Chapter 150: Chapter 150 - How can I prove it to you?

A few nights ago, Violet was scheduled to meet up with Bennette at the same hotel, but for some reason, she felt that her plans were messed up and she needed time to restructure everything.

She found the best explanation to give on the phone as they spoke. "I’m sorry, but there are things I need to attend to. Give me a few days."

Bennette was not happy, feeling as if the woman he fell in love with was slipping slowly out of his hands.

Still, he could not rush her because she was a woman of high value, not like his housewife, Sadie.

"Okay, what about you meet me at the location I will send you in three days? Please dress your best," he said softly. Violet was confused but curious so she agreed.

"Alright. I will meet you there."

A few hours later, Violet received a photo and message from Sadie. ’He came home drunk and upset. Raped and hit me until he collapsed on the floor. He kept murmuring how much he wanted V and how the divorce should be fast.’

Violet was disheartened after seeing the picture and reading the message. She replied with a heavy heart.

’I’m so sorry you have to go through this, but please endure for a few more days. By the time the divorce is done, you would leave with your head held high and also press charges against him for all he’s done to you.’

Sadie had not thought about that aspect, but it sure brought immense calm into her heart to get justice for all the abuse she endured.

’Thank you. He’s drunk asleep now, and I will wait until the day of the divorce.’

The next day, Violet contacted a few lawyers for advice, and after getting everything she wanted, she summoned the courage to meet with Bennette, while pretending that everything was fine between them.

She even wore one of her favorite dresses and put on enough makeup to make her appearance more presentable.

Reaching there, the atmosphere and décor at the restaurant spoke volumes, and had she not known what she did now, only one answer would have been on her mind.

Bennette met her at the door like the typical gentleman he always was around her, and she always kind of tried to imagine how he could just turn beastly towards his wife.

"You look ravishing," he complimented as he led her to the romantically set-up table.

Violet smiled in her one-shoulder sparkling dress as Bennet went down on one knee and spoke with childish excitement.

"V, will you marry me? I promise to make you the happiest woman on earth."

Aiden froze at the door, feeling his heart shatter with every word that proceeded from Bennette’s lips, but the excitement in Violet’s eyes pierced him deeply.

He had no idea what was going on as to whether or not Violet had sorted out her differences with Bennette.

After every piece of information he dug out for her, she was still with him. After videoing the event and sending it to Alex, he shoved the phone into his breast pocket.

Aiden lacked experience with women and could not understand Violet, but when her lips parted, he could not keep his cool anymore. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"Violet, please, you can’t marry him," he pleaded from the entrance, and everything came to a standstill.

Violet feared that Aiden was going to ruin her plans, smiling apologetically at Bennette.

"I’m sorry. I will be back."

Bennette was nervous, but for some reason, he didn’t have the adrenaline to confront Aiden, watching him walking away with Violet.

The only satisfaction he derived from seeing the pair together was the fact that Violet did not make any bodily contact with Aiden.

After they were at a far distance, Aiden lost control and pressed his lips to hers, but Violet was greatly upset, pulled away, and slapped him hard.

"I’ve always been a whore to you, so you always treat me as such, and yet, you can’t stand to see me happy." Pain resonated through her voice as she was determined to not let him know her plans since he never respected her.

In spite of the sorrow in Aiden’s eyes, Violet felt nothing as he explained. "I’m sorry for making you feel that way, but please don’t marry him."

Violet was stunned to see him being all polite towards her, but his harsh words never stopped ringing in her ears.

"I will marry him, so stop trying."

Aiden looked to his left and fought back tears. "I love you, Violet, I..." Another slap met his cheek before he could speak another word as Violet raged.

"I hate you, and if you think your pretentious love would stop me, then you are mistaken."

’Pretentious?’ Aiden thought to himself. How could he make her understand that he meant every word he spoke?

"How can I prove it to you?" He asked in a helpless tone. Violet chuckled, but her eyes were filled with disdain.

"If you truly love me, then please leave me alone. Allow me to be happy with the man I choose and stop interfering with my life."

She was amazed by the way she was able to hold his gaze and say those words to him when she meant the opposite.

Her first time with Aiden brought a part of her she never felt before, making her desire to see him again.

However, when that happened, he ruined everything with his attitude. Violet vowed to hate him, and though it was hard, she was determined.

"I hate you, Aiden. I don’t ever want to see you again."

Aiden smiled, but his gaze was sorrowful, and his throat felt bitter. "I heard you say that before, but I never thought you meant it. I never meant all the harsh things I said to you. I was just jealous, but now, you hate me, and I have to accept it. Goodbye, Violet."

He fought hard to hold back his tears, but the way he gave up broke something inside Violet. It was as if he was saying goodbye to her forever. Was it truly over between them?
