Chapter 32: Enraged-2

Arthur has long realized that having a family meant something for him.

He tried refusing these emotions...this whole family thing, assuming that they would drag him down and become his weakness.

But it was unavoidable.

How can one hate those who feel nothing but love and care for you? Selfless love, asking for nothing in return and just trying to give.

Arthur was overwhelmed by all that.

He didn’t know how to live in a family so he thought he might be awkward and they might find out that he was an impostor...someone took the place of their child

However, as he lived days with them...expressed what he felt...demanded what he wanted, and started to laugh and cry in their pain and happiness, he understood that he was actually just fooling himself.

He didn’t have a family in his last life, but it didn’t mean he didn’t crave one.

And now that he was blessed with one...he just couldn’t stop himself from getting attached to them more and more as the days passed.

He loves his family. He cared about them. As much as this world was important to him, his family held as much importance.

So, if he could become a demon to save the world for his family, he would be ready to walk on the same path once again.

....

"Baron Scott...it’s the first time we are meeting." Sitting on top of the piled bodies of the soldiers, Arthur greeted the man.

Everything around them was dead except for the healer who was healing Arthur’s father.

More than two hundred soldiers were guarding the mansion of the Baron...and within minutes...all of them were dead.

It was not something a child could achieve....slaughtering hundreds with just a flick of his wrist. Claiming their lives with a few movements and giving them a death that would haunt them even in the afterlife.

And all while keeping Scott alive, allowing him to enjoy the show on the front seat.

His hands were pierced with daggers, which pinned him against the wall, leaving him with no option but to witness his men dying before his eyes.

Not only the usual soldiers but the mage warriors, too, fell before him.

He shouldn’t fight him...no, he couldn’t fight him.

He was not a human...he was a demon in a human’s shell. Scott knows...no child can commit a massacre and remain sane.

Overwhelming strength on one side, killing so many people without blinking or showing hesitation?! Not even the veteran soldiers could achieve.

"W-Who are you?" Scott asked through his trembling voice.

Arthur slowly wiped the blood off the sword using the shirt of one of the dead soldiers’ shirt as he said, "The son of the man whom you dragged here."

The Baron took a strong gulp, "L-Look...I was forced to abduct him...I was ordered by a man whom I can’t defy. I never had anything against him."

Arthur heaved a sigh, "I know that’s why you are still alive."

Getting up from his ’seat’ the young boy approached the man, his steps slow and deliberate before he stood before the man and said,

"Look, you have two options: tell me the name of the man and I will kill you. Lie to me, and I will bring your family here. Drag them in the mud, slowly slice their limbs off before killing them before your eyes. And naturally, you will die later too."

Scott’s body trembled ..."Can’t you let me live? I will tell you the name and where he is right now...so please...let me live....I have a family...my son...he is of your age ...please..." Tears filled his eyes seeing his Arthur’s expression was not even faltering.

He was dead set on killing him.

A few moments passed and all one could hear was the sobbing of the bald man, begging for his life.

Arthur grew impatient, "Fine, I will start with your son-"

"No, wait! I will tell you...I will tell you..." He cried, the very thought of something happening to him made his heart tremble. If his death was definite, he would at least protect his family.

Arthur nodded and waited patiently.

The man lowered his eyes and told him, "The ex-Viscount...your grandfather...he told me to bring that man to him. He wanted to kill Aston by himself that’s why he asked me to bring him there alive. If I hadn’t listened to him ..he would have killed my family...I-I had no option..." And he started crying again.

Arthur hummed, "Viscount Turner...my grandfather, eh?"

Arthur was aware that his mother didn’t gain the permission of her family to marry Aston, but she went against them and married him anyway.

Arthur believed that since they had discarded her already, erasing her name from the family register, they must have forgotten about her already

The current Viscount’s behavior towards Aston wasn’t suspicious as well.

But he was wrong. The ex-Viscount still held a grudge against Aston.

"If I am not wrong....the current Viscount has to do nothing with this?"

Scott shook his head, "No one knows about it...Turner told me to bring him to his private villa...he was doing it without the help of his son..."

"Yet you got scared shitless of an ex-noble and tortured my father."

Scott’s face turned pale upon feeling his growing agitation; that’s why he hurriedly added, "He has Ross! The man who is popular by the name Goliath!"

Arthur narrowed his eyes...he had read that name before...an ex-militant who was involved in the raid that happened a few years ago, which helped Aston to gain the title of Baron.

"So because of a single soldier, you did all this?" Arthur asked.

"...y-you don’t know him...he...he is a monster...someone who can destroy towns for his master...."

The look of horror in his eyes defined that this Goliath was no regular goon.

"Okay, Scott. I give you a day to live. I will return after sending my father home and you will be my bridge to my dear grandpa. If I like your work then I might spare you?" Arthur created a water platform and pulled out the daggers from the wall.

"Ah...agh..." Scott groaned in pain as the blades were pulled and his arms finally were liberated.

"But remember," Scott’s body trembled as suddenly Arthur grabbed his jaw and coldly stated, "If you try to run away, I will hunt your family down first. So be a good boy and wait for me, okay?"

Scott hastily nodded.

If he runs away, he will die.

If he stays, he will die.

If he brings Arthur to that man and Arthur dies, Scott would be dead too.

And there is a chance if Arthur survives, Scott still might have to die.

’What have I gotten myself into...’
