The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 947: THE FINAL BATTLE (13)
Chapter 947: THE FINAL BATTLE (13)
At first, it was Leane and then Mason, but then Gerald appeared and all the alphas that Cane had killed. They surrounded him. overwhelmed him with the reminders of what they had done to him.
And suddenly, his surroundings changed. The fire that he saw, dimmed. Mason, Gerald and all the alpha had disappeared, leaving him alone and Cane found himself was laying down on the bed. The warm sunlight filtered through the window, while the bird chirping.
In the distance, he could hear the sound of children laughing, he was very familiar with one of them, he recognized her distinctive laughter. It was Rora. It had been so long, since the last time he heard her laughter.
Cane opened his eyes, he frowned when he figured out he was in his own bedroom. The ceiling looked familiar, so did everything around him.
It was surreal, but more importantly was the woman, who slept next to him. Leane. She rested her head against his chest, cuddling with him like she used to. Her warm and the weight of her body were too real to say this was an illusion.
"What is this?" Cane moved her body away from him, but it stirred her awake.
"Good morning," Leane said sleepily. She yawned and hugged him again. "How was your sleep?" She asked with her melodic voice.
And right at that time, someone knocked on the door, Aria’s voice could be heard along with a crying baby.
With the sound of that, Leane immediately jumped off the bed and went to open the door. She returned with a baby in her arms. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"Oh, poor little one, you must be very hungry..." Leane cooed the baby, she sat down again next to Cane and only then he could see the baby.
The baby had Leane’s facial features, but he had his black hair with a pair of clear golden eyes. His face was ruddy and he clasp his fists tightly around Leane’s fingers.
Cane had never really seen his son. The only memory he had of him was when they gutted him out of Leane’s stomach.
But... what happened now?
Cane watched dumbfoundedly when Leane started breastfeeding their son, singing to him and told Cane to stop making such scary face.
Meanwhile, Aria came into the room, bringing their breakfast and teasing the baby before she politely resigned herself. She was very polite, not even once she looked at Cane’s direction.
Shortly, there was another commotion when the twin entered the room, bickering about who was going to hold the baby first and Leane reprimanded them to clean themselves first before coming near the baby.
This... didn’t make sense, but... it was very peaceful, something that Cane craved for a long time. His family was here. This was how his life if the attack from Blue Moon pack had never happened.
However, there was something wrong, as if he had forgotten something, but what?
============================
"You are heavy, you know..." Lou complained, he felt like he was going to die because of this Lazy bear. He was grateful that Lil Thing managed to find them a small cave, a niche, under the cliff for them to take shelter from the lethal blinding light that came out of nowhere.
This white bear actually sat on there, scaring the crows that tried to take shelter too, but the problem was, because the niche was too small and its attempt to protect Lou, Lil Thing actually sat on him and the poor merchant felt like he was going to die because of this silly bear.
"Lil Thing! You are not small!" Lou complained. He tried to push him, but Lil Thing wriggled its butt and Lou felt like this creature broke a few bones in his body. "Damn it. Are you going to kill me, or what?"
After the struggled, Lou actually passed out. He was too tired and the backlash along with his attempt to create the wall of protection in order to keep the crows away, left him very spent.
In his in and out consciousness, Lou heard a few people talked at the same time and someone dragged and lifted his body up. He wanted to see, who had treated him so poorly, but he was too tired to do anything and chose to fall asleep again after a few attempts to see his surroundings.
Not long after, he was awaken when he felt something wet, rough and warm on his cheek, he frowned and when he finally opened his eyes, he saw Lil Thing was actually licking his face.
"Ugh..." Lou groaned. He pushed Lil Thing’s muzzle away from his face. "Enough... enough... I am awake..."
His face was drenched by Lil Thing’s saliva and the lazy bear placed its big head on his chest when it saw he had regained his consciousness.
"I think you don’t need water anymore seeing how wet you are," Redmond commented.
Lou couldn’t see where he was, but he knew he was inside this tent. "That’s how you treated your savior?" He asked begrudgingly and felt someone wiped his face. He thought it was Redmond, but to his surprised, it was Nala and the second person in this tent that he recognized was Sabian. The old man looked worried for his master. "What they are doing here?"
"We are back to Golden Light pack and the former alpha Derick brought the warriors here." Redmond came to his line of sight and started to fill him with what had happened when he lost his consciousness.
"Can’t you spare me some time? I literally just woke up a second ago," Lou grumbled. He felt his head was spinning when he listened to Redmond’s explanation of their current situation.
From what Redmond explained to him, Lou had lost his consciousness for three days straight and the former alpha Derick came yesterday with Nala and Sabian too.
