SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 120; A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU, CAROL.
Chapter 120: 120; A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU, CAROL.
- KILLIAN -
“While I am quite interested in your offer, the percentage you demand to have is such an off mark for this deal. I am afraid I won’t be able to come to terms with that. It needs to be changed.” I say, swirling in my seat.
If there’s one thing I love aside from killing, it’s doing business and making good profit. Having money is therapeutic. A smirk forms on my face as I lean my fingers up to play with my hair. It’s a good thing I have a load of it.
It’s even better when there’s someone to spend it on. I’m thinking of buying tickets for a holiday in a few weeks. The clearing of heads is very much needed.
“Yes.” I say on the line, listening to my newest investor. “That’s very reasonable. I shall meet with my lawyers and have my secretary book a meeting for us.” He says something from the other side. He’s being very lenient. People like these are the kinds I love working with. “It was nice having to speak with you, Oliver. We would make fine partners.” My grin widens. “Have a great day.”
I stay on the line further and wait for him to end the call. If I was years younger, I may have considered having my little victory dance, but my nature wouldn’t allow me to. I feel good having to secure a deal. It’s been a while since I had proper work to do outside the whole school charade. It feels relaxing to secure a deal.
I sigh with relief as I sink my back backwards in the chair. Despite being involved with business in the underworld, I do have legal functioning ones which I keep separate for a lot of reasons. I don’t plan to spend all my days in this shrewd business. Although I can’t say the same for Liam, I don’t know what he wants at this point.
Speaking of which, I’ve got to phone him. He’s my all time ‘secretary’. I sit up and lower my phone beneath eye level and dial his number when I hear voices.
From how faint it sounds, I can tell it’s coming from my living room. One reason for the location of my home office being here is that it gives me a decent amount of observation of every other room in the house no matter how far it is. I am well trained to sense even the slightest of shift in the air or hear a pin drop on a rug.
My jaw tightens. Two people are here, I can tell by the exchange of words in the conversation, and they’re women. I dip my phone in my pocket and step out of my room. Hazel didn’t specify she was coming over so I wasn’t expecting anybody. Seems like she brought a friend.
I’m totally okay with her doing that as we have discussed this, but I was supposed to be informed so I make myself scarce. It hasn’t even been up to a day since the blog was taken off and she’s already bringing people in randomly without my knowledge knowing fully well I might be home.
I sigh as I descend the stairs. Again, it could be someone else invading my home which won’t be far fetched considering this is actually a gift from S.
I make my way to the living room. Hazel comes to sight. She’s talking to someone and hasn’t noticed me yet. I stand silently with a hand in my pocket, waiting for her to turn.
She finally did. Her face brightens up immediately. “Killian.” She breath with a wide smile on her face. “Meet Carol. The lady I told you about.”
I look past her then around the room. Nobody is here. Is Hazel okay? Now that I think about it, whoever she was talking to wasn’t saying a word and she’s not holding a phone, nor are her ears plugged with airpods.
“Come on out, Carol.” fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
“Oh yeah, sorry. Got an unexpected call.” The sound of the voice makes my brows crease. Now I can smell it. Asami’s perfume. Walking from the side of the living room behind a wall is Asami. She’s dressed like a normal person rather than how extravagant she usually dresses. My jaw tightens the moment I set my eyes on her.
I feel my fist clench in my pocket.
“Carol, Killian.”
Fuck. This is very bold of Asami and very daring. The ends of my lips curl well enough for me to look polite but not into a smile. “A pleasure to meet you, Carol. Hazel has told me so much about you.” Not as much as I’d have liked. I had no idea that ‘Carol’ is Asami. I should’ve asked more questions. Heck, I should’ve put her on surveillance but I chose to let Hazel do her thing unsupervised.
“Please, the pleasure is mine.” Asami says, staring straight into my eyes with a confident smirk. She knows what she’s doing. Whatever game she’s playing at, I do not support it and I do not intend to see it continue. I immediately look away from her.
I wonder what Asami told Hazel that possibly made her show her the ‘professor’ she’s dating. The same Hazel that wanted to keep this private. What form of mind control did Asami use? I need to know.
I try to contain the temper swerving in my body. Not in front of Hazel at least.
“You have a beautiful home, mister.” Asami says, peering around.
“I know right?” Hazel chirps in. “And you’re always welcome to swing by when I’m around.”
That makes my body stiffen for a second. Who gave Hazel the right to—
I take a deep breath, putting a pause to my thoughts. Seeing Asami once a week every Thursday is unbearable enough, now I have to deal with her reoccurring presence.
“You’re too kind. I wouldn’t want to intrude.” Asami immediately says innocently. That’s how she does it, gaslights you in a way that makes it seem like she cares and doesn’t want to be a bother, pushing you to do her bidding without knowing you’re doing it. If there’s another horrible word for irritation, that’s what is perfect to describe the feeling I have when I look at Asami.
“Please, you’re always welcome.” I say. The words strangle their way out my mouth. “‘Carol’.” I say her alias with a fake smile. I guess I’ll leave these two. . ., for now.
