The moment Alex saw Dario, he knew their plan had worked out. If Dario could handle it on his own, he would tell Alex to stay back. If not, there would be a direct attack from Alex and some of the men waiting for his command.

"Dario, you son of a bitch," Alex yelled, seeming affected by Dario changing sides, but if he didn’t, the plan would fail.

Dario swallowed tightly, unsure if his boss understood the meaning of his last message about betraying him.

"Calm down, boss. How does it feel to be on the vulnerable side?" He asked sarcastically. Logan watched the anger and bitterness in Alex’s eyes, raw enough to make him doubt if Dario was pretending.

Logan felt like he was going to have everything Alex held dear, no longer moved by Alex’s threats.

"I will make sure you pay for this."

Dario smiled at Logan, showing his control of the situation. All he had to do was send a message to Alex without Logan knowing the meaning of it since their phones were being tracked.

Hence, any direct communication with Alex would give them away.

"Why don’t you save yourself first?" Dario asked, adding, "Okay. I have every proof to send you to jail for life."

Alex faintly guessed where all this was going, but Logan could still record and use his words against him if he wasn’t doing so already.

"You can’t do that. I am Alexander King," Alex said proudly. Aiden was annoyed by the whole thing, only waiting to receive Alex’s order for the attack.

About to speak as he didn’t understand the plan, Dario responded.

"Deny it all you want, but don’t forget I have proof of all transactions."

Alex knew that was true but was now struggling to catch up with Dario’s plan. If Alex turned himself in, he could easily get out because he was innocent, but the duration of court processes outweighed his patience.

He promised to get Joanna out of there before the seventy-two hours elapsed, and so far, thirty-six hours were already gone without their having made headway.

Then again, Dario being there with Nancy was proof they had made headway, and the next plan was rescuing the other victims imprisoned on the island.

"Interesting, but how will you get my authorization to have access? You have been blocked from all my businesses," Alex revealed.

Aiden was getting upset by the whole thing, not being aware of Dario’s style of conveying his message. This was the first time they did something completely out of the norm, and it was all because of Mrs. King.

She was pregnant and fragile. As such, extra care was needed to bring her out safely.

"So you agree you are Salvadore," Dario pointed out. Alex seethed, but Aiden was about to speak when Alex lifted a hand to stop him as Dario smiled with approval. "But the great news is, I already got all the information on a hard drive."

His smile was an approving one to show that Alex was on track, but Logan saw it as a smirk, allowing Dario to continue taking charge of the situation.

"You shall be exposed. Or, you can just bring fifty percent of shares." He paused. "Sorry, transfer from King’s multinational together with Violet or whatever her name is. Only then will you be free."

Aiden ground his teeth so hard, it felt like powder in his mouth, but Alex got the message he was waiting for by Dario’s apology. It was the signal for them to move, but he had to end the conversation on an inauspicious note.

"Good job, but how long will that take you? Be prepared, Dario, I’m coming for you." That was his response to the invite.

A sigh of relief escaped Dario, but with Logan by his side, a tight smile contoured his face as he reposted.

"Well then, you better prepare for war because we are prepared for you, and I wonder how you can rescue fifty victims on this Island," he hinted.

If Alex came with a few men, it would be difficult to rescue the victims, so Dario had to make sure Alex got the detailed information to make provision for the victims.

"This is war, and I will make sure you die with your unborn child," Dario threatened, making Logan smile. For as long as he doesn’t harm Joanna’s pregnancy directly, it didn’t mean someone wouldn’t.

If Dario was able to end the pregnancy and Alex, Logan was sure to make him his personal bodyguard as soon as everything was over.

"Dario," Alex yelled, showing his anger, but Dario smiled. His boss was not only smart but also a good actor, making his work easy.

"It’s simple. Just some piece of shares and your newfound love, Violet, or prepare for war. You have 12 hours to decide."

Watching as Alex’s face squeezed from anger like that of Aiden, Dario found a way to assure Logan to not create any suspicions.

"If he doesn’t make the trade in the next few hours, I will send everything I have on him to the media."

"Good," Logan said with satisfaction and ended the video, but at the end of the line, Alex got everything he needed.

"That bastard betrayed us," Aiden yelled. Alex chuckled. "You didn’t believe a thing he said, did you?"

The realization dawned on Aiden as the disk of the coded messages settled. "He fooled Logan?"

Alex didn’t waste his time explaining as he was missing his wife.

"Rent some more helicopters for the rescue mission. Violet can stay with grandpa."

"On it," Aiden said seriously, ready to crash some bones.

On the other side, Joanna’s sleep wasn’t peaceful as she kept thinking about Alex, but the next moment, a young woman came to clean her room.

Why did her eyes look so familiar? Joanna could swear that she had seen this woman somewhere, unless the dead could rise.

Before she asked, the girl spoke. "Call me Beauty. I am here to protect you, but you have to do as I say."
