Re:Ant Lord-Chapter 34: A New Enemy
Chapter 34: 34: A New Enemy
---
Just a few centimeters from his face, an unfamiliar warmth hovered. Pale, moon-kissed skin glowed in the morning rays, and rising and falling softly with each breath, Luna’s generous curves threatened to suffocate any coherent thought.
Kai’s compound eyes locked onto her chest—soft, big, and almost offensively close.
Drip!
His nose leaked crimson. Kai shot backward like a launched spring.
"W... what the hell?!"
Luna stirred lazily, one eye peeking open, a sly smile already curling across her lips. "Oh my... was that your nose bleeding?" she whispered with mock innocence, stretching slowly so her entire body shimmered with feline grace.
Kai looked away, clutching his head. "Of course not. It’s from my battle, yesterday I encountered some strong beast. It’s an internal injury."
Luna sat up properly now, brushing a few leaves from her hair. She eyed Kai with her usual teasing tone. "You know, if you wanted to cuddle at night, you could’ve just done so. You missed a golden opportunity. I felt cold at night, I could have used some of your body heat."
Kai turned away, flustered. "Stop your teasing. I need to wash my face... my injured nose is bleeding."
"You were quiet last night, I thought you would try to take advantage of me. I am glad to find out that you are such a gentleman." she said.
Kai nodded. "Of course, I am a gentleman. There’s no doubt about that."
"I can see that," she replied, her silver eyes locking on his fractured carapace. She asked, "What happened to you? Last night I didn’t notice your big scar."
Kai didn’t respond at first. Then he said quietly, "I was betrayed by an Ant. Left to die. But I survived."
Luna tilted her head. "Good. That means you’re strong."
Kai looked at her, frowning. "What about you? You never said who was chasing you."
"I didn’t," she said, brushing imaginary dust from her thigh. "And I still won’t."
He didn’t push. There was an unspoken understanding there. But peace doesn’t last. A low rumble echoed across the canopy.
The trees groaned. The earth shook beneath them. Kai jumped to his feet, instinctively activating Predator’s Instinct. Luna’s eyes sharpened.
Something massive approached. Kai turned toward the sound and watched as a figure stepped into the clearing like a helicopter descending from the air.
Whoosh!

The figure was tall, over seven feet, with glossy white fur, rippling muscles, and a gleaming tail that shimmered with magical light. His armor was gold-trimmed leather stitched with enchanted vines, and his hair cascaded down his back in flawless waves.
A glowing heart-shaped crest throbbed on his chestplate.
"Found you, my moonflower!" he declared, spreading his arms as if expecting applause.
Luna’s face twisted into a grimace. "Oh stars, not him. He found me."
Kai blinked. "Wait... that’s the guy?" Kai looked at the system status window. He thinks, "This guy is strong."
The warrior’s eyes locked on Luna. "Luna, my sweet, my radiant carrot of passion! I tracked your scent through three valleys and a thunderstorm. I missed you."
She crossed her arms. "Your nose is too good, Roddick. Still stalking like a lunatic?"
Roddick flexed unnecessarily, a glimmer of light bouncing off his well-oiled fur. "Not stalking. Pursuing. You kicked my balls and left before we completed the Sacred Moonbond. We were going to sleep together after our wedding! Don’t you remember our sacred promise under the Violet Bloom?"
Kai’s antennae twitched. "I’m sorry, what now?"
Luna sighed. "He’s lying. He tried to mount me before the Moonbond. So I ran."
Kai nodded slowly. "Good choice. But what’s a Moonbond?"
Luna replied, "It’s basically marriage, we moon beastkin people called it Moonbond."
That’s when Roddick finally noticed him.
The beastkin’s expression twisted in disgust. "And what is this? A ugly worker ant? You left me... for that? You’re humiliating me in front of everyone for him?"
Kai raised his hands. "I’m just passing through, sir. No need to—"
"You dare speak? You, a lowly worker ant, not even in humanoid form? Go back to your dirt mounds, insect!"
Kai clenched his mandibles but forced a calm smile. "Look, I don’t want to get involved in your... weird romance drama."
Roddick stepped forward, tail glowing with energy. "You already are, you leaf-chomping side character."
Luna interjected, her voice steel wrapped in velvet. "Roddick, leave. I already told you, I don’t want to marry you."
"I don’t care!" he barked. "I trained for ten years to earn the right to mount you!"
Kai coughed and turned his face away, fighting not to laugh.
Roddick spun toward him. "What’s so funny, bug?"
"Nothing," Kai choked. "Just... the phrasing. It’s very... poetic."
The air grew tense. Roddick’s aura exploded around him like a corona of silver mist.
"You dare mock me?! Then witness the wrath of a warrior trained by the Silver tail wolf clan!"
He leaped into the air, tail spinning like a drill.
"Tail Tornado Elegance!"
Kai dodged instinctively as the ground behind him exploded, sending a spray of soil and fireflies skyward.