The alpha actually managed to make the royal warriors that they captured during their battle, pledged their loyalty to him. It was a good news, since they were in dire need for a back up.
During this time, they also tried to figure out what happened in the Red Claw pack, but there was this red smoke from the poisonous miasma that prevented them from venturing inside the pack. Even though, there was no more monsters that emerged from there, they couldn’t find a way to know what happened to Cane and Iris.
More so, because the fact Cezi, Cedric and Zale didn’t have any knowledge about magic, despite having the divine power, they didn’t know what to do with it.
They managed to find Lou thanked to Lil Thing that dragged him to them. No wonder, Lou felt his back was killing him.
"Stop whining," Redmond said. "I will tell the other that you are awake. You can think of a way to find Cane and Iris while you take a rest." Redmond walked out of the tent, but before he left, he added. "We lost the healer. For the meantime, you need to figure out how to heal your wound."
For shifters, who was blessed with healing ability, they didn’t really need a healer, but Lou would need one with his injuries.
"Hh..." Lou sighed deeply, he closed his eyes. So, Iris went missing and they couldn’t go through Red Claw pack to figure out what happened to her.
What a nice way to wake up...
Two days later Lou finally could get off the bed and joined the other in discussion, but what upset him the most was the presence of Koda. This man didn’t know when to shut up.
"I really wished I didn’t save him back then." Lou looked at Koda’s back, as he stormed off because his stupid plan was rejected.
"Yeah, you should let those spiders ate him," Ethan agreed. A warrior’s life would be great to trade with Koda’s.
A week later, they came up with the plan to use a route to Celestial Moon pack to reach the capital city, since they knew that Decratic based his force there.
It would take them longer time, since it essentially a roundabout route if they didn’t go through Red Claw pack, but for this time, this was the only option they had.
"I want you to stay behind. I will tie you up if I have to." This was not even a discussion and Ethan had never been this serious in his entire life.
"Is that a threat?" Aliana frowned. She didn’t like the sound of it. She wanted to go too, but Jace and Ethan didn’t budge at all. They openly disagreed with her.
"You can assume whatever you want. You are not going, Aliana." Ethan and Aliana were walking under the moonlight, as they had this conversation.
Aliana knew since the beginning that it would be an issue for her to go in this mission after she almost died not long ago and there was no point to argue with them. But, she was also stubborn.
"This is not fair." Aliana stopped walking. "You are worried about me if I went in this mission, but what about me, who worried about you when you left for this mission?"
If she could choose, she would rather face the danger together rather than sat still, waiting for the news that probably would never come.
Ethan didn’t have the answer for that. If he were on her shoes, he would want to go too. He understood, but he was being selfish right now. He simply couldn’t go through that pain anymore.
"When all of this will end...?" Aliana rested her head against Ethan’s chest, as he hugged her. "I really wish no one will die anymore."
Ethan hugged her for a long time and when they walked again, he was a little bit limping. The fire that burned his feet showed the aftermath of it now.
He couldn’t walk too long, or else, he would be in so much pain. This journey would be extremely hard for him, but if he voiced it out, Jace wouldn’t allow him to go.
"We need to find a healer for your feet." Aliana narrowed her eyes at Ethan. "Your healing ability still couldn’t cure that?"
"I think it will take a little bit longer," Ethan replied casually.
"Is that hurt?"
"No."
===============================
Cane watched how Aria played with his baby. Ezga, they named their firstborn with Ezga. Ezga Nortern.
Everything was perfect. His twin siblings looked lively and the pack was prosperous. Merchant kept coming to ask for the alcohol tea.
When Ezga was five years old, Cane took the title as the alpha of the pack and everyone celebrated it. Everything was perfect, but didn’t feel right. There was something missing. There was something important that he had forgotten, but he couldn’t recall what was that.
The war, Decratic, Rei, people from the Holy Kingdom and those blue eyes, felt like a dream. The more he tried to think about it, the more he had a hard time to remember. It was a long dream, but when you woke up, you forgot most part of it.
It only gave you an anxious feeling that you couldn’t shake off.
And when Ezga celebrated his ninth birthday, he watched at the sky when they released a firework. The light was so bright, it looked like a beautiful flower against the night sky, but then it faded away into tiny little lights.
Two lights in the sky. Cane stared at them. There was something familiar with the two little lights, as if there was something important about it.
Cane furrowed his brows, he turned his head to look around him and find his reflection on the glass. He looked like usual, but he saw a flicker of red eyes that stared back at him.
"Cane, are you, okay?" Leana asked. She looked beautiful in her red, auburn color dress. This color made him felt this longing feeling for something, or... someone.
