Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 105: Lighting The Monument And Two Milfs?
"Do you know what you did wrong?" Rael scolded, keeping his hands on the wheel.
However, the Beast merely shook its head. "Nope. I saw food, I ate it. Unless you were hungry?"
"That's not the point," Rael replied with a sigh. "Could you please stop eating everything you see? Those people were Caedia's to kill, yet you swooped in and ate them."
"Ah..." A serious expression appeared on the Beast's face as it turned toward the sulking Caedia. "I apologize. It was not my intention to get in between you and your revenge."
"I-It's alright," Caedia muttered with a trembling voice. "It's all in the p-past now. They weren't my only enemies anyway."
"Excellent." The Beast nodded, turning to Rael. "We are lost, in case you didn't notice."
"Hm?" Rael tilted his head, once again paying attention to the road.
He had kind of left the autopilot to drive, and he kept his hands on the wheel to look cooler, but now he felt stupid.
After all, the car was moving in circles.
Rael had noticed something off ever since he entered this weird forest. The trees had no leaves, and the sheer amount of bad vibes he got here was insane.
Nonetheless, according to the map, he was basically there already.
The monument was in the northern part of the forest, and from the paved path he had been following, it seemed promising.
But nope, he was lost.
"Caedia, how do you usually get around this place? I mean, are there illusions or something?" Rael asked.
However, Caedia merely tilted her head. "We just walk in large groups. There are usually monsters lurking in the shadows. However, they usually just take our backline, and we in the front move on."
"That's a little..."
"Evil. I know." Caedia finished with a shrug. "I care about my men, but I simply respect the law of this place, which is to offer sacrifices."

"Right..." Rael turned to the Beast. "I know you said you'd be a bystander, but wanna help out? Should I just pick a direction and go?"
"I won't help you," the Beast said with a chuckle. "But I can tell you that they are very... I mean, very sensitive to light."
"Aha..." Rael nodded in understanding, and of course...

Weird-ass filters again, I should be more clear next time, Rael thought, then proceeded to purchase two flare guns.
They were red and already had a round loaded into them.
For the fun of it, he handed one over to the Beast.
"Don't press this button inside the car. If you do, this entire world will explode," Rael warned with a poker face.
"Hardcore..." The Beast nodded several times and proceeded to roll down the window. "This is what the modern humans refer to as a flare gun, correct?"
"Yep, aim it in the sky and—"
—BOOOOOOOOOM
The trees parted, and it almost seemed as if the entire sky cleared up as a single red beam flew into the sky and finally exploded.
"Oooh... I wasn't supposed to infuse it with mana, was I?" the Beast asked innocently.
Rael could practically feel the vein on his forehead forming; however, he decided to ignore it.
After all, despite the Beast doing something stupid and nearly blowing them up, it had managed to clear the skies and even the subtle mist Rael had spotted in the forest.
And now that his autopilot systems were working again, he continued traveling forward.
Finally, several minutes later, he saw the outline of an obelisk.
When he finally arrived, he realized it was empty.
"Did you clear them out again?" Rael asked, exhausted from the bullshit.
"Not this time. Those monsters react very aggressively toward light, so they likely went toward it. But don't mind me, go on." The Beast gestured forward.
Rael sighed, stepped out of the car, and headed over to the bonfire.
The torch was pretty simple to find as always, and soon, Rael threw it inside the bonfire and went along with his normal procedure.

<Flame will remain until all Monuments are lit.>
<Received: 1 Ember>
He caught the ember as it descended, and without wasting a single moment, he swiftly devoured it.
<Ember of Life Consumed!>
<+500 Strength>
<+500 Agility>
<+3,000 Constitution>
<+1,000 Intelligence>
<+1,000 Wisdom>
It gives so little now... and there are still two left, Rael thought, his brows furrowed as he walked back inside the car.
"I see you've nearly reached the limit of those little fruits," the Beast chuckled. "They're tasty, but once you consume all 10 of them, their effects will completely dissipate. After that, they'll just be any ordinary fruit."
Rael nodded calmly and proceeded to tap his autopilot to head toward Halcyra.
In the meantime, he wanted to test his hunch.

The Ember of Life is fine, but the other one is a trillion Trell... I can't even inspect it either since it's so far out of my budget... Rael sighed, turning the shop off.
It pissed him off and even made him slightly anxious.
Despite all his stats, that spider thing on the map was still there—barely moving, and every time it did, a shiver ran down his spine.
Even the Beast referred to it as Bertha, so he was either going to face a joke or someone who could potentially kill him.
So I'll just have to light the bonfire and get away... seems simple enough, Rael thought, and not even a few minutes later, a few towers came into view.
They were similar to Karnyx, but just slightly more advanced. If anything, he could say it resembled a medieval castle.
Better yet, there were already guards waiting for them, and two hot mil—women mounted on horses that slowly galloped toward him.
"Are these the other empresses?" Rael asked Caedia, who seemed to have dozed off.
"Huh? Oh..." She narrowed her eyes before nodding. "Yep, it's them. The one with pink hair is Esmeralda, and the redhead is Victoria."
"I see..." Rael trailed off, trying to mask the smirk that was forming on his face.
Well, well, well... how should I extort these two?
