The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 53
Chapter 53: Chapter 53
Alexis stood in front of the door of Keelion’s room. She glanced from left to right, hands clutching onto the cell phone and the credit card she had.
Drawing a deep breath, she turned the door handle and stepped inside, shutting it behind her. Her gaze stretched around the entirety of the room—its incredibly massive size.
Keelion was nowhere to be found. But the shower from inside the bathroom was running, so she knew he was in there. The tips of her ears reddened a little bit and she quickly shook her, clearing her throat and patting down the big shirt she wore to match her sweats.
Alexis’s nose twitched a little bit and she glanced over to the moderate glass dining table close to the curtained door that led out into the balcony.
Her food had arrived.
She moved over to the table and hunched a little bit, gaze taking a proper look at every yummy dish spread all over.
’Yum!’ Her mouth watered, but then, the sudden presence behind her made her still, eyes rising to the glass door where she could clearly see her reflection pressed against the solid wet frame behind her. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
He was in a white robe, white snow of hair, drenched and dripping drops of water.
Her heart skipped a beat.
"Keelion..."
Keelion didn’t answer her. Instead, his palm cupped her smaller hand, lifting it so he could stare at the credit card. "Why do you have this?"
"I was going to hand it back to you," she muttered.
"Were you deaf?" The hot breath of his words fanned the nape of her neck. "I told you to keep it. Stop making me repeat myself, Alexis. It’s not fun."
He didn’t let her speak and grabbed the other hand that held the phone. He arched a brow at it and then a smirk painted his perfectly reddish lips.
"You’ll need to save my number in here because I can’t keep tabs on you once you step out of that gate."
Alexis turned her head and tilted it up to meet his eyes. "I don’t...know your number."
Tattooed letters stretched across his pale throat and he half grinned, taking the phone off her hand as he proceeded to save his number into it. He shoved it back into her grip, and Alexis glanced down at what he saved it with.
Monster.
"That’s concerning..." she mumbled before she could think.
Keelion hunched down enough for her height and rested his chin on her shoulder blade, eyes cutting to the glass door where their reflection was still quite apparent. Alexis looked at their reflection and immediately glanced down.
She blushed and clenched tighter onto the phone.
"Now that you can do this job you recklessly want to, you must answer every single one of my calls."
She blinked up at him. "I—"
"Make sure to call me every thirty minutes for the two hours you’re going to work there. I don’t care what you’re doing. Every thirty minutes, Alexis, call me. Whether I answer or not, it doesn’t matter, do you understand?"
"What if I’m busy?" she asked, arching a brow at him.
"Call me, Alexis," he repeated. "Every thirty minutes."
His fingers came around her jaw gently and he abruptly dragged his tongue possessively across the mating mark on her neck. Her blush became a full-body blush from the heated temperature and body tingle, breathing hitched.
A soft breath fled from the man and he pulled away. He turned his back and walked off into the dressing room. "Eat."
Alexis happily sat down on the chair and scooted closer to the table.
Sereia appeared out of the blue, slightly startling her. She hadn’t seen her since an hour ago.
"Sereia?"
The wolf hopped into the chair opposite the one she was seated on. "His bond with us is growing stronger, kid."
"Huh?" Alexis chewed on her food and swallowed. "What does that mean?"
Sereia proceeded to explain. "When two mates spark, the bond isn’t very strong. That’s why some alphas or betas can reject their mates in the early stage. Even omegas."
She continued, "The way to speed up the strength of a mate bond is through mate marking obviously, but the thing here is, Keelion was the only one who marked you. You didn’t mark him. So of course the mate bond is still quite average."
"I’m not sure...I’m understanding where you’re going with this..." Alexis furrowed her brows at her.
Sereia sighed. "Kid, I’m trying to tell you that even without the help of the mate marking, the bond we possess with Keelion is growing stronger. That’s why the dominant side of you is also starting to slip. So I’m going to ask, are we really going to let that bitch have him?"
’Althea?’
"Obviously." Sereia scoffed. "Keelion belongs to us. He’s ours. So what if we are not what would be considered normal, he still belongs to us. Are we going to give him up? He wants us, you know, because if he doesn’t, the bond we share with him won’t be growing stronger. He needs to remain ours, Alexis. We can’t give him up to that woman. He doesn’t belong to her! We are a dominant omega and no one takes what is ours!"
Alexis’s lashes flickered, and her lips parted like she had something to say. But then the door of the dressing room opened, and Keelion walked out, swatted in a pair of gray pants, his upper body left bare.
His hair was left tousled, his well-defined broad shoulders on full display as he walked over to the desk, picking up a comb to weave through his hair.
Her gaze stayed fixated on him, particularly at his neck where she knew his mating gland was. If he made that woman his Luna, would she get to bite him, to mark him?
She would have what belonged to her, wouldn’t she?
A sense of irritation like nothing she’d ever felt before burned inside of her, churning at her stomach, and her grip around the spoon she held tightened.
’But he’s mine...’
"Of course he’s ours."
Probably due to the weird silence, Keelion straightened up and turned his head, meeting her feral gaze. He cocked his brow and asked, "Why aren’t you eating?"
She slowly shook her head at him. "Nothing." All while never taking her eyes off him.
