"What's the meaning of this?" Lin Ruan asked with a cold expression on her face. The aura emitting from her was enough to let everyone in the surroundings know she was a grandmaster realm martial artist.

The young man with auburn colored hair sitting across her merely smiled at that and unleashed his own Qi that would have overwhelmed a lower level cultivator like Lin Ruan but she remained composed in her spot. The auburn haired young man thought that it was strange but that mystery was soon resolved when a black haired girl emitting a pink hue appeared behind Lin Ruan.

"Make your next move very wisely." Xing Xiaomei said.

"..." The auburn haired man remained silent to that statement and turned to Lin Ruan. Just because Xing Xiaomei was also a commander rank cultivator didn't mean she was a match for him.

Still, he would rather not bring the conversation to the point where a war would be necessary. If he could get his point across without going that far, it worked best in everyone's favor.

"Your forces are focused on stabilizing the overseas situation. Your takeover of the Britannia kingdom may have been surprising, but it's not the same as before. You're losing manpower. I'm offering help, and for a very low price at that. Shouldn't that be in everyone's best interest?" The auburn-haired man asked.

"And we have refused." Lin Ruan harshly spoke.

"And who are you to hog it all to yourself?" The auburn-haired man asked, "It's fair game for whoever can take what they want as long as they have power. Isn't that how you took control of it as well? Through power."

"..." Lin Ruan remained silent.

"Look. I don't want to make an enemy out of the Ruan family but seeing as things are for you, the situation due to your boss, the military's support, and the sect master of the Thunder Cloud Tempest Sect busy with his own matters, there's not much you can do against me and the imperial family." The auburn haired man recounted every disadvantage the Ruan family was currently plagued with.

Considering all the circumstances, it would have made if the Ruan family quietly backed off which they did from their previous situation but that only made the auburn haired man even more gutsy that he stepped into their territory and had the gals to ask for what was rightfully theirs.

Everyone knew the answer to that was a simple 'Shove your offer in your behind,' but given the circumstances, Lin Ruan couldn't even say that. The world was ruled by the strong, and the auburn-haired man was strong.

"Xin Huatao, was it?" Xing Xiaomei spoke before Lin Ruan could, but Lin Ruan remained silent. Although she couldn't do anything, the same couldn't be said for Xing Xiaomei, who was becoming stronger day by day.

"Yes." Xin Huatao replied.

"Fu*k off." Xin Xiaomei said with a smile.

"Haha." Xin Huatao chuckled in return and stood up before leaving with a few parting words, "You will regret this."

"We'll see." Xing Xiaomei replied.

Once they were alone, Xing Xiaomei's expression changed to a serious one. The opponent was a commander-ranked cultivator. There was no way the battle ahead would be easy and with the imperial family in the fold and their backing of evil cultivators, the military staying out of their issues and most importantly, their leader out of commission, the battle would be very difficult to win whether it was a physical battle or a battle of wits.

Even if they didn't lose, the losses they would incur would be more than enough to set them back a lot, and with the increasing numbers of hyenas waiting to devour them, they couldn't afford any form of setbacks, even if they were only for a day or so.

"We need Wei Jun." Xing Xiaomei said.

"I know." Lin Ruan said, but there was nothing they could do but hope and pray that Wei Jun would wake up soon.

~~

"Haha. Now that I didn't expect." He said as he saw his younger brother standing on a pile of corpses, a pitch black sword that swallowed even the light that fell on it in his hands, panting like he had run a thousand miles nonstop on the hottest day without a drop of blood.

He seemed to be on his last legs, but those last legs never came. If he was like then when he killed his hundredth opponent, he was the same when he killed his thousandth opponent.

Damien turned to look at his brother, who had a smile on his face, a smile full of pride, and that only served to fuel his power even further. His brother knew what was going on with him, and that smile meant he understood and he wasn't disappointed.

A weight was lifted off of Damien's shoulder when he saw that smile, and he asked, "Will I still grow?"

"Death is endless. In every aspect." His brother simply replied before he waved his hand, and a blue colored bottle appeared in his hands, in which there was a transparent colored liquid.

"Here. You're gonna need this for brownie points." His brother said as he tossed him the vial. Wei Jun caught it and looked at it.

[Water of Life]

[Tier: Undetermined]

[Description: An elixir imbued with the power of life by the Archangel of Death himself]

[Effect: All ailments and status effects are removed from the consumer]

[The elixir has no effect on some mental ailments]

[Depending on the status effect, consumption could vary]

Wei Jun looked at his brother, who was no longer there. The space around him was no longer the same as before. When he blinked, he opened his eyes in the hospital room with a green glow in range of his eyes.

He turned his head to look at the person who was as pale as a vampire, and her lips were dry due to how long she had been standing there.

"Haa..." Wei Jun sighed and looked down at himself. Physically he was fine and so was the case mentally.

He raised his hand and grabbed the hand that was emitting the green glow, catching the attention of that person as well.

"We--!" Natasha was about to say his name when he placed his hand on her mouth and rendered her silent. He then stood up, his hand still on her mouth, and laid her down on the hospital bed while imbuing Death Qi in her body, making her sleepy.

With his recent practice, he had learned many other ways to use Death Qi instead of just killing people with it. The power of death could do anything imaginably possible as long as it remained within the limits of its category.

With Natasha asleep, Wei Jun fed her a [Phoenix's tear] and let her rest. He was about to turn and leave when the door opened and Yan Rong entered the room with two cups in her hands. Her hair disheveled, her eyes having dark circles around them, and similarly dry lips although not as bad as Natasha, she froze in her place as she saw Wei Jun standing before her all healed.

She was about to say something when she swallowed her words. Calmly walking to the table on the bed's side, she placed the cups on it before she turned back to Wei Jun and just engulfed him in a hug.

Wei Jun didn't do anything other than simply return the hug and take in her warmth.

"I missed you." Yan Rong calmly said.

"I did too." Wei Jun replied before he deepened the hug and purchased another [Phoenix's tear] but willed it to materialize in his mouth before he pulled back and kissed Yan Rong, who didn't resist in the least.

Wei Jun transferred the elixir to Yan Rong, who took in everything without hesitation, and her complexion began to return to normal.

Once she was fully healed, Wei Jun pulled back, a smile on his face as he said, "Unfortunately, you're gonna have to wait for tonight."

Yan Rong softly chuckled before she nodded in agreement, "I get it. She needs to know too."

Although she didn't like sharing Wei Jun, she couldn't be greedy anymore than she was. Wei Jun could tell what was going through her head, but he was quite new in that realm, so he didn't know how to feel about it. He sighed and separated from her, leaving that conversation for later when they could have it.

Fro now, he had a lot of things to be worried about. Ignoring the constant rings of the system that were pinging nonstop even since he had woken up, Wei Jun purchased a new defensive armored suit from the system and wore it.

He then left the hospital, making his way to the elite area of the city.

"Good morning, Master Ruan." Lao Chen had changed his way of addressing Wei Jun. Although he was surprised to know he had woken up, he didn't waste much time and immediately arrived at the hospital after he received the phone call.

"To the Lu family villa." Wei Jun simply replied as he took his seat in the back of the car while Yan Rong remained behind to take care of Natasha.
