, I mean it. You are to protect her no matter the circumstances. She’ll always be your first priority, not me. Wherever she goes you go, because Augustus, if she ever falls into harm in any way, what I’ll do to you will be much worse than this. Alexis’s life is important to me, much more important than anything else, do you understand?"
Augustus nodded. "Understood, sir. It is noted."
"Good. You’re dismissed."
But he didn’t leave. Instead, he asked, "Beyond the obsession you seem to have with her, do you love her, sir?"
Keelion’s thoughts blanked.
Every sense of expression on Keelion’s face vanished and he turned towards him with narrowed eyes. "I don’t love. I don’t do love and I’m not a man who loves."
"Get out of my office, Augustus," he ordered viciously, as he suddenly clawed at the neck of his shirt with his right hand, pooping the buttons.
"Yes, sir."
It was a light smirk on Augustus’s face, which vanished before it could be noticed and he turned, leaving the office, the door shut behind him.
Keelion shrugged the shirt apart and left his chest to his stomach, all tattooed skillfully, exposed.
"Love? Fucking bullshit."
He suddenly felt like he couldn’t breathe enough.
The buttons of his shirt scattered around the marble floor and he forced himself off the office chair with annoyance written all over his face.
He left the office and headed to his room, but then he stopped at the door. There was her scent again. Too much, overflowing, all over the place. She completely had no control over it.
The moon goddess very well knew better to make it so only he could smell it. He didn’t know what he would have done, had Alexis just walked around with uncontrolled scent and pheromones for just about any alpha to enjoy.
Being a dominant omega didn’t help the case at all.
Exhaling out, Keelion pushed open the door and stepped in, locking it behind him. He glanced to the bed where Alexis was seated, her suit jacket tossed aside. She was left in just the shirt that was missing buttons, not even tucked into her slacks.
She looked disheveled. But it pissed him off because Augustus had done that.
Stalking towards her, Alexis tilted her head up to stare at him, holding her breath when his hand came down to slowly card its way into her hair.
"Keelion..."
"Are you still afraid?"
She shook her head at him.
"Tell me the truth."
She swallowed. "A little."
Staring at each other, his fingers slowly caressed her hair as if a way to soothe her. It was instinctious, to make her feel better and it didn’t matter how he had to do it. Frightened Alexis was not something he liked. Not like this.
Alexis purred under her breath without even knowing, the sudden pheromones he was releasing comforting her more than anything else.
Her teeth dug into her lip and she clutched the hem of his shirt, fingers resting against the bareness of his stomach muscle.
He soothed her hair a few more times before proceeding to have her back completely against the bed. Alexis blinked at him and exhaled softly as his arms came around her, holding her, spooning her on his bed.
His pheromones were all over her like some sort of shield, as if he had her in a bubble wrap.
"Alexis," Keelion grumbled her name and sort of buried his face in her neck, his small stubble scraping against her skin. "You’re mine." freēnovelkiss.com
Every muscle in her body tensed. Heat pooled low as butterflies ravaged her so suddenly from the inside out.
"Mine," he repeated.
And she felt the scrape of his canines. He wanted to bite her, he itched to do it.
The burning feeling intensified her stomach, and she cleared her throat, struggling to mumble, "I-I don’t understand."
A sinful chuckle echoed from him and he pulled her closer, enough to gum her to his solid frame.
"You belong to me. And only me." His lip hovered against the sensitive skin of her shoulder. "No man can ever have you." His tone was guttural. "You’re mine alone—mine to protect. And you need to understand that."
Alexis’s breath shakily vibrated out of her mouth, and she made a small sound at the back of her throat the second his canines bit down into her shoulder.
"MINE. Alexis."
