The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 40
Chapter 40: Chapter 40
The smell was unpleasant, mixing with his actual scent—the one she liked. It definitely was a woman’s scent, after all, who else would leave their scent on him? But should she actually be honest? It wasn’t like it mattered whether she liked it or not. But then what would be the point of lying?
Alexis slowly nodded. "Mhm, I-I do."
Keelion’s brow quirked a bit, an unnoticeable smile threatening to break out, but it didn’t. Instead, he said, "You can change that."
She fluttered her lashes at him.
"What do you mean?"
He let go and straightened up, turning to walk around the bed. He got into the bed and flicked his brows at her. "Come here."
She stared at him, eyes darting to the space next to him. Should she...be doing this? This definitely wasn’t a good idea right? Getting hung up on this man was the worst thing she could ever do, because...what would she do then when he gets rid of her?
"If you don’t want to, go back to your room, Alexis."
Her gaze flew back to his face, there was no trace of emotion. She couldn’t read him. He was impossible to understand. Difficult. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
Exhaling sharply, she crawled over to him, and as soon as she was within his reach, he grasped her by the waist, pulling her down next to him.
"Don’t get the wrong idea, butterfly," he mumbled, his breath feathering her ears. "It’s just that had it been me, I would lose it if I smelt someone else’s pheromones on you."
Alexis couldn’t even pay attention to what he was saying. She was silent, noting every touch of his.
It felt...nice, so nice—it was like him holding and scenting her during her heat.
If she had been born like any other normal omega...was this what she could have had? Her mate...the man who belonged to her? Would she never have had to worry about him getting rid of her?
Her life was a mess, a whole mess that could never be fixed. She wasn’t stupid, and she was sure that the pheromone he had on him was that woman...Althea. There was no doubt about it. She wasn’t his mate, but she was the one who would get him. And then she who was his true mate would lose him all because she wasn’t born normal...like any other—
"Stop thinking so hard, girl." Sereia hopped onto the bed with a glare. "Who said that woman will have him?"
’He doesn’t belong to us—’
"But he does. He’s our mate."
’Sereia—’
"Don’t Reia me and listen to me. So what if you’re not perfect? So what if we are an outcast? Keelion belongs to us. You and I, we are a dominant omega and omegas like us do not and I mean we don’t share. We own what is ours."
’Sereia....’
"Keelion belongs to us. Unless he rejects us, we own him."
’We don’t, because he will reject us.’
"We’ll see," and that was all she said, before snuggling up to her, curling up next to her, golden fur warm and soft.
Alexis flickered her eyes, trying her best to ignore the fact she was being spooned by Keelion Fane—a man she never once imagined she would ever even stand in front of.
It made no sense. How could such a man be her mate...? A supreme...alpha...

"You can transfer the box to the maid’s quarters, hand it over to any of them you see," Augustus said to Alexis, who nodded at him in response.
The man turned and left the foyer.
Alexis bent and lifted the slightly heavy box. She turned around, proceeding to leave the foyer, but then something suddenly hit her at the back of her head, causing her to turn around immediately.
There he was—Cyrus, smirking at her. She glanced at the floor—at the rock-like object that he’d thrown at her head and her face screwed tight into a frown.
"This time, Kid, you won’t be telling me what to do."
"What is your problem?" she questioned.
Cyrus raised a brow at her. "Are you talking to me?" His tone was loud enough that it drew the attention of the few staff who were in the foyer.
"Leave me alone. I already apologized for what happened, stop bothering me," she muttered at him and proceeded to walk off.
But then everything happened within seconds and by the time she could process anything, the box had been knocked out of her hand, the collar of her suit grabbed and her body slammed into the nearest wall.
She inhaled sharply at the air that was knocked out of her lungs, hands coming at Cyrus’s grip. "Let go of me," she rasped.
Cyrus gripped her throat and he squeezed tighter. His vile fingers pressed into her skin, the nails cutting.
"I never thought betas were such a bitch." he laughed. "I should let you go? Well then make me. You’re a beta, not an omega, surely you can fight, no?"
"Let....go of...me—"
"I said, make me!" The man intimidated her with his stare before chuckling and turning to the two of his friends behind him. "Hey, video this. I want to have something I can watch if I get too pissed off at this damn shitty work."
The two men behind glanced at each other before one of them plucked out their cell phone and did as he was asked, mumbling, "This could be fun."
They turned the phone towards Alexis, big smiles on their faces.
Cyrus wiggled his brows at her. "Didn’t you ask me to let go of you?"
Alexis managed her gaze over to Sereia.
’Sereia!’
As soon as Sereia met her eyes, the wolf pounced on Cyrus, pawing him so hard across the back that he physically began to bleed through the massive gash.
"Fuck! What the fuck was that?" he yelled, glancing behind him for whoever had done it, but there was no one in sight. His friends couldn’t take their eyes off his bleeding back.
"What just happened?" They shifted their gazes to Alexis. "Did he do it?"
"Kid, I’ll kill him for you if you want me to. You just have to tell me."
Alexis’s eyes crossed with Cyrus who’d glanced at her. The veins at his neck were popping in pain and he let go of her for a moment, reaching for the bleeding raging gnash on his back. "Fuck, fuck!"
Using his distraction as an opportunity, Alexis pushed him as hard as she could, kicking him hard against the stomach in the process, but when she tried to slip off after, Cyrus, unfortunately, got hold of her, this time by the hair, completely ignoring the bleed on his back.
He yanked Alexis and before she could even say anything, he kicked the back of her knees so hard, she tumbled over, finding herself on the floor with a heavy thud, her head banging against the marble.
She choked on her breath, eyes going shut for a few moments in the pain that was ringing in her ears.
"Kid—"
Cyrus got on top of her and grabbed her throat. Still, Alexis flung her hand, slamming her fist into his stupid face.
"Get off me!!!" she yelled at him.
Cyrus’s jaw ticked and he slowly chuckled.
"Did you just...punch me?" He clenched his jaw, eyes wide and crazed. "You really get on my nerves. How pathetic you look makes me mad."
His fist flew.
Alexis braced herself ready for the punch to land any time soon. But it never did. It never came. And at some point, she had no other choice but to peel her eyes open.
Cyrus was staring at the opened door of the foyer, and following his line of sight, she stiffened at the sight of him.
Keelion Fane.
