Chapter 304 - 304: Dragon’s Power and Crow Island Intrusion
"Drawing started~ Drawing successfully, congratulations on acquiring the ability [Dragon Transformation] and one-tenth of the overall attributes of the creature you cultivated this time!"
"Dragon Transformation?"
Seeing the ability he had drawn, Mio raised his eyebrows in surprise. It wasn't the ability he had most hoped for, but it was far from disappointing. After all, the transformation offered a significant all-around attribute boost.
In addition to the power gained from the ability itself, the one-tenth attribute boost was also quite noticeable.
"Not bad, really strong," Mio muttered, a hint of excitement in his voice. He clenched his fists and gave a casual swing—producing a sharp whistle as the air split apart.
Even though his current physical attributes were already exceptional, the improvement was clearly perceptible. This only confirmed how monstrously strong Noah's stats truly were.
With a thought, Mio activated his new ability—Dragon Transformation.
In an instant, his body elongated, golden scales shimmered across his skin, and a pair of magnificent dragon horns emerged on his forehead. His form shifted into a grand golden Eastern-style dragon, his metallic-scaled body coiled in the sky, exuding immense power.
The sense of might surging through him brought a satisfied grin to Mio's face.
After familiarizing himself with this new form, he reverted to human form and chuckled. "Not bad at all."
In the distance, Noah was still getting used to her immense strength, but things had clearly improved compared to earlier.
Since Mio had also inherited a portion of Noah's attributes, he decided to spend some time adjusting as well. There was no rush—after all, Cake Island was just a few days' journey away at full speed.
For the rest of the day, the island shook constantly. Explosions of dust and rubble occasionally blanketed the landscape from the training sessions of the two monstrous individuals.
The next morning.
Mio and Noah walked out from the island and returned to the Black Glory.
"Everyone, this is our new companion, Noah," Mio introduced with a smile. He then introduced the crew to Noah, and vice versa.
With introductions complete, the Black Glory resumed its journey across the sea.
...
Crow Island.
On a secluded shore.
Two figures burst from beneath the ocean surface, swiftly dashing ashore and vanishing into the forest's shadows.
Dressed in white and wearing full-face masks, the two agents spoke in hushed tones as they surveyed the surroundings.
"You head to Black Crow's castle. I'll check the port. We must locate the item Lord ordered us to find—preferably blueprints or any related intel."
"Understood."
With that, the two figures split and darted off in different directions.
Meanwhile, deeper within the island...
Atop a massive ancient tree, Hei Yan—known to many as Hei'er—opened his eyes. A flash of crimson shimmered within them.
A moment later, a thunderous caw erupted as an uncountable number of crows soared into the sky.
The black swarm darkened the heavens, casting an ominous shadow across the entire island.
"What's going on with the crows?"
"That's Lord Hei'er's doing!"
"Wasn't Lord Hei'er resting? Why act now? Could there be intruders?"
"Follow the crows! Lord Hei'er may have sensed the enemy!"
As the onlookers speculated, the crows split into two flocks and swept off in opposite directions.
A scarlet energy coated each bird, igniting eerie flames that radiated a deadly aura.
"!!!"
A piercing screech rang out.
"Damn it."
In the forest, the masked agent rushing toward the castle halted, his expression darkening.
Above him loomed a vast number of crows, each with eyes glowing red, their gazes locked on him like harbingers of death.
"The evil ghost of the Black Crow Pirates—Hei'er!" he growled. That was the name most in the world had given Hei'er, whose terrifying reputation was well-earned.
The number of crows circling overhead was easily over 100,000—and that was just what could be seen above the trees. The real count likely exceeded 300,000.
Back in the heart of the island...
Another flash of red crossed Hei'er's eyes before he let out a shrill, commanding cry.
The crows responded in unison, screeching as they surged forth like a living tide.
Thirty minutes later.
Under Hei'er's nesting grounds.
Over a dozen pirates tossed two bloodied men onto the ground before Hei'er and saluted.
"Lord Hei'er, how shall we deal with these two?"
The captured men—agents of the World Government—were covered in deep, flesh-torn wounds. One had lost both hands; only bones remained after the crows had feasted.
"If nothing else, they appear to be CP0—agents from the government's top intelligence force," Olive said grimly. "No doubt they came here for something important—possibly related to you, Lord Hei'er. Shall we kill them or imprison them?"
Hei'er let out a chilling cry, and once again, a cloud of crows descended upon the two agents.
In moments, the crows dispersed—leaving nothing behind but white bones.
It was a clear answer from Hei'er—no mercy, no prisoners.
Satisfied, Olive and the other subordinates bowed deeply and departed.
Hei'er closed his eyes again, returning to his rest.
...
Meanwhile, Mio knew nothing of what had transpired on Crow Island—and even if he had, he wouldn't have cared.
...
Mary Geoise – Headquarters of the World Government.
Shortly after the deaths of the CP0 agents, word reached the highest authority in the world—the Five Elders.
In a grand hall of ancient splendor, five old men sat in silence.
After a while, one finally spoke. "Well?"
"It seems Black Crow has been anticipating our moves. Or perhaps that 'evil ghost' truly is as skilled as they say."
"Yes. The reports say Hei'er is extremely dangerous, perhaps among the strongest in the New World. And now with more than one million crows, there's no reliable method to attack Crow Island. Even if we razed it, the agents sent would never return. For Hei'er and his crows, it would simply mean losing one hiding spot." freewёbnoνel.com
"But we cannot give up on this matter."
"Whether or not it truly is the Pluton, we must confirm it!"
"And as for worrying about being gentle or soft? That's impossible."
